Roy
c-support Roy: [wanders in] So this is the bath huh...? It doesn't seem like anyone's here right now...so I guess I'll take a dip. [undresses, then carries towel with him into the water] Marina: [snooze, then snorts awake] Huh? Roy: Wah! [splashes about for a moment in surprise] Roy: Ah...it's you...I didn't know anyone else was here. Marina: Ah! [immediately slinks further under the water so only her head's visible and lowers her voice] General Roy. I'd hoped to speak to you later, but...in a more formal atmosphere. Roy: [standing, but lower half is submerged, towel folded on his head] Oh? You were wanting to speak to me? Well...here's fine, no? [takes a seat across from Marina against a rock, then slides a little under the water so that everything below the shoulders is submerged] Marina: [shifts anxiously] Y-yeah. About your father... Roy: Mm... [looks to the side] Yeah...he disappeared from Pherae after the war was over even though he was still struggling with his illness. I think he might have somehow wandered over to this continent thanks to the door. Marina: I...see. In that case, I can sympathize. And I believe I owe you an apology, General. Roy: An apology...? For earlier? [looks over at Marina curiously] Marina: Yes...My concerns were focused upon getting into the country unnoticed. The concerns of others didn't occur to me, so I was willing to send anyone back to satisfy the needs of the group. Now that I know the entirety of your story, I'm ashamed at how I behaved earlier. ...My father is dead, and I wish I could just go out and find him but I can't. So while there's still hope for your own, it's not my place to deny you that. Roy: ...Ah. I'm sorry...about your loss. [looks up] I lost my mother before, when I was small. However, I found her here, of all places. And all of a sudden, my family's grown. If I could find my father, we could be a happy family again. [closes eyes] My mother...she really misses Father. She can hide it all she wants, but I know the mere mention of his name brings tears to her eyes. [looks over at Marina] To bring peace to both myself and my mother, I'll keep looking for my father. No matter how long it takes. I forgive you. [smiles gently] Marina: Hah, good...I may not be a tactician anymore, but strife within a legion is still not something I'll stand for. Especially if I'm the reason for it. No hard feelings, then? Roy: None taken. [grins] So you're a tactician as well? Marina: [nods] Used to be, back in Magvel. I hung up my cloak when my father died. Roy: Ah...I don't know how I ended up as the tactician and the general for my army. The duty was...kinda forced upon me. After the war, I too put away the tactician cloak, figuratively speaking. Marina: It's not really worth it, having so many lives at stake under your command, is it? Roy: It certainly isn't. I didn't have that much knowledge as a tactician anyway...I just...went with what I thought was best. Sometimes...I wonder if we could have won the war with fewer casualties on both sides, if my decisions were really the right ones. [sighs] Marina: Rationalize all you want, no matter how many you lose in the war, it's still too many. [reaches out for her towel but can't exactly reach it from her sunken spot in the water] Do you, um...mind? Roy: That's true...what's done is done. [looks up at her curiously] Hey, we're both guys here. Nothing to be embarrassed about. But if it means that much to you... [looks away and closes eyes] Marina: Hah, right, both guys here... [raises out of the water and grabs her towel] Roy: Hey, can I ask you something? [eyes still closed] Marina: [pauses, hand still on towel] Yes, General? Roy: What was your reason for coming along with us to Sentria? Is it only to help Alihi find her daughter? Marina: ...Family means a lot to me. I don't know either of those girls personally, but if I were in that situation I would hope to have aid in any form possible. That's why I'm here. Roy: Ah...[nods gently] Yeah...my family's been broken since the beginning, starting with my mother's disappearance. If I can, I don't want anyone else to suffer losing both parents. So I'll help too. Marina: Yeah. [wraps the towel around herself and steps out] I only call you 'General' for formality, you know. But I think I understand why everyone else does, now. Roy: Even though it's just a formality...I'm no longer leading an army. Calling me by my name seems to be more appropriate than with the title. [hears Marina step out of the water] Can I...open my eyes now? Marina: [cautiously gathers up her clothes, holding them to her body as she keeps her back to him] Sure. It's been nice talking to you, then...Roy? If you prefer without the title. Roy: [opens his eyes and looks up at her] It was nice talking to you too. Yeah...that's fine. [pauses] You're...unusually slender for a guy, now that I took notice... Marina: [hesitates] Well, a towel is hardly flattering... Roy: Even so...it beats having to second guess your gender, with you wearing those dark clothes and all. Marina: [pauses, then slowly turns towards Roy] ...Just what are you getting at, Roy? Roy: I'm just trying to find out if it really was a good idea to take a bath at the same time as you. If I'm accusing you of being a girl when you're a guy, I apologize. Your body is slender, you have a feminine face, and yet your voice is gruff. My first guess was that you're a feminine-looking male, but that doesn't explain why the towel goes up to cover the chest. We're both guys here...right? Marina: ... [drops her gruff tone] God, you're persistent. Roy: Wha...? [blushes deeply, realizing the truth] Oh...crap... [hides face] I'm so sorry! Marina: Don't be. You caught me, I was reckless. [winks] Roy: Gah...If I had known, I would have waited for you to finish! [slowly looks up at her, blushes at the wink, then hides face again] Marina: If you had known, then I'd be putting on a pretty horrible ruse. Secret's safe with you, then? Roy: [nods slowly, then looks up at her again] Yeah...I'll keep it secret...you can count on me. Marina: Thank you, General. [a slight smile, then exeunt] Roy: Good night. [sighs, then looks at the ceiling] Why does she need to hide her gender...? She's pretty cute.

Blossomc-supportMarina: [returns from the bath all wrapped up] Still alive there, kid?Blossom: [looks up] Uh? Of course. Did you, um, have a good bath?Marina: It was...interesting, that's for sure. Did you have a good...staying-in-this-room-and-moping, I'd assume?Blossom: Moping? That's not it at all. And I did NOT just stay in the room, thanks, I went and got myself some dinner.Marina: Hah, there's hope for you yet. [leans against the wall, still holding her stuff] So what's bugging you? You've barely talked to anyone.Blossom: [draws her knees against her chest, tilting her head to the side] Nothing's bugging me. I'm... just tired. That's all.Marina: [smirks] Then you'd better turn around now 'cause by that definition you've been 'tired' this whole journey. I used to lead armies, I know better than that.Blossom: ... Hmph. [looks at her feet, focusing on them] It's not anythin' you guys can help with, so... just nevermind it. I'll be fine after a full night's sleep.Marina: [shuffles around, withdrawing a sock, and throws it at her] Try me.Blossom: Nyeh! [fumbles the sock and catches it, balling it up before throwing it back]Blossom: Okay, fine. Try telling me you've had marriage issues before, for a start.Marina: [snort] Marraige? What are you, sixteen?Blossom: EIGHTEEN, thank you. [picks up her boot and aims]Marina: [snickers] Eighteen, then. Let me guess, with your mercenary position and his...whatever he does, you never see him.Blossom: ...No, he's a tactician, actually. And I took a job at the cafe so I could stay in Eyris more often.Marina: [nods] I see. You still never see him, do you?Blossom: ...No. I don't.Marina: I understand that. I have the same problem with my father.Blossom: It's not that he works too much, either. It's... I don't know what to do anymore.Marina: Indecision's one of the fastest ways to end up on the blade of someone's lance. Why did you come along here, then?Blossom: Because he left to go traveling again almost two weeks ago, still isn't back, and... I couldn't stand to think of not helping someone reclaim what little family they have.Marina: I see. As I was just telling Roy, family means a lot to me and if I were in her position I'd appreciate any aid possible. It's just, I'm not the only one concerned that your mind isn't where it needs to be, you know?Blossom: O-Oh... I've been worrying the others... [pulls her legs against her chest and watches Piers, expression guarded] I'm sorry.Marina: [laughs] Don't be sorry. Fix it. All those guys out there like you. We'd hate to see you wind up dead because you were worrying about your hubby.Blossom: It's not like I can exactly do anything, though...Marina: I guess you've got a point there. We're all here for you, though, so remember that. Now... [gestures to the clothes in her arms] You don't mind if I get ready for bed here, do you?Blossom: Yeah... thanks. Really. [smiles, then pauses] O-Oh! No, I don't--I don't mind! I-I'll... um... d-do I need to leave, or...Marina: I'm dressed underneath, but I just need to drop these dirty clothes and find something a little more comfortable for bed. Up to you, really.Blossom: Oh. I-If that's the case, it's fine.Marina: Okay then. [moves over to her pile of stuff in the corner, drops what she's holding, and starts rummaging through it] So what's his name?Blossom: Aidan. Aidan Cheverell.Marina: No way! I had a brother named Aidan.Blossom: I don't think he has an older brother, though.Marina: I doubt your guy's from Magvel, either.Blossom: We're both from Elibe. His parents are still back there.Marina: [chuckles while picking out a shirt] Well, isn't that sweet.Blossom: What?Marina: Hm? Just the fact that you both came from the same place. Seems to be a rare factor in this world...Blossom: Oh. We kind of met there, actually, so... it makes sense.Marina: Uh huh. Can't say I've got any significant others, so...it's a moot issue for me.Blossom: Mm-hmm...Blossom: It's a little surprising, actually. I mean, you're pretty good-looking and you seem to be really nice, so... I don't know, I guess. But I meant what I said.Blossom: ...Yeah.Marina: [snickers] Well, it's a little more complicated than that, Blossom.Blossom: I know THAT, I just... mmph. Nevermind.Marina: [turns toward Blossom, still holding an unflattering white nightshirt in one hand, and drops the gruff tone] No, I mean, it's a little more complicated that that.Blossom: But if you-- ...Blossom: When did you get breasts like that.Marina: [snickers] About eight years ago?Blossom: NO, I mean... you're a BOY. Aren't you? Or... no, you're not, but... I'm confused.Blossom: Why are you pretending to be a man?Marina: [slides into the shirt to cover herself] Personal reasons. Nothing sexual, promise. It's just easier for me right now.Blossom: A...All right.Blossom: ...At least you've got an actual chest to wrap. All I'd have to do is put on shorts and change my voice and no one would know the difference.Marina: Oh, come on. You've known I was a woman for twenty seconds and you're already comparing my breasts to yours. Breasts don't make a woman, girl.Blossom: You're talking to the one with a smaller chest than a twelve-year-old boy. =.=Marina: [wanders over and sits beside Blossom] Hey, what matters is [prods her chest] inside of here. Got it?Blossom: [squeaks and looks down, nodding once] Y-Yeah.Marina: Good. Now, I am going to go over to that corner of the room and sleep, and in the morning you will be in a better mood and I will be a guy again. Work for you?Blossom: Uh-huh.Marina: [head-ruffle] Good night, Blossom.Blossom: [smiles] 'Night, uh... Piers can't actually be your name, can it.Marina: Marina. Yeah, yeah, Piers, Marina, ha ha funny.Blossom: What? ... ...Oh.Marina: Yeah. Good night, then.
