Name: Mya
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: DragonHealing/Healing (Her studies are more focused on the Dragonhealing though)
Rank: Sr. Apprentice/Candidate

History: Mya certainly had not been an expected child; her mother, a Dragonhealer of Telgar Weyr, had accompanied her partner, a Brown Rider by the name of S'yn to the Flight of his Dragon Yunth. What happened next was a blur to the Healer and within several sevendays, she found out she was expecting. As a first-time mother, she was nervous. However, she could not bring herself to give the child to a foster mother and forget about her; nor would S'yn forgive her for such a thing. (The Brown Rider doesn't really follow Telgar's way of "ignore it and it will go away". This had gotten the rider in trouble a few times over the course of many Turns.)

Instead, she raised Mya herself. It was within the Turns after she learned to read and write, walk and talk is when her mother started to teach her the basics of DragonHealing. During her childhood, she was kept away from her father though she knew who and what he was mostly due to her mothers' stories about him. However, there was very little Deina could teach her daughter by her own hand; the end result was Mya being taken to Healer Hall at the age of nine turns. There, she trained under her Master for the next few turns until she turned fifteen. By that time, she was Searched by a Green Rider and brought back to Telgar for the last eggs that laid upon the Sands. However, the greens hatched and she had not impressed.

Even so, she continues working in the Weyr. Furthering her skills in medicine and learning new ways to cure Dragons and Humans should sickness or Thread rise up.

Appearance: While a native child of the Weyr, she inherited much of her mother's appearnce traits while gaining much of her personality traits from her father, so she doesn't look like someone who is use to the hard rough and tumble world within the Weyr walls.

Pale skin that looks like it doesn't see much sun and burns easily from the sun, Mya wears a long-sleeved tunic to keep such a thing from happening. This also explains why she keeps a skin of water close by at all times as well. Her hair, a dark-blonde/brown, is kept tied into a loose ponytail at the base of her neck with a string of leather while bright green eyes are shadowed by a few bangs that have escaped the binding of the ponytail. Her hands from fingertips to the wrist are bound with bandages to prevent her hands from getting ruined by numbweed ment for patients' wounds.

Despite all her plus features to her boyfriends' eyes, she cannot help but feel disappointed about her five foot stature and slender frame. It often makes the young female appear younger than she is. Mya isn't about to let this put her at odds with the Riders and Dragons though.

Personality: Mya was born with a personality fitting for someone diving into the healing arts; kind and gentle, she has "the patience of a Weyrleader", as her boyfriend had stated one oh so many times. It natural though, considering most of her patients are fairly uncooperative in a way. (She often cares for children when she is not caring for Dragons) At the same time, she is also quite firm and unwavering; she's capable of butting heads with other people but the outcome is almost always unpredictable. Her passion for healing and helping others helps the young lass overcome a few of the hardheaded folks in the Weyr.

Unfortunately, no person is without their flaws; even those who try their hardest to hide them from the rest of the world. With Mya comes the natural frustration when someone doesn't do their part, whether this is their cooperation in any treatment or doing work around the Weyr with the other Candidates. While not liking to yell or scream, she does her best to get her point across when her temper does flare up. One of her highest "pet peeves" is attitude of people around her, especially those who hold themselves in higher regard than others. Mya does her best to defend she holds close to her heart against these people; enemies is not something she wants within her lifetime. But, if they should come forward, she tries her best to make peace with them; if this shouldn't work, the young healer uses the flee response (she often uses a small vial of numbweed salve she carries with her medical supplies to help those in trouble and herself gain a few seconds of a headstart).

Authority is something Mya usually has no problem with; but if they request something or do something that's idiotic and pointless, that's when she starts to rebel against them. Again, while she doesn't use physical blows, she's more than capable of saying a few choice words about the subject. As for worries or woes (despite the one constantly lingering about the "ignore it and it will go away" rule in Telgar), Mya is prepared to deal with them when they come up. In her mind, there's no use worrying about the future when you have the present to worry over.

Other: In Character, Mya has a Flit companion that serves as a "Nurse Flit" of sorts. (It serves as a distraction for her patients while she's tending to their wounds, especially if the patient is of young age.) However, I am willing to say that the Flit is back with her Master back at Healer Hall due to some incident until I am able to uptain one in the shop.

Overall, looking good!

I'm going to have to ask you to expand the personality, however, just to make it easier for us to match her with a potential dragon. More obvious flaws would be a start, but also how she gets along with others (both who she likes and dislikes), how she feels about authority, her passions other than healing and any sort of worries/anxieties she may have.

Add to what you've got and you'll be good to go. <3
