(So, yeah... I got lame with the title XP) The medium-sized Kaaruni, tiny compared to the larger European and Japanese breeds of kyn, made her across the moss covered forest floor with ease. Perched on her shouder comfortably was the tiny Japanese second generation, Nishi. The brightly-colored female was preening her left wing as Kaaruni picked her way through their territory in silence.(( Kaaruni and Nishi))

((You're two girls and my two guys I suppose. xD Tranduil and Dahn Tau)) Tau growled to himself, trudging around the forest, following afer his 'brother' Dui, who was flying above the trees. Dui and himself were just out hunting together, looking for their own meals for the day, since their guardian felt it was high time they stopped depending on her so much. At least it was a nice day...He sniffed the ground, and instead of food, smelled fellow kyns. Funny...he didnt realize earlier.

The lunar kyn's nose twitched as a new scent drifted to her through the wind - that of intruding male kyns. Well, not technically intruding. It was the outskirts. But it was often difficult to argue logistics with Kaaruni. With an uneasy swipe of her tail and flick of her ears, Kaaruni bolted off in the direction of the scent.
Nishi issued a squeak in protest of the rapid change of pace, tiny hindclaws digging into the thick pelt of the lunar kyn disgracefully as she quickly folded her wings. Her free ride had just gotten a lot rougher, though she wasn't in a place to abandon her friend.
Kaaruni slowed as she neared the walking male, coming to a gradual trot and then a full stop about fifteen yards away. A fallen tree and numerous shrubbery had its place between her and this oddly shaped male lunar kyn. She pricked her ears at him, and simply stared.
Nishi deatched herself from the black and red lunar, flapping into the air and gliding over with a merry 'kyu!' on her lips. She hovered near him, about five feet at an angle in the air. "Good afternoon." She was all cheers and politeness, not once considering herself in danger due to her miniscule size.

Dahn Tau stopped walking as soon as Kaaruni appeared. Turning so he could stare back at her as she was at he, he blinked in mild surprise and even a bit of wonder.
As Nishi greeted him, he slowly turned to the hovering kyn, and gave a nod. "Afternoon small stranger." He mumbled. "And to you as well." He lowered his head in a sort of bow.
Trandui, noticing he wasn't being followed by his 'brother' any more, turned to glide back and landed on the ground in a clearing not far off. He wriggled back, weaving through the trees to see what Tau was doing. "Dahn, what are...oh. Why, Greetings!" He stopped, standing behind the lunar kyn, his body wrapped around a couple trees.

With hesitation, Kaaruni approached the other lunar kyn as her companion had. Her ears remained pricked forward, leg muscles tensed uneasily. Unlike Nishi, she didn't believe in the kindness of everyone.
The little japanese kyn landed on a nearby branch with a bright smile across her face. Unlike the appearance of Banshou or Shinju when smiling, Nishi ddn't display her fangs in the gesture. "You mat call me Nishi. Who are you and what brings you towards our home?"
She gave a chirp at the appearance of the second male, bowing her long neck and head lightly towards him. "Good afternoon to you as well!"
"Certainly a strange time for many meetings." Kaaruni grumbled under her breath as she approached, stepping carefully through the thick underbrush before halting a under her female friend. "Kaaruni." She stated shortly. She wasn't trying to be rude, simply guarded.

"My name is Dahn Tau. Either for short." Dahn, noticing how tense Kaaruni was, kept his head low, to make sure he didn't seem threatening. He wasn't here to intrude on anothers land, just a hunt for a meal. "We were unaware that anyone or thing resided here. Be sure we are merely here to..." He was cut short by Dui's laughter.
Dui walked forward, chuckling to himself, and stopped when he was at the male lunar's side. "Ahhh, I don't think there's any reason for you to be so darn formal and defensive, you dolt." He turned to nod at Nishi and Kaaruni. "We're jus' lookin' for a meal. We live under the same cave roof, if you know what I mean, and our caretaker jus' felt it was high time we stopped eatin' her outa her house and 'ome. Or cave. Tranduil's the name."
Dahn sighed heavily. His 'brother' could be such a dope. A BIG dope. A big, cheery, no sense whatsoever dope. "Dui...her mumbled. We might be making them feel uncomfortable. My apologies." At this, Dui just roared in laughter.
"Always formal, that he is." Dui grinned and smacked Dahn hard on the back with his tail, perhaps hitting him a wee bit harder than he intended. "Don't you mind him."

Kaaruni flicked her ears, more amused now than anything. Apparently the other male coming into plain view had calmed her. She was curious about this male lunar with his strange appearance. Out of her clan, she was the only lunar and she had never seen another before, so this one's strange appearance unsettled her a bit. "Where do you two hail from?"
Nishi gave another high-pitched chirp. "Kaaruni and I, likewise, are from the same clan. Our territory border is actually a mile or so towards the south, deeper in the forest. And it's nice to meet you both."
"We don't get many visitors, seeing how far from everyone we live." The impression was that this lunar kyn didn't mind that seclusion.
"It's nice to see new faces though. I'm afraid except for our brothers that we haven't met other kyn before."

Dahn Tau pointed his nose behind him, near the north. "A few more miles that way the trees sort of thin out. Our human hatched us and our sisters and brother in some caverns near a small lake." He turned back to looked at Kaaruni, who, he was aware by now, wasn't used to his appearances. He sighed inwardly.
"Pond, actually." Tranduil. "It's much to small to be considered a lake."
Dahn Tau glared at his older 'brother' again. "Lake, pond, fishing hole, pool, its all the same to me."
Tranduil shrugged and turned to smiled at the small Nishi. "The pleasure is ours, I'm sure." He made a kyn bow, and honestly, looked quite silly doing it. "I've only met one other kyn outside our home, and to be truthful, we didn't talk much. Tau wasn't even out of eggshell then." He patted the lunar kyn on the back with a black claw. He really didn't know how much stronger he was. Dahn had to brace himself against the pats to avoid being flattened.
"So." Dahn growled at Dui. "May I ask to why you ladies were out here? Taking a walk, perhaps?"
"Lovely ladies, Dahn. You always forget the lovely." Dui smiled at Nishi, then Kaaruni. "It seems my Dahn doesn't always have the best of manners."

Nishi and Kaaruni both looked in the direction that Dahn Tau turned his nose in, both offering sounds of affirmation in return.
Kaaruni shifted her weight slightly, ears flicking backwards once before straightening out. She seemed to struggle with relaxing or staying on edge, two parts of her personality doing a mental tango. She was used to being alone, save for Nishi. Used to being picked on by the larger kyn in the clan, or ignored. Used to protecting her human. Being treated with kindness from complete strangers was something that unsettled her, especially with Tau looking at her as if she'd done something wrong already.
Nishi gave a bright trill from her long neck, which looped about itself lightly before untangling. "You two squabble like Banshou and Asayake." Her equivalent of a smile was still present, which was perhaps the closest a kyn maw could turn up at the corners in resemblance to a human smile. Unlike her brothers and sisters, Nishi did not perform an open-mawed smile that flashed fangs. Perhaps a trait she got from her father.
She chuckled again at the other's bow, little wings flapping. Despite being able to easily fit inside Tranduil's mouth and probably find it a comfortable bed, she had no fear of the larger kyn. "Flattery!" She chirruped the word lightly, performing a tight loop-de-loop in mid-air before continuing to pump her small wings to remain aloft in the same place.
Kaaruni flicked her left ear, again, at the comment from Dui to her. And then pointedly decided to ignore it. "A territorial sweep, checking the numbers of the herds nearby. They're migrating a lot recently, and it seems we've something new in our territory boundaries every day." Okay, so she was pointed.
"Walking, yes. It's a beautiful day, despite the chilled air." Nishi corrected the older lunar kyn, still smiling.

Dahn blinked then gave his best grin at Nishi's comment about he and his brother. "Yes, I suppose we squabble often." He stated, giving his tail a quick flick, perhaps even a bit proud of himself. For what we shall never know. Turning back to Kaaruni, he had loosened up quite a bit, he was determined to help this other lunar do the same. "Territorial sweep eh? Well we'll be sure to be careful about where we go about picking lunch. We shan't harm the herds here." His tail pumped back and forth at the thought of food.
Tranduil nodded to his brother briefly. Seems as if some manners were hidden in that think lunar skull. Dui faced the hovering Nishi, and looked at her questioningly. Silently, he offered her his head, allowing the small kyn to take a rest on his horns if she liked. "Flattery..." He began, "Is the best form of speech. Especially when it's true." He winked at her, chuckling inwardly.

Nishi offered a small chuckle in response to Dahn Tau, the pride and interactions of the two continually reminding her of Banshou and Asayake. With more manners than her older brother.
Kaaruni watched the other lunar kyn, snorting lightly at his tail swishing immaturely from side-to-side. "You're on the borders now. No harm in it yet." She stressed her final word, voice dropping a notch when she hit it.
The small Japanese kyn flicked her wings to line up with the offered horns, and dropped down onto them lightly. She took a moment to fold her wings behind her, dipping her long neck over her shoulder to preen a moment before twisting it back to peer at Tranduil.
"And so is chivalry." Human-like smile still tipped her facial features, though at a closer range it was less human and more kyn-like.

The wind started with a light breeze on the quartet of kyn, ruffling the grass and leaves. It got stronger, and quite suddenly it became clear that it was coming mostly from above-- very strange behavior for wind. It became stronger and stronger, threatening to whip tiny Nishi off her perch. Trees were being stripped of their weakest leaves, and suddenly the treetops parted from the sheer force of the wind, saplings bending down and pressing to the ground as though some force was pushing them aside.
A form blotted out the sun. It was massive. And it was descending.
It was also slightly farsighted and noticed suddenly that the creatures on whom it was descending, pinned down by the force of its wind, were not in fact deer but were instead kyn. He frowned and moved himself a bit, not so graceful as he once was, and passed forward, gliding. His wings were trembling with effort, but he held on and landed safely away from the kyn-- though the concussive force of his setdown nearly knocked them over.
Lorne sheepishly poked his enormous head out over them. "Wow, I'm sorry, really... I didn't hurt anybody, did I?" He coughed, making a point of not coughing at them, as the force of his lungs ejecting a cough might blow poor Nishi off into the forest.

Dahn Tau toppled over, the unexpected wind throwing him off balance completely. Whatever pride he had had was tossed aside as he landed in a position quite undignified for a lunar kyn such as he. He blinked, mouth open in complete and utter surprise. "What?!" He could only manage to sputter.
Tranduil had wrapped his long body around himself and lowered his head, trying his hardest to protect small Nishi from the strong gusts of air. Now he unraveled himself, slowly, and peered at the overly large kyn. "I'm hoping Tau's ego is the only thing hurt here, stranger. That was terribly sudden and certainly unexpected. But I shall forgive, this time since we have just met." He stood as tall and strong as he could, an eye raised in the new kyns direction.
Dahn Tau righted himself as quickly as he could, hair on the back of his neck standing on end. He gave a deep growl, but gave up as soon as Dui glared at him to be quiet and let it go for now. If Dahn could have blushed, he would have been a nice solid color of red by now. Instead of acting embarassed, however, he sat down hard. "Hmmph." Then..."Are you alright, Miss Kaaruni?" He was being strangely polite.

The wind picked up lightly, ruffling through Kaaruni's fur. The scent of the other kyn was shoved down at her from above, and instinctively she braced herself. Clawed feet dug into the dug, leg muscles tensed, ears pinned back, and she snarled upwards as the power increased. All her effort was to no success as she was knocked off her feet.
Nishi gave an ill-mannered squawk, appreciating the cover that Tranduil offered her completely. The initial gust had almost ripped her off of him, and she held her wings pinned against her back to prevent any stray bursts from taking them from their sockets.
After the shockwave of the landing, Kaaruni was on her feet and snarling again. Her fur was ruffled, her ears pinned against her skull. Pride wasn't something she disgarded easily, nor was this invasion. Her tail curled over her back, which was facing Dahn Tau, Nishi, and Tranduil. So it seemed in this awkward situation she did indeed trust the strange looking lunar kyn and his brother. She was beyond words.
Poor little Nishi was huddled against Tranduil, shaken from her close-call. She wasn't used to shifting winds like what ocurred in the upper levels of flight. Her small frame was better suited to low-altitude flying where it was safer. Or at least, it had been safer until this giant showed himself.

He coughed again. "I'm really sorry. I'm... I thought you were deer, was all. And so I came down to hunt... I'm really glad I recognized you as kyn before I landed. My name's, uh... Lorne." His cheeks were darkening in color. "I'm really, really sorry. If anyone's hurt, I can give you a ride back to your den... are... did I hurt anyone?" He seemed deeply concerned, and rightly so-- he constantly feared that he would turn around and crush someone with his tail, or that he'd be sleeping by the woods and roll over on some poor Lunar.
