I am currently taking an old canvas jacket that's got a bit of a steamy look to it and embroidering cogs and chains and those sorts of things. Got my first cog done, but it looks horrible to me. I'm not good at keeping circles straight. I even had the pattern traced down to the fabric and I could see the whole thing. It didn't come out too straight, though. -u-; Anyone have any embroidering tips for me? Circular tips would be much appreciated. :3

It really depends on how big your circle is. I've done a few and they've been about the size of a dime (not sure what country you're from, but imagine the size of your thumbnail). Anyways, when I did do something bigger it was harder to keep it even and circular. When I did, I had to double up on a few stiches, and most slightly overlapped anyways. Fabric stiffner would be great. I know canvas is fairly stiff, but the more so you can make it the straighter things come out for me. If your needle comes out haphazardly (because the fabric is too stiff) and is hard to pull through, put a bit of lotion on it.
Cheers, I hope you'll post it when you're through!
