I love the new Lincoln MKS EcoBoost, but I can't afford it. I wanted a certified pre-owned Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, but the banks won't give me a loan until I pay Jennifer off. It all may have been a blessing in disguise, because Buick is going to be getting the Opel Insignia as their new "Regal!" I liked this car since I first saw pictures of it, but never gave it real consideration because I figured we'd never get it here in the USA.

I like how it has a little bit of the Passat CC roofline, and I see a touch of Mazda organic-y styling in the rear. The front has a generic understated European look to it. The side profile is the exterior view I like the most with the hockey stick character line, and the fact that it isn't as blunt nosed as a lot of cars have to be with the new bullshit pedestrian safety ordinances. I'm in love with the interior styling; it's what I like best about the car.

Of course, I like the performance version better... but I doubt they'll bring it over as a Buick. sad

The only other car in contention is the newer look Ford Fusion Sport AWD. I like how that car looks a lot too, and it can talk to me!

Hmm..

That's not bad looking at all.

Black paint, black rims.. Might looks downright sinister.

Beautiful car, especially the last two pics, but I'm sure that was the concept version. Any idea on how much its going for?

Here's a little more information on the Opel Insignia/Buick Regal. Hopefully in they change the wheels because those look horrible.

And why is my comment on the top of the thread? confused

Well it looks like there is going to be a performance version Buick Regal after all.

The big difference relative to the OPC is replacement of that car's 2.8-liter turbocharged 321-horsepower, 321-pound-foot V-6 with a higher-output version of the 2.0-liter turbo that's expected to produce at least 255 horses and 295 pound-feet. That abundant force is routed through a six-speed manual to a Haldex all-wheel-drive system that includes an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential. Why ditch the six? According to Craig Bierley, product marketing director for Buick, that engine would likely incur a gas-guzzler penalty, and in any case, the design brief was to build a car that could accelerate to 60 mph in the fives, and the 2.0T was easily able to accomplish that while achieving considerably better fuel economy than the V-6.

very nice.

I fyou want my advice, dont get it. get the Vuaxhall Insignia VXR because it is THE sport Insignia. Unlike the OPC or whatever they call it because all of the GM's International car makers make it. Holden Make the Engine, Vuaxhall make the body, Opel do the suspension and Saab just look at it and think! this car costs about $40,000 and if you take the limiter off, it dose 170mph!!!

Yes but doesn't that car not go around corners?
Is it FWD or RWD?
To be honest I think getting a FWD car with more than 180 horses at the front is a waste of time and money. FWD is great for economy. But where's the economy when you're putting out 250-300 horses at the wheels?
If you're looking at the kind of power go for AWD or RWD methinks.

The performance version is AWD, while the basic one is FWD I believe.

Buick would never, ever, ever have an American variant of the Insignia VXR. Too bad.
