Aww...that's how I feel about FF9. But...umm...I have to ask myself... Do I remember what the Triple Triad was even? xd I'm assuming it has to do with the card game though. I never could get that Laguna card...
And, I adore Angelo, she's so adorable. X3

For the guys I'd have to say either Zell or Irvine. Females...hmmm...Quistis. Fujin and Raijin were amusing little goonies.

Quistis always struck me as a creepy character. She clearly feels entitled to Squall's affection, but he barely notices her, so she uses her position of authority to drag him off alone and try to make him appreciate her. If she had been more vindictive and less interested in his well being, it could've become bad for him very quickly after Rinoa entered the picture.
She's so cynical, and even her body language in her intro FMV shows that she feels entirely more mature than and superior to Squall, in spite of her affection for him. Throw in the whip she uses as a weapon and her personality is really uncomfortable to me, haha.
I don't like Rinoa, either, but at least she's sincere. (I think? Now I want to replay it.)

Replay it and give us your thoughts on it Waltz. My copy of it busted years ago so I am unable to.
I wanted badly to like Rinoa but she never could top Aerith in my mind ^^;; Selphie was amusing though.

Man, you're the third person I know whose copy of VIII went out on them. I guess the discs were just crappily made or something.
Yeah, I wanted to like her, too. Aerith and Yuna are two characters I adore, but Rinoa is a lot less strong-willed and more... precious, I guess? She's a damsel in distress character to me-- needs to be rescued. Which doesn't make her a bad character, just not the kind of character I admire.
From the dialogue I do remember right now, she was usually angry at Squall for things he did or said to other people, rather than her own feelings of entitlement to his affection. So that's one up on Quistis at any rate.
I love Selphie purely because she reminds me of a friend I've known since elementary school.
