(cont. This part takes place on valentine's)
"Welcome!"
It was just another day at the boutique for me. I was pretty happy hanging out around here.
"It's not enough..." Ian said. "Not that many customers today. They're all over at Agatha's, from what I hear."
"Ian, no need to get down. People just don't wanna shop today." I said.
Ian sighed. "Still, it's not enough.." He took off his hat and sighed again. "Rinko, why don't you take today off? Maybe you have a date or something."
The cup I was holding fell to the floor. "A DATE? Me..? Oh, Ian, you are joking. Last time I had a date was when I was in fifth grade, and we broke up before we even began dating!" I said. "I'm not that popular."
I was a social outcast, a misfit. I knew that, but I couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for Ian. He was such a nice guy. I took out the valentine's card I had planned to give Liam today before he rejected me and looked at it. It was a good thing I didn't write in it yet.
"Ian, do you have a pen?"
"Yeah.. Here." He gave me the pen I asked for. I smiled and took the pen, walking over to the window and writing in it.
You're a bit shy and I know it.
We're the same, you and I.
Maybe we can meet under the stars at eleven tonight.
I hope to see you then.
From,
Your secret admirer
I smiled and closed the card.
"I found this at the window. Maybe someone left it there." I slipped the card over to Ian. "It's probably for you." I was still smiling. I was happy.
I couldn't wait for tonight to come.
