Recently, I got tickets to visit Japan in early February (YES!). The only problem is, I have no idea where to visit. Does anyone have any suggestions? One things for sure though, I have to visit the snow monkeys in Nagano! ^^

For some suggestions please see my thread "Congratulations! You win a trip to Japan below"
Definitely go see stuff surrounding what you are into, but also take into consideration temples and restaurants - anything that is truly Japanese. Go see a remote town, check out the city, see what the people are doing. If something looks cool, go check it out.
What are some things you are into? I could give you better suggestions if I knew. xD

If your in the direction you should check out the go shiki (or shiku) numa 'the 5 colours lake' that looks pretty damn awesome. Though your japanese will need to be better than the average tourist

I'd personally like to see some of the forests and Mount Fuji, but that's just me. I aim to become a park ranger, so it's only natural I'd want to see Japan's wild side. I'd also like to see some of Japans castles, temples, and shrines, as my interest in Japan is mostly history and mythology.

Tokyo is good, but very crowded. Osaka, is beautiful, but is getting crowded from tourists. And Kyoto, is nice too, but there are many other islands, and places to go, so if you can, travel to as many cities as possible. ^~^
