Nyx had risen early and snuck out of the den she shared with Shu'reh and Usiku. She wanted to see the dark newcomer again. She'd never gotten a name from him...but that would change today. She wanted to show him around, maybe convince him to stay. They needed more members, and he seemed like such a kind, wise soul.
The black and white lioness made her way to the guest dens, smile on her maw and the feather he'd given her hanging from a dark leather cord around her neck, accompanied by deep red garnet and near-colorless aquamarine beads. When she reached the guest dens, she found the dark lion's easily enough and scratched on the stone to 'knock'.

He had his eyes closed as she approached, and he grinned inwardly as he felt her presence. It was so easy, to hide himself, hide here, and he was relishing the notions of everything he was planning. But something gnawed slightly on his stomach, but he knew not what it was.
Katana'k pretended to yawn and rubbed his eyes, his pupiless eyes that seemed to glow in the darkness of the guest dens, he pretended to hide himself.
"Is that my light who gently calls?" he soothed from his tongue. Stood and shook himself, kept his wings tightly pulled against his back under the illusion so she would not see, his horns hidden, his tiny wings on his forearm pushed underneath his armor.
Oh what a warrior of the world he was.
"Come to show me more of this place? More of your eyes?"

She held herself a little bit higher, a little more spring in her step. It was nice, being called someone's light rather than the other way around. "I've come to show you around, yes." Her smile was bright. "There's so much to see! Mother...found a wonderful place to settle in." Another testament to her mother's leadership skills, that she'd chosen this place. It was defensible...but also comfortable. And full of life, even without the pride. She waited just inside the entrance, her tail switching back and forth lazily. She had a feeling today would be a good day! How could it not be, when she had someone new to talk with, to show around?

To be shown around? Wonderful, so he could plan every move, find every entrance way and other form, though her mother, family? "Your family is here then? Just wonderful, family must be a wonderful thing indeed," he found himself rambling a bit, but perhaps it suited this character he played. "I barely remember my mother, and my father was just a vague figure, my brother knew him more, perhaps someday I will find them both," and settle the score, that's what he wanted.
Now to test the wters.
"I heard stories when I was young, I can't remember who, with my eyes you see," oh he was good with words, "about gods and goddess that existed, perhaps one could give back my sight, but such things, I don't know what to believe. Some makes sense, but other times, ah well, I'm not sure," he stretched and strode to her, walked past and stopped, 'needing' to be led.
"Show me more of this place my light? I wish to spend more waking moments with you," he offered a gentle smile.

She deflated a little at the question about her family. "I...have a great deal of family here. Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. But..." She paused as she caught up with him, to lead him around the lands. "Direct family...It's just my sister and I." Just she and Shu'reh were left. Oh, she had half-sibs. But they weren't the same. They only shared half the blood that ran through her. But she fought off the sadness and smiled. She could let go later. "I've...never heard of such a thing. But, I imagine it is possible. There seem to be gods for everything!" Like Leadership. And Darkness. "So...one must exist that can bring you sight again!" She was certain of it.

He walked some in silence, stopped and looked towards her, where she would think he looked somewhat blindly. How much should he reveal this soon? How much should he bait her to him, earlier the better, but her voice, would she keep his secret, or expose him to this place? "Would you fear them my light? Fear their possibilities, fear their eyes?"
He turned to face her, blinked several times, and let his wings shift invisible to her eyes, but longing to stretch out to touch her, he grinned, swaying his tail, armor heavy on his face and arms.
It was amazing she had not dare come closer to touch his side yet, but, he assumed, she was not like the other females who he had tricked before. Different, she was different, but had her name. Was it the name that had him draw close to her?
"Tell me, so I might know."

Would she fear them? She smiled and shook her head. "No. I would not fear them. Do not fear them." She'd met two gods, and they gave her no reason to fear them. "Why should I fear them? Perhaps there are gods of evil out there...but they exist because those things exist. It is not their fault for existing." She blinked and tilted her head at him. "Why do you ask, dark one?"

"Curiosity, as I have heard stories on the wind of them," he said making it appear he was shrugging off her answer, but with charm. But something itched at the corners of his mind, she did not fear, why? He peered in her direction, trying to make sense of things.
Had she met any?
Had she met her?
Quite troublesome if she had. He shook his head, his mane falling and half covering his face as he did so. "Curiosity my light, and I wonder why you show no fear in things that sometimes have horrible tales? You and strong, surely, and have strength in your heart."

Nyx chuckled. "Perhaps I am strong. But...I just say what makes sense to me. It's the way my mother raised me. And...I've met two gods. They gave me no reason to fear them, though the first most would have feared." She chuckled. "So...what is your name, dark one? You never told me."

"Two gods? My way, my light has made herself at the ready up to a challenge, very interesting indeed. My name-" he stopped for a moment. WHy lie again when all he had said was already a fabrication, he had to say something of truth. "My name is Katana'k, my light, and the reason why I am curious of these others would mean a great deal more if you only knew."
He was baiting her again, he knew it, would she fall for the trap? He wished to entwine her into his game, cage her and never let go. Oh he was so sneaky, such a beast on the inside.

"Katana'k..." The name seemed to roll off her tongue. And somehow...it seemed to fit him perfectly. She liked it. And his statement made her curious...Well, even more curious. There was so much about him she didn't know, and she wanted to know more. "Know what, Katana'k?" She looked to him with curious red eyes.

His wings hidden by the illusion as well as his horn ached to be shown. They were tightly held and he needed to stretch them, but if he did they would make a motion and blur the illusion over them. He grinned, supposed pupil-less eyes watching her, and he flicked his tail and he stopped, just watching her. "A secret my light, one that I have to hide most of my days unless alone, but here, with you, I feel like I must hide it further, for fear of what others might see or think," he played the card so well of his supposed wish to not have assumptions made.
He really had no care of what others thought, he merely cared to find and destroy his brother, play a few games here and there, but this game with her, Nyx, made it so much more fun day by day.
"Can you keep secrets my light? Even from those you feel closest to?"

A...secret? Something in Nyx told her to pull away, to hide away...But she couldn't. Not now. And not from him. Not from her dark one. And...she deserved a secret of her own. Something she could hold onto, no matter what.
"I can." Her voice had quieted, though was very, very serious.

Katana'k smiled at her, "And you are unafraid? I knew my light had strength," he let his wings fall from there perch and the illusion blurred, some color coming in and out like a strange shadow, the same with his horn but they did not show. "Do not be afraid my light," he reached to his own wing he held out before him and pulled a feather from it again, having it appear from thin air, and the strange shadow.
"I've traveled for so long and never found a spot, someone to trust to show of mortals, I've met some, yes, but most just have their own plans for me," he held the feather out to her again, his armor heavier now, "perhaps I should release it for one, show someone, a trusting, you," he let the illusion fall and his armor shined, his horns long and sharp, wings large and somewhat tattered both the ones on his back and the bat-like ones on his forearms.
"And I can see you my light, Nyx, these eyes were given to me to help hide from those who only want power, but I can see, and I see clearly that you are unlike all of the others," would she run?
If she did, he would ctach her before she got too far. How would she react?

She took the feather he offered, then let out a quiet gasp as he revealed himself. She didn't run...she was too startled. She'd been beside a god this whole time. It was a little shocking, moreso because she LIKED this male. The first god she'd met, she'd only been a cub. The second, was more of a father figure to the entire pride (save Nana of course). But this one...
She was different. She knew it. But...what 'different' about her did he see? "Well...this is unexpected. Pleasant, but unexpected." Nyx smiled, shaking off her shock. "Thank you...for trusting me."
