slivers and dragons can both be pretty nasty . Dragons are evil in a mana acceleration deck - I have a deck that gets a 10/5 out by 3rd turn .
Slivers can be nasty as well , especially if used with straegy . too many people make rainbow sliver decks without realizing that with some thinking and the right enchantments you can make a fairly usefull two color deck with them .

it all depends on the sorceries, instants, and enchantments of a deck before pickign a stongest creature. if your using green only mana acceleration, really expensive beasts are murderous if your using quick red burn, some goblins and some elementals are vicious if your using counterspells, the smallest blue creature is deadly if your using creature destruction. anything is evil. if your using coma (pacafism, stasis that type) anything small is deadly.
(just the absolutely most basic color strategies)
so there isn't one, if your trying to find one, you need to look at the deck that type is run in. Angels are deadly, but only if they are in a good deck. same with dragons, and just about any other creature type.

The Lady Giyan GreenRose25 How come I don't see wurms on the list My answer to that: A better wurm would be: My pick for a tough creature though would be: ninja but seriously, if the deck is investing in Fat, it should at least protect them from spot removals. oh, and the thread is about "tough? creatures" and not "how to deal with them". i think either Dragons or Wurms (over elementals) have the highest average p/t (no calculation, just a look-over) i just think Dragons are more iconic and got my vote.

wait if you mean biggest. Beast comes with some pretty nasty stuff. along with Dragon and Wurm.
so if you mean biggest card (P+T) then it's probably one of those three creature types.

Leviathan's are pretty tough, considering there are only three of them.
Seriously though, the toughest creatures , without using the Firebreathing ability a lot of dragons have, have to belong to green. He isn't sure whether to go with Wurms or Beasts though.

wombats,if used right,in about 6-8 turns you can get a 50/10 ish double life gain,pro creatures,vigilence that cant be the target of spells or abilities but as a single creature i would have to say solarion

Solarion is nice. Any creature, even BoP can be big with pumps. But creatures that are big on their own, and cost effective, I would have to say the convoke fatties are nice. Also, Phytohydra, Vinelasher Kudzu, and Rootkin Ally are nice if used right.
Other potential fatties are Scion of the Wild, Squirrel Mobb (Gang rape!), and Molimo, Maro Sorcerer.
But as for for creatures that are hard to get rid of, I'd say anything with toughness higher than 5, black, and can't be targeted by spells or abilities. Yup yup.

In all honesty.. I'd have to say Angels... Just for Akroma, Angel of Wrath and Pristine Angel... I have a semi-angel deck, and between Akroma, Pristine and Desolation Angel with the kicker, my foe is pretty much screwed. >>;
