This sticky shall be for the blatantly dumb among the ordinary folk. These shall not be those who attract the attention of journalists daily, for they can be derided at any time, anywhere. This is for those who need but lack derision: your bosses, teachers, classmates, neighbors, and your fellow Gaians who slipped into the pool of Dumb and emerged sopping wet, oozing stupidity from every pore.

First on the wall of Dumb: crisb_2002 - this Twitard has this image as her sig pic and a big 'ol premade Twilight profile. I don't even have to think of a snarky comment for this one. She did it to herself. Her current avi theme is a rainbow-afro'd clown with tongue lolling. I'm normally unconcerned with how avis look, but for this case, suppose it's fitting. EDIT: I didn't think it was fair to call her dumb and not tell her to her e-face, so I left a comment on her profile - "Your sig pic is dumb." She hotly responded with an ad hominem attack and put me on IGNORE so I couldn't respond to her comment. One mission of notifying the dumb down...millions to go.

Ewww....
My [former] English teacher told us that factcheck.org is nonpartisan and a credible source, and implied--heavily--that sources students used for the research paper would be checked against that site. O.O
And she was just generally a sucky teacher. I bailed.

...Why does everyone seem to know about that site but me? I just found out about it like two weeks ago... the last review for this teacher says 'RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!' all in caps.
It's funny though, her reviews from a couple years ago are pretty positive. Maybe she had a mid-to-late life crisis or something.

-Test question: race is a biological fact. True or false. Despite all evidence to the contrary, the answer is false.
-Same teacher: "Examples of myths include the Bible..."
-Psychology book: "Note that the word conscience is different from the word conscious, even though they look and sound similar."
-Classmate: "What does the word caucasian mean?"
-Teacher didn't appear to know the answer.
-Moral anxiety is the new word for guilt. stare
-Classmate (on how to make an essay fill up more space): "Never use contractions--" This being a college class, contractions are off limits anyway. And MLA format pretty much negates most of the other suggestions; which include choosing a font that takes up more space even though the length requirement is in terms of word count, not number of pages.
On the whole, I'm about ready to strangle someone. Probably an atheist someone. See bullets one and two.

Oddly enough, she is. Both are. I think the atheist teacher has a largely atheist class. They seemed to agree with her.
The one that doesn't know what a caucasian is gave a vague non-answer that everyone seemed to accept.

On the subject of haves and have nots, supposedly the way to help Africa has nothing to do with foreign aid... if we all would just buy fewer [new] things, that would help. If we start having less, clearly they would have more as a result.
In short, the way to solve Africa's problems is to shop at thrift stores. This was stated explicitly. "Shop at thrift stores instead of buying new things, this will help Africa where foreign aid will not."
Smiley says it all:

I am reminded of the ancient parental injuction, "Eat all the food on your plate, there are starving children in Africa!" As if one affected the other, indeed.
Interesting note: the usable refuse, or thrift shop items, of the West, makes its way into Africa via donations and is sold to Africans at an affordable (one hopes) cost. 21st century classrooms may have computers from the 1980s that were once in New York offices and so forth. Really, that should be an incentive to NOT shop at thrift shops, as that would mean more donations to Africa!

Why doesn't this place have more posts? I get a kick out of reading about all the fail you guys have found.
On the former topic of crisb_2002, I hate it when they block you out. I was having a lovely argument with someone about an incident where the words of the Pledge were altered into some goofy lyrics and then the original poster gets the mods to lock the topic.
.__. it felt like a slap in the face.

If you were busily proving that the offender was an a**, then yes, it was a slap. How dare you make a sinner feel guilty? Don't you know they're supposed to enjoy being asses without getting called on it? (If I read your statement correctly, that is.) EDIT: You know I'm being sarcastic, I hope.
More Fail: Effing Ignorant Foreigners. By which I mean non-Americans, in their own countries or not, who ignorantly believe that all Americans are just like George W. Bush, and cheerily bash, to your face or your e-face,
1) GW Bush 2) American policies 3) American culture 4) American history (as in "you guys stole land from Indians and enslaved Blacks, oooh")
What they fail to realize is how very American they sound....how super, liberal Leftist they behave, and how so very, very well they would fit in our Effing Ignorant Liberal universities. Tell any one of the bashers "Why, you sound just like an American!" and you will get the same shocked, affronted disdain that you would get from dripping water on a cat's back.

Oh right. I forgot that in most states, making someone feel guilty is illegal.
I like the Effing Ignorant titles. America bashing is pretty lulzy, overall =/

I find Brits trying to do American/southern accents (GWB imitation) pretty funny.
Greenday is annoying though. They have some good songs, but they're a little out there politically. And they're Canadian.
I'd like to nominate an announcement I saw when I signed in for the first time in about two weeks... It's from December 21st. It was announcing a minigame 'just in time for the holidays.' The last day of Hanukkah was the 20th.

Ok, maybe this doesn't belong in here as it's a very small and petty kind of dumb, perhaps the dumbness is on my part...but there's this girl who
1) does hard work in school 2) has a lot of talent 3) has time to help others
4) won't help.
I can't even imagine that. She said once she is really competitive, but that can't possibly translate to our class. Her work is head and shoulders above the rest of ours, and helping others would be a benefit all around. But when I ask her, she gets all coy and pretends she doesn't know how to do things. I hate that!
Her stealing friends and trying to consolidate power to herself is by the by. I could forgive all that if she'd share what she does know. I mean, that could only raise her status and give her more stability if she offered help...but nooo....either she never helped anyone else in her nearly 30 year old life or she's more insecure than words can say. Gahhh!
EDIT: It was also dumb of me to write this in class. If I ever learn how to text on the phone and desire to pay large internet connection fees, I will text my peeves instead of type. Dang.
