http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/opinion/10/19/cross.words.charlotte/index.htmlthe way this makes it seem is that jr. will be done racing soon unless he can get his game face back on. i honestly think it is part drivers fault too, he seems to just be blaming the crew chief for him doing badly.. Eury jr. used to be really good up to 2004 and lance mcgrew isnt the best. jr makes enough in merchandise to pay a crew chief in full and then some. they need to get one of the good ones and be like okay we'll give you 500k/yr. It's estimated knaus makes between 550k and 600k/yr. thats crazy but he is the best in the garage.

I 'm sure one of the requirements for that position is not having your head cut off, so it looks like Rick will need to keep looking. All Dale needs is a few good races. That'll build his confidence up and it wont matter who his crew chief is. If he can get rid of his bad luck, he will have it made...
He also needs a few good races so that he isnt as depressed as he is now.

He also needs a few good races so that he isnt as depressed as he is now. jrs not depressed. fact is hes just overrated. nothing compares. he has no talant. ooooh hes good at daytona and talladega (and richmond) wow but, anyone can be good at those places. in the last 4 years compare his #'s with kyle. 3years with the cot and jrs done cant drive the beast. kyle is the first cot winner. and granted. last year. jr was 2nd in points made the chase (due to winners taking him down) finnish outside the top 10. kyle finnished 10th made it to the waldorf astoria. don't think i dont know stuff. when i type very little. jr has championship equipment and still can't drive. look jj-jeff-mark-tony-ryan with hindrick power all made the chase. and jr can't? whats up with that? 5 out of 6 hindrick power made the chase and been stout. and jr is the only one who dont do well. its not the car its the driver.!!!! Check!

Yeah. non taken. granted the last few weeks hes been up there. but, the last 20 laps hes chokin. a string of bad luck i guess. but,.... still when theres 5 teams in the top 10 hes in the 40's. and when his team got a 48 chassie it blewd up on him. runing 22nd. ill keep watching.

Jr lost his confidence. That's the main part of it. Anyone who watched the 2004 season would agree that he was probably the best overall driver that season. He just had bad luck in the chase along with questionable penalty calls.
