I became a member just shortly over a year ago, but it took me several years to even want to convert. I had a testimony of the truth and divinity of the Book of Mormon since I was a sophomore in high school. I grew up in a family that absolutely against the church and I had been presented nothing but anti-LDS literature.
Before I ever read the book or even broken the binding on a copy, I had three dreams about the book of mormon, in one dream I was standing in front of a crowd of people with two LDS missionaries behind me proclaiming the book to be true and that it was the word of God. The other two dreams were very similar to this one. I tried to ignore the dreams, brush them off as a coincidence, but they just wouldn't leave. So I requested a copy of the Book from a few friends of mine. I read it all the way through, prayed, read it again, prayed again, and found that it really was true and the word of God.
I kept that testimony all through high school, but it took me a few years longer to accept Joseph Smith as a prophet of God. My husband and I got into so many debates about the subject of the Church, Doctrine and Covenants, and Joseph. We debated to the point where I was neither for nor against the Church. I talked with the missionaries, talked with other members of the Church, and I even met with the Bishop of a ward. I was challenged to pray about Joseph Smith and the Church. So I did. I promised Heavenly Father that I would listen to what He had to say, even if I didn't like it or didn't agree with it.
In December of last year, my husband and I were over at a friends house, eating dinner, the missionaries were over as well. We got on the subject of my beliefs and what my stance on the Church was. One of the missionaries looked at me and said that it sounded like I already had a testimony of the Church, I just hadn't accepted it yet. At that very same moment, I felt the Holy Ghost come upon me, and I heard a voice in my head, calling me by name, it said that I already knew that the Church was true, and that I didn't need to ask any more. My husband received a similar revelation from the Holy Ghost at the same time also.
Three people, one of them being myself, knew I had a testimony of the Church. I bore my testimony of the Church to my husband on the way home that evening. I told him that I knew the Church was true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I was baptized within a few weeks after that night. And I've been a member ever since.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So there is my conversion story, the short, brief, watered down version of it. There is too much to type if I gave the full one.

Wow, that's a cool story! I wish my story was that interesting, but alas, my story is nothing special.
