Chikeri bounded playfully through the trees as she neared the heart of the Demyxan forest. Her multi-colored pelt stood out against the browns and greens of her surroundings. It was supposed to be the longest day of the year and Chikeri couldn't contain her excitement. She loved the solstices because they meant large gatherings and the switch between the earth's time of conciousness and it's time of sleep. In previous years others had gathered in the clearing at the heart of the forest to celebrate but Chikeri hadn't encountered any of her kind despite her determination to search every square inch of the forest if she needed to.

"Where is everybody?" she wondered aloud.

Was this the place? It seemed so desolent and quiet. She hadn't seen anyone since she entered the forest, and quite frankly, Satsuma was a little worried. Her ears flicked as she gracefully scaled a tree, sitting on one of the overhanging branches, perched with her tail loosely hanging down; a blur of orange and white in a dense green forest. She stuck out like a sore thumb.
Nervously glancing around, she looked for any source, any sign that someone had been there before her. As shy as she was, Satsuma was a little anxious to talk or at least meet somebody. The wind ruffled her thick orange pelt.
She heard a loud crashing noise, causing her to tense and grip the branch. Fearfully casting a downward glance, she saw a rather peciular colored Komali bound about. She blinked, another person? It was about time. Still...
Deciding to play safe, she followed by stealthly leaping after, agile as she went from branch to branch.

"E-Excuse me?" she called after, voice hardly audiable. She didn't quite know how else to approach the situation.

Chikeri had the oddest sensation, like she was being watched, course through her body but she shook it off. That was impossible, there was no one here, obviously, or she would have seen them already. At least, that's what she thought until she heard branches creaking and leaves rustling above her.

Stopping she looked around and spied the orange and white shape leaping nimbly through the canopy. That's when the other spoke. Ah, a female, ok then, that was a start. Chikeri looked up, narrowing her eyes and squinting trying to make out the features of her follower. "Hello there." she called up to the other dreamer.

Satsuma blinked down at the other, perched on the branch with her paws tightly gripped around the tree's rough branch. Her green eyes sparkled in the dimmed sunlight. She listened to the greeting from the other female.
Swiftly, she made her way gracefully down the tree as to get a better look at this other komali. Her white paws led her forward, tail gliding across the forest floor.

"H-Hello." she replied, tail swishing side to side. She looked over the komali; her pelt was such a unique blend of colors. She hadn't seen anything like it.

"My name's Sa-Satsuma..." She murmured quietly. She was quite shy, and as such found it quite awkward around the other dreamer. Still, she was a bit lonesome as of the late, and getting to know others wouldn't be so bad; would it? She gave a small friendly smile to the other,

"What's yours...?"

Chikeri watched as the orange and white dreamer made her way down to the forest floor and she smiled brightly at her, inviting her to come closer. When the other spoke Chikeri realized that she was nervous, probably not used to be around other dreamers, and she swished her tail calmly behind her as if trying to rid the other of her shyness. "Satsuma? That's such a pretty name! I'm Chikeri." she replied.

The young komali tilted her head to the side, curious about why the other dreamer was out here so far away from everything. "Are you looking for the solstice gathering too?" she finally decided to ask rather than just coming up with a million reasons why the other female would be out here on her own.

Satsuma felt her nervousness calm slightly, her tail, having ceased it's fluid motion and switching to a jittery twitch, now returned to its previous grace.

"Chikeri is a very pretty name too...! Very unique." She added. Unique name for unique dreamer. The next question caught her a tad off gaurd, perhaps,

"Well... Kind of." She said, looking up at the high tree canopy, "I met someone not to long ago who mentioned it, and well, I thought I ought to check it out... You're the first I've seen though." She said, letting her gaze wander back down until she was staring at Chikeri again,

"I was actually getting a little worried that the fellow had lied, but I suppose he didn't... I just wonder where everyone else is..." She mused aloud.

Chikeri blushed slightly at Satsuma's words. "Thank you." she replied, unsure of what else to say. She wasn't very good at taking compliments. As Satsuma explained what she was doing Chikeri nodded and gazed off into the distance thoughtfully.

"I think it's a little early yet, I'm usually one of the first dreamers to arrive but I set out last night so that puts me ahead of schedule." she smiled brightly "But you can come with me if you'd like? I'd enjoy the company."

Satsuma tilted her head slightly to one side,

"T-That would be great! I wouldn't mind at all..." she said, green eyes brightening,

"I didn't know I would be so early... This is the first time I've ever gone to attend one..." she admitted, slightly smiling,

"What're they like? Are they big?" she asked, voice slightly childish. She disliked crowds; they scared her a little and made her feel more isloated, but she'd have to overcome that sooner or later.

Chikeri's eyes brightened when her invitation was accepted and she smiled reassuringly "They do get pretty large, and rather loud, but everyone that gathers is very nice and welcoming. I've never been to a solstice gathering where any fights broke out. We are all of like minds, those of us that gather so we have no reason to quarrel."

The multi-colored dreamer flicked her tail, beckoning the other to follow her as she set off again towards the gathering area. If they got there early enough they would be able to get a good spot for the storytelling.
