Appearance Description
Reina is very fair skinned with light hair and opalescent eyes, unusual traits of a shinobi who hails from the Village Hidden in the Sands. She tends to select clothing for their looks rather than their functionality, thus stands out more when with her peers. She wears a short white kimono with only on sleeve and trimmed in red and laced with red hibiscu flowers. Over that she wears a black obi tied in a butterfly bow, laced with red thread, and a pair of red leg warmers over her steel-plated geta. Her fingerless gloves are black in color and constructed of a lightning retardant material to protect her hands when she wields her weapon. She almost always wears a red ribbon in her hair.
Personality
Almost irritatingly optimistic, with a firey temper and a very gung-ho attitude. She tries to be a leader despite her tendency towards bad decisions, and flirts with anyone and everyone who she comes into contact with. She thinks she is stealthy, but its almost always fairly easy to see through her lies. She is, oftentimes, all talk and no action; one could go as far as to say that she is cowardly.
History
Her childhood was that of the most typical Suna child, learning to acclimate to the less than favorable desert temperatures and dreaming of the day she would be admitted to the academy. She was an energetic academy student who enjoyed nothing more than to get to know her fellow shinobi as she learned the basics of Capoeira, an art of hand to hand combat she learned from her mother. It was around this time that her mother also informed her that she, at one time, had a twin sister who had died so young that she was never even given a name, and the girl came to appreciate life for what it was.
As she grew, Reina, despite her obvious desire to better herself as a Suna kunoichi, she is contemptibly foolish and abhors getting herself involved in needless conflicts. She finds it increasingly difficult to adhere to the orders given to her by her superiors if she fails to see the reasoning behind it, especially when it may lead to the destruction of an individual to whom she harbors no ill will; she is foolishly naive when it comes to the happenings of the world around her. Her personal pacifistic beliefs are in direct contrast to the teachings of a Sunagakure shiobi who typically believe that the accomplishment of mission predominates the lives of the ninja trying to accomplish it.
Upon graduating from the academy as a Genin, she took it upon herself to perfect her lightning-based jutsu, and constructed her back-mounted kite in the image of her pet raven to provide herself with a weapon and a reliable means for transportation. Using her predominant chakra element, Lightning Release, she has completely destroyed her kite on several occasions and is almost constantly repairing the damage done to it caused by the pulse of lightning sent ripping through its core each time she uses it to magnify the power of her attacks.
Quoth the Raven has been her companion for as long as she can humanly remember, serving her as both a companion and a weapon in her times of need. Only recently, upon being put into her first three-man cell, has she learned of the values of friendship between herself and other human beings. Akoko and Samamoto have become precious to her, her family and her friends, and she will fight for them to the best of her ability no matter how bleak the situation.

- Her main weapon is a large decorative kite in the shape of a large black bird, typically worn upon her back; it is mounted upon a central pole made of lightning conductive metal and is rigged with multiple springs and hinges allowing it to be folded and rendering the 'wings' very mobile. When mounted on her back in the open position, it can be used to glide long distances, and it can be ridden when accompanied by strong gusts of air, much like a surfboard. It is connected to her, at the wrist. Has a blade hidden in the 'beak' which can be launched with the pull of a trigger, or be used as a guan dao as a last resort weapon if the wings are shed.
- A black raven that is almost constantly at her side. While typically useless, he can come in handy in the rarest of situations with his abilities to kick up powerful hurricane force winds. He is about 27 inches in length, from tip of beak to tail, and is fascinated by shiny objects. He seems almost humanly intelligent.
