Herd Formation:

> 1 male alpha
> 1 female alpha

> 1 male beta
> 1 female beta

> Members (male and female)

> Herd leaders MUST BE ALPHA-QUALIFIED! They do not have to be mates, and can be family, but both must be alphas.

> Betas MUST BE ADULTS. They do not have to be mates and can be family.

The pros of having a herd:

> Alpha-qualified horses automatically have an increased chance of having more foals.
--If there is one elder in a pair, then they will increase the chances of having three foals (60%--40/60).
--If both mates are an elder, then they have the chance of having three to four foals (30% for four foals--70/30). They can still earn an extra foal by completing an RP with the same requirements as above.

> If the alphas of the herd are not going to be breeding, they can "grant" their breeding stats to a different couple within the herd. This must be verified on a breeding form.

> If you recruit enough people for a herd, I will buy you your own subforum in the guild so that you can have a place to hold meetings, have RPs, put profiles, etc.

> If the herd has a certain symbol, or mark, then a joining horse can get that mark in spirit paint, without RP They must sign up in the spirit paint sign-ups as normal, but will provide a link showing that they are a member of the herd.

> If you can get a colorist to sponsor your herd, you can have special breedings and customs. Such as, reduced price on customs purchased by people who are members of that herd. However, a herd can only be sponsored once in three months, meaning that it is a very special occasion. And, if more than one herd asks for sponsorship, a winner must be rolled to keep things fair.

To create your herd:

Make sure you have an alpha male OR an alpha female. You do not have to have both to create a herd, however, once a horse joins a herd, they can not back out. This goes for any member of the herd.
You must recruit three other members before you can create your herd, giving you a total of four horses or more. When you have recruited these members, have the herd leader send a form to the mule requesting a herd formation. A staff member will create your herd forum. The first post will simply state your herd's name, and have the joined mustangs in it. When you recruit new members of your herd, you must send them in a PM to the mule so that a staff member can add them to the first post.

Form for herd formation:

* You need a male or female alpha for certain, but you do not need a beta. However, you need four horses in total to start a herd.
* Send to the mule when complete.
