Character Name: Virgil Attis de Dantés

Age: 86 (appears in his early 20’s)

Height: 6ft 1½in.

Weight: 176 lbs.

Race: Garuda incarnate

Sex: M

Appearance:
A rather handsome fellow, he has straight midnight hair with a very bright shade of bleached blue on the tips of the hair up front and on the back. The tips cover a certain amount of hair for each strand, and make a unique color spectrum of color for Virgil hair. The hair is longer up front, but very well trimmed and maintained in the back. The hair flows quite far into his face, making a slightly concealed look, but he has it done so that his facial features can still show clearly in the spectrum. He has auburn brown eyes that bear a bit of a hue of yellow to make a darker saffron color for his eyes, and the change colors with his mood (Darker with more negative emotions and lighter with more positive). His nose is button, but long enough to balance the two out to make a well shaped nose that compliments his face in general. On the center of the top of his nose, Virgil has a X-shaped scar that goes to the tip of both his cheeks but doesn’t go very far past the nose up top. His lips are smooth, and his left ear has a slightly larger lobe at the end from old earrings but is quite normally sized. All and all, his face is quite striking.

For body style, Virgil is a lean figure, in good shape, with a bold chest and strong arms to match. His legs are long and well built, and overall, he’s quite well rounded. His flexibility is decent in his legs and back, though his arm movement range is quite mediocre. He has plenty of compact muscle, though compared to most that do have it not much, and has a decent capacity for strength on demand.

As for clothing, Virgil often wears a black battle based long-sleeve coat. The linings of the coat are in silk, with subtle wool interior to keep him warm as well as two slits to let his wings out. With the coat, he wears a pair of long ebony pants, with azure flames kissing the bottom of the smooth and flexible linen pants. He also wears a pair of subtle blue, lace up shoes, which at the rim along the area below the top between the laces and the sole there is a plating of bleached, light titanium for kicking. He also has a pair of fingerless gloves that have metal plating on the top of the hands with heavy studs on the knuckles, but a soft suede in-layer for the palms.

Weapons and Fighting Style:
Virgil fights mostly with his body, meaning he’s a physical fighter. He has calluses all along his hands and the soles of his feat and along with his leg based flexibility; the two make a good combo. He used a more comprehensive prodigious style that takes advantage of his eye sight and sharper senses to make fluid combo’s that hit were the enemy’s open.

As for weapons, Virgil wields an obsidian colored Axe with a white, iridescent shield that bears a Garuda head emblem in the center. He received the weapons from the Garuda spirit in the cave when he woke up and they were hidden in a suitcase given to him in the hospital he woke up at.

The Axe handle is about 2 feet long with a 1½ foot long head, bearing similar structure to the Japanese ‘Ono’ style axes sōhei warrior monks. The axe head is fairly one sided in cutting edge, but to balance the weight, a solid, stubby and heavy back head has been added for a more battering style attack, though it can still cut but not half as well as the bigger axe head that is built for cutting. The Axe itself weighs about 25 pounds, with a 15 pound shaft made of solid steel, titanium, and other metals and a cutting head made of obsidian, steel, titanium, compacted diamond, and other alloys. The smaller, but just as heavy back head of the axe is made of tungsten, Iron, steel, titanium, and other metals to add a heavy density and strength to smash people with. The obsidian adds the black hue to the axe head while it and the diamond create a deadly cutting edge with the durability and density made from the other stronger, yet more predominate metals. But since the smaller back head is not quite heavy enough to balance the much bigger cutting head, the cutting head has a hole in the center of the blade, in a style that represents a tradition done to weapons by the ancient Chinese, to make the blade lighter. The hole is about 4 inches in diameter in comparison to the cutting edge that is a 1 and a half long with a blade sticking out a good foot out from the shaft. The back head centers in the shaft and is on the other side of the Axe, being only a ¾ of a foot long and sticking out only 6 inches. The shaft itself is round, having an inch diameter and reaching the entire 3 and ½ feet that is the axe, though only two feet of the shaft actually shows. It is some what hard to grip, but Virgil’s gloves are designed to help hold the axe and keep it from flying out of his hands.

The shield is a round style shield, having a thin make and a 2 and a ½ foot diameter. The style of the shield is made to be almost like a buckler, to directly sweep attacks away, and is often used as such. The shield is about a ½ of an inch thick in solid steel, titanium, Iron and other lighter carbon alloys. The Garuda head sticks out another 4 inches with its intricate design and hardened stability, making the Garuda head a more stable and durable force. The head covers a diameter of a foot, meaning there is a ¾ foot space on all sides from the Garuda head and bear shield. Adjustable Leather straps hold the shield to Virgil’s arm, or wherever he’s carrying it. The shield weighs about 5 pounds and is sometimes worn on Virgil’s back when he isn’t flying.

Natural Abilities:
Wings and Flight
He also has a pair of giant, almost bird-like wings as well, grey with whitish hughs, similar to the color shade on the tips of his hair, towards the tips of the feathers on the bottom. They cover a total span from wing tip to wing tip of about 13-14 feet, meaning the wings cover an individual span of around 6 feet or a little more from the shoulder and the shoulder width and chest combines to around somewhere around 2 feet.

The wings are created from the Garuda inside him, and they can be summoned at will or retracted back into the body. Virgil’s flight endurance is about a good 5-7 miles at a time, depending on his condition. He also can fly at incredible speeds as well, but it usually varies on the wind as well as his strength level. The wings bone structure and bones are incredibly tough, almost like diamond, and are strong enough to deflect an array of attacks. As for the wings and membrane, they are not as strong as the bone, but more flexible and sleek, usually meaning that some attack may bounce or slide of the membrane and feathers.

Rioting Feathers
A unique feature of these wings is that the wings can be used as an attack mechanism via the feather. The feathers that make up the bottom of the wings and are the whitish color have a special function, in that he can activate an internal mechanism so that the spirit within him would sharpen and loosen those bottom feathers. What the spirit also does is that it also increases the density and fluidity of the feathers, meaning that if he flaps his wings with a decent amount of strength, the feathers would go flying at an incredible speed as if the were dagger being thrown by a professional dagger thrower. The sharpness of the feathers at along with such a momentum and original input of power means these feathers can be a deadly attack. At the rate it goes, it could easily rend through steel and flesh alike, and the amount of feathers per barrage is about 20 per wing. The direction of the throws are usually one directional and straight, but can be arced/curved if the angle of the wings is adjusted properly.

He can do about three 20 feather barrages for both wings per fight. Afterwards, he would need a 24 hour downtime to let the power recharge before he would be able to do it again. Any other attempts at this attack after the limit would be futile.

Enhanced senses and faster healing
Upon receiving the power of the Garuda, Virgil gained some much enhanced senses from the ancient monster. His eye sight is like that of an alpha bird of prey (Think 20/2 which is like that of a hawk) and acute senses of feeling and presence. His smelling is incredibly strong, like that of a dog’s, but his hearing is only minorly enhanced. Though, in human terms, is still quite amazing. He knows when someone enters the room, he can hear their heart beat, he can feel the shockwaves of their footsteps, and he can smell their scent.

As for healing talents, Virgil can take many, in human standards, fatal blows and still be alive. He has the capacity to heal better than even demons, but there is a cost to this. His Garuda spirit manages the healing, and does so by increasing the rate of healing reactions to such a pace that he can heal on the spot, but as the Garuda does this, it’s forcing Virgil’s body to burn ATP (energy used in metabolism, reaction, etc.) at an rapid rate, leaving Virgil much more weak and often, very hungry. The Garuda itself used to have to eat a lot in order to help recover from a wound faster, and thus Virgil has inherited this hindrance as well. But the eating effect is not a bad thing in general, since if Dante stays well fed, his aging slows down dramatically. (Average lifespan of a Garuda is 300-1000 years old. Oldest known Garuda alive is 2,900+)

Personality:
Virgil is a very calm, but quite adventurous man. He has a level head, yet he has a strong desire to seek the unknown and take risks in the process. He has an insatiable appetite for danger and destruction at times, and has an intense curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Thus, he is very well educated on all matters worldly (history, worldly cultures, religion and philosophy) and on the inter-workings of the world and its inhabitants (biology, psychology, and chemistry). As bold as he is, he is a kind person with an understanding and compassionate nature. He loves to help those in need, to give small favors, to do little things to make others feel good or make others lives better. He comes across as someone who’s more quiet but very well spoken when he speaks, someone who’s knowledgeable in worldly and academic matters alike. He is often called a metropolitan and holds no bigots or hatred towards any race or culture/belief. Also, he is agnostic, though catholic in background.

He likes flying, exploring, sparring, fish and rabbits prepared in any way, meat, vegetables, boxing, moonlight and dawns light, and running. He dislikes those bigot others, those who are unrightfully hateful, a lack in justice, rotting vegetables, and snakes (particularly cobras). In other talents, Virgil is quite a decent violin player and will play when he can, and also quite a well accomplished sketch artist. He can sometimes be seen with a brown leather violin case that has a strap holding a small, linen bound charcoal sketch book.

History:
Virgil was born in Rome around 1923 during the events that led to World War 2. He was raised in a higher-middle class house hold, being educated to a point that he would have a PhD in modern times and living a peaceful childhood till 16, when World War II really took off. His father, a doctor and supporter of the Axis Powers, signed him into the Italian army for the Axis powers, and through a string of several events, he was eventually moved up into a higher Nazi German-Italian squad that was called ‘Oberschnicht’ or ‘The Elites’.

During his one year with the crew, they fought in the battles of the Western Front, where in the trench standoff faze of the battle, Virgil and a friend of his got caught in a heavy crossfire, leaving Virgil shot in the left leg twice and his friend severely wounded in the torso. Virgil had to drag his friend back to an abandoned trench, were Virgil found a suspicious looking fire hole that he thought was an escape route. Virgil left his friend there after treating himself and his friend with a medical kit he found, and sought to use the supposed route to go find help.

He ran into a dank, pitch black cave, in which strange noises could be heard all about. Virgil, being the adventurous soul that he was, went deeper into the cave to see what was inside, and found the dying Garuda Attis. The Garuda was a race of giant dragon like birds with immense flying capabilities and strength beyond comprehension. They had intellect beyond that of human’s, in fact on a similar plane to that of dragons, and could speak quite eloquently, and when Virgil first heard the Garuda speak, he froze in a near terror panic. But Virgil calmed himself and heard about how a bomb was dropped into a whole leading into Attis’s cave and how Attis was severely wounded by it. Virgil was sincerely sympathetic to the creature and asked what he could do to help it. The Garuda, astonished by Virgil’s compassion and knowing he and Virgil were dying, told Virgil that he was certain to die, and said only his spirit could live on in a host. He said he was willing to sacrifice his body to save Virgil, and offered a deal to do so if Attis’s soul could live inside Virgil. Virgil, who at that point knew his leg may have to be amputated and if it was, it was going to kill him, agreed to this deal and watched as the body faded and his leg began to heal and his body began to change in many ways.

The Garuda knew that the war may kill him, and put him in a state of conscious hibernation for about a good 75-76 years. In that time, Virgil and Attis came to know and befriend each other over years and Attis educated Virgil further on many things, from history, to mathematics to the working of the mind in philosophy and the process of thinking and reasoning. After this educated hibernation, Virgil woke up not in the cave, but rather in a bed in eastern France after Attis temporarily took over his body for a day to fly his body over to the porch of a hospital, and hide his wings. The doctors said he had been in a coma for over a year, and when Dante checked the mirror, he saw the change of the color of the tips of his hair. After that point, Dante got educated in France for a course of 4 years and earned degrees in all the subjects he learned at home and with Attis. He earned enough money to pay of his loans over the course of a year, and then left to learn of the Garuda and his family.

Virgil learned that his family line had died a long time ago with a disease epidemic, and that he was the sole heir left to his family name. Knowing this, Virgil no longer felt any connection to the regular human world, and went into finding others like him and learning of the secrets that Earth has kept hidden over a veil in his life...

Weaknesses:
Since his metabolism moves very quickly when taking damage, he can be instantly starved to death if he takes enough damage at once or over a set course of time, that or his body will digest the muscles around his heart and he would die then and there. Also, since his sight and touch are enhanced, he feels much more pain when he can receive it and also he can be blinded by flashes much more easily.
