Oh hon I totally feel for you. I am currently doing two separate battles with the Blizzard bastards.

Something weird is going on to be honest with you. This AND what they're doing with us. I have gotten emails in the past that when you click respond the email is what you said above. So it may in fact be real. I dunno like I said....something is weird.

The first problem I have is my husbands account was hacked and illegal activity was detected and they froze it. So he petitioned and got it reinstated, then had to wait for a month for them to get his items back to him (fully epic 80 prot pally) and then right before they finally conceded they cancelled his account entirely for no reason whatsoever. Blizzard hates us all. They wish nothing but ill will on us, I swear. They STILL 4 months later have not fixed anything...so to you I say...good luck. The best thing you can do is call them and tell them you will KEEP calling or not hang up until they answer your questions or keep asking for people higher up until they get tired of you and give you what you want. I was about to make a thread here myself about my other issue and see what people suggested.

if you really believe this then you clearly didn't read even gaia's most basic rules that apply for all account using games or websites. NEVER give out you info. they don't need a password to get into your account. this is very clearly fake.

Well I agree with that but something is still off, and way to be jerkish btw >_> I just think it could have been said nicer, eat a cookie or something before you respond to things like this, sheesh. Anyway, Blizz is screwing everyone this past month. Definitely don't respond to it and if you can log on just fine then who cares right? But if your account is frozen still call them and raise hell...in fact join the raising hell at Blizz club! We have T-shirts!

To prove account ownership, they would most likely ask for a faxed or scanned ID. When an account is stolen, they require a fax or scanned governmental issued ID. It would make no sense for the real blizzard to ask those questions. If they were investigating you for buying or selling accounts, any and all that information could be supplied from the seller to the buyer. Defeats the whole purpose of asking the questions to being with. xp

I could be wrong though, but I still find that email shady at best.

edit: On another note, it says the investigation would be dropped if that information is provided. Blizzard does not drop investigations, they state they complete their investigation instead.

i don't i would do it just to be safe and if you don't get an e-mail or something with it in a short amount of time I would change the pass or something to prevent a hacker from ruining your world.

Changing the pass would be useless if he actually sent that info. The secret question and the wow cd-key can auto reset it on their website, and you cant change the CD key nor the secret questions.

so he has 50-50 chance of being screwed on this one. i would (knowing that) see if i could get some proof that they are blizzard employees

Othgan may sound like a jerk but he is 100% right, Blizzard NEVER asks for passwords. They even have it on the loading screen. The whole thing just breathes scam to me, but depending on your age you might want to keep an eye on other things. If you used time cards to pay for your account you should be fine but if you or a parents used PayPal or credits cards keep an eye on statements, they have all that info now.

@Mephisto I'm sorry that Blizz has shafted you and your husband multiple times not to be rude but if the service is so crummy why keep playing?
