Orpheus was out, mulling things over as it were. His lower lip was being nibbled on in a relentless form of human nature, but his fangs tore at the flesh until it bled and healed, a never ending process. The teen was clearly worried, but about what it wasn't clear. Unlike Orpheus to open up to other people easily, not even to Qadir though the father did seem to get a better glimpse than most.

His feet had wandered him to the park absently, and now he flopped into the grass in the middle of a large clearing, just staring up at the moon without blinking. Anyone daring to look close enough might even notice tears shining within those dark depths, though they would certainly never roll down those high cheek bones.

A chill rolled through Phoebe as she tip toed her way out of bed and down the balcony. The moment her bare toes touched the cool grass she was off into the dark, giggling and spinning with her arms in the air. Her night gown swirled around her, a halo of white silk that glowed with the soft grey of the moon. Phoebe's lungs filled with the sweet autumn air when she started to shout with glee as danced towards her destination... the top of the jungle gym.

It took a moment before Phoebe noticed a stranger near her precious seat when she stopped her spinning to catch a breath. Wobbling, she took slow steps until she was but a few feet away from the much taller figure. The figure's back was a stark contrast in the moonlight.

Phoebe stared at the back, her head tilting from one side to another, before she took light steps to peer at the boy's profile. "Hello."

Orpheus was clearly startled out of his little trance, darting to his feet too fast for her eyes to possibly catch such an action. But even as he looked down on her, he seemed to slip back into his small trance. She was stunningly beautiful, a little moon nymph come dancing into his presence, and he was quite captivated but for a minute of his long life.

"Hello," he replied, slightly breathless before shaking himself out of it, turning his head to the side to look away from her and wrinkle his nose as if to show disinterest. Slowly his arms folded over his chest and he scanned the area for anything dangerous. "Little girls shouldn't be out so late at night." The tone was cold and formal. He hoped she would simply apologize and go elsewhere. Orpheus needed this time to think, not be distracted by some spirit.

Pheobe furrowed her brows as she measured the teenager with her blue-grey eyes, comparing his substantial height to her own petite frame. Following his example, the little girl wrinkled her own nose in distaste. She wasn't that much smaller. It had to be something with it being night and the pretty, pretty moon. Yup, that's exactly what it was.

Satisfied with her own justification, Phoebe flitted closer until she was but a step or two away. "It's not really late night. It's early since it barely just struck midnight. If it were late night, then wouldn't it be early morning instead?" She rocked back and forth, her dress swishing softly against her legs, as she peered into his face with overly wide innocent eyes that were screamed to be more than just that.

The teen glances at her out of the corner of his eyes, their dark depths just the opposite of her milk and silk gaze. "It's late enough for the bad guys to come out," Orpheus said as he looked away once more, not following the logic of her childish greed. Not that he could blame her really though. How many times had he snuck out of the house to run off and play on his own? Regardless of the fact that he belonged to the night, perhaps she did too after all?

With a grumble the teen turned back to her, arms still folded and haughty, frown still upon his lips that showed no signs of the distress and destruction he'd wrought upon them only moments before. "Fine, you may stay out as long as you stay in my sights, else I shall drag you back to your mother or father and see if you think I can't."

Phoebe skipped away from her post and danced a circle with the teen in the center, her face glowing with a half-smile. For a guy who seemed to have wanted her gone, he was quite nice. Were all boys like this? She circled around him once more before she came to abrupt stop.

"So if you're going to keep the bad guys away from me then who's going to keep the bad guys from you?" Her silver eye glowed brightly while her blue eye twinkled with delight. She didn't wait for an answer before she spun away to start her dance again. Giggles peeled out of her as she gazed adoringly at the moon. The stars held no light to pearly orb.

Orphues crouched down a bit, watching her dance around like a little sprite from the forest. Could that even be what she was? He could smell her, certainly, she seemed enough of a scent child to his eyes and nose, but could not spirits and sprites have their own scent? Or perhaps she was even a little bit of both.

For a moment Orpheus felt guilty, as if he'd betrayed something between himself and Kaoru, but he pushed it away. Neither of them had tried contacting each other recently, and it wasn't like they were actually dating. Well, honestly they were more like siblings. And so with that he pushed his little worries away.

"Maybe because I'm the bad guy," the teen said with a cold smile that showed off his fangs, glinting in the moonlight. But it looked like she wasn't paying attention. No matter. The vampire simply crouched and waited, keeping his ears open for anyone approaching while the girl enjoyed herself.

Continuing her dance, Phoebe laughed softly, "Do bad guys always dress so nicely?" Juno had always warned her about talking to strangers, but the strangers that her maternal figure had described sounded like the rats would find in the darkest of alleys. He appeared to have stepped out from one of her bedtime stories, sort of. And besides, Phoebe liked his company.

Phoebe wondered he would have done if she had been a bad guy. Would he have demanded them to stay in his sight with a threat to take them home? Home. It was still too early to be going home. The night sky all but begged for her to stay out to play.

"So if you're a bad guy, is it alright for me to call you Mr. Bad Guy or perhaps Baddie?" Again, her face lit with the mysterious half-smile of hers as she slowed her steps. Her breath was quick from her continuous dancing, but her shoulders shook every so slightly without halt as she giggled some more.

"Bad guys can dress however they want," Orpheus said, his pout even sounding in his voice. He didn't like to be picked about the way he dressed. It was simple but it was nice. At least he wasn't in a dress, like certain...others might be putting on. Not that he had a problem with a woman in a dress, he's was thinking strictly of the other sex.

All the trips Orpheus had gone on with his father made him worry less about the bad guys, and though he'd met plenty of sweet, innocent looking girls that had turned out to be anything but, he didn't feel like this one held within her that certain bad streak.

Her words made him shrug slightly, and he tilted his head to the side as he replied. "You can call me whatever you want I suppose, but my real name is Orpheus, if you're interested." Qadir would have rolled over in his grave hearing Orpheus give permission to anyone, let alone someone he hardly knew, to call him by a nickname. Nicknames were not on Orpheus' personal 'ok list'. Good thing Qadir wasn't dead.

Phoebe slowed to a stop as she frowned. Orpheus. The name sounded familiar. It was definitely a name from her Greek mythology lessons with Juno, but Phoebe wasn't exactly the most studious of students. Suddenly her eyebrows jumped, the orbs above her brow rippling, as her eyes grew wide with glee. "Then I'm going to call you Orphie!" she exclaimed with more tinkling laughter.

"Hm..." Again the little moon child measured Orpheus before taking quick steps to stand squarely in front of the adolescent. He really was dressed very nicely. Almost as if he were going to a party. Perhaps, just perhaps he might?

Holding her hands behind her back, she began to swish the skirt of her dress as she peered up at Orpheus. "How are your feet?"

Orpheus cringed despite himself. It was worse than he would have imagined. But a gentleman didn't take back his word so frivolously. The best he could do was attempt not to take his own life at the prospect of forever being called Orphie.

Parties, though fun, were not often on Orpheus' to-do list. He simply preferred being known as someone who took pride in his outward appearance. That or the overwhelming amount of vanity that ran like poison in the boy's veins. Take your pick.

"My feet? Well, his feet could be a number of things, but without her explaining her puzzling question Orpheus had little choice than to return her question with one of his own.

Phoebe bit the corner of her upper lip as she stared down at Orpheus' feet with all too serious of an expression for her childish face. "They look like they're good feet. And you look like you know how to use them. But they are pretty big. It would hurt if you made a mistake," she spoke to herself as bent over for a closer look before returning her inquiring gaze to Orpheus.

"Can you dance, Orphie?"

The little girl thought about her question. Perhaps she should have phrased it differently? After all, who cannot dance? Dancing well on the other hand is a whole different matter. Though maybe he could just skip? Phoebe tried to imagine the all too dignified looking Orphie skipping with his disgruntled expression before bursting into laughter.

No. Skipping would not be the best alternative though hilarious. Already her feet itched to be away from the earth as she waited for Orpheus to respond.

The teen stared at his feet as she did, confused as to what exactly she had in mind. Foot fetish perhaps? A bit disturbing. Between Orphie and a foot fetish, Orpheus might be changing his mind about who the bad guy in the group was. He sniffed at the word mistake. Not likely. "I dance." Orpheus replied steadily. Qadir had taught him every dance he's known, but of course the favorite for both of them was the simple but elegant waltz. He wasn't sure if she was referring to dancing, as in knowing certain dances and where your feet go, or if she was referring to the "cut it loose" vertical seizures kids these days seemed to favor.

Orpheus. Does. Not. Skip. He was more likely to start calling himself Orphie before something like that ever happened. He looked confused as to what she was giggling herself into a fit over, but all he did was sigh and wait for her to finish. Once she had he'd offer his hand to her, though he still looked sulky, his voice was warm. "Did you want to dance with me?"

She smiled at the question and not one of her half-smiles or smirks. The white of her teeth were nearly as pearly as the moon itself as Phoebe flashed Orpheus a look of pure delight. The girl hadn't actually thought that the older boy would ask her to dance. She had been more than ready to grab his hand and spin him around in circles if it came to desperate measures such as a flat out rejection or the possible disappointment of a lack of dance skills.

Taking a skipping step back, Phoebe took either sides of her night gown and gave a smooth curtsy. Her eyes were half closed and facing the ground as she dipped down and rose to drop her small pale hand lightly into Orpheus' waiting hand. Blue-grey eyes were instantly drawn to how her hand looked in his. It was bigger, a lot bigger. It felt bigger than when Juno gripped her hand during their walks. But then again, he was a boy. Yes, that was it. Boys are just different.

A quick smile danced across her face as she teasingly said, "Try to not step on my feet. They might break."

The teen was not someone you could simply haul around at your own choosing, especially if you are female, and a slight bit smaller. Luckily she didn't have to worry about such things, for Orpheus loved to dance. Kill monsters. Dance. The things he loved were very simply categorized. Since his love of monster hunting had been severely diminished no thanks to Qadir's flagging strength and overall interest, Orpheus was more than delighted to partake in his other loves to take his mind off things.

At her polite curtsy, he would in turn bow, folding his fingers around her hand and pulling it towards his lips to brush gentlemanly kiss upon her warm flesh, ever vigilant that his fangs were no where near piercing range. If he noticed the way she stared at his hand he didn't bother to comment, tugging her forward slightly instead.

It was a bit uncomfortable, dancing with a partner not quite your height, but Orpheus was willing to make due. Nothing a good day's rest wouldn't cure when he got around to it. Half-grin spread on his lips, a bit awkward looking, but warm, "I wouldn't step on your feet if you tried to make me." Vampire reflexes and all that jazz.
