Rain drizzled down from a scattered smattering of clouds. The droplets of water didn't so much as smack against the sea below but splashed against it then. They did much the same as they fell upon the hooded water resistant coat of Daniel Baxter, Captain and sole crew member of the yacht the Jazzy tune.

Rich brown eyes flicked down to assess his watch again, in another few minutes, the second group of workshop attendees were supposed to assemble here at the harbour so he could ferry them to Benjamin's island. Here being the city of Nassau, capital of the Bahamas and located on New Providence Island. The city was Daniel's home and had been for many years now. He made a decent living ferrying out supplies and mail to people like his friend Benjamin who owned private islands in the general area. He didn't normally carry guests aboard the Jazzy tune, but for such an old friend he was making an exception, Daniel only hoped he wasn't going to regret it.

While the weather wasn't perfect it was just a typical morning drizzle a sort of tropical sunshower. By the time he got everyone on board, answered questions and actually left the harbour Daniel was positive the skies would be clear and the sun would be out in full drying everything off.

Jerry looked almost under dressed as he arrived wearing his usual suit and a scarf around his neck. However, he at least held a large colorful umbrella, which he had opted to bring out today instead of his real raincoat. That was packed up in case a hurricane or something showed up while they were at the workshop.

He inclined his head lightly to Daniel as he reached him, his face pleasant and calm. There was no one he felt he needed to hide from here - he was on his own time and this was something he considered fun so Jeremiah felt no reason to conceal what he was feeling.

"Hey there." he greeted the captain.

Alice glared tiredly up at the gray clouds filling the sky. It wasn't raining too heavily, but she hadn't thought to bring a jacket with a hood or an umbrella. Unfortunately, she never thought to check the forecast for the destination of her trip. She regretted that now as the rain pelleted down on her uncovered head, matting her hair to her scalp. She shook her head, but it did little to help. Instead, the action threw her bangs into her eyes. Sighing, she wiped the hair out of her face with her hands before continuing to the yacht.

She thought she had packed a lot of belongings to take with her. But somehow, Alice had managed to cram everything into a medium sized suitcase and a laptop travel case. She always liked to take as few bags with her as possible.

Spotting the yacht up ahead, she smiled in relief. Alice saw the men standing out in front of the yacht and hoped that she wasn't the last of the passengers to arrive. She dreaded the idea of everyone sitting there, waiting and watching, for her to finally arrive. She cringed mentally at that thought.

Alice finally reached the yacht and nodded to the captain. "Some weather we're having," she said awkwardly, shifting the weight of her laptop travel case on her shoulder. She couldn't wait to get on the yacht and set her things down and just relax for the duration of the ride.

Jerry glanced over at the newly arrived woman, smiling and nodding. "Yes, though it's not as bad as it could be. Do you need a hand?" he inquired, holding his umbrella out lightly so he could cover her head as well.

"Oh thanks," Alice said, happily stepping under the protective canopy of the umbrella. "I'll agree to that. I wasn't expecting the rain." She blushed, embarrassed about her lack of foresight. She should have prepared for any situation that might occur on her trip.

Jackie was smiling brightly, and humming quietly to herself as she strolled down the damp path to the boat ahead. She had actually brought a raincoat, but it was stuffed inside a bag, and anyways, she rather enjoyed the rain. So, soaked as she was, she was still in an exceptional mood.

Finally arriving, she looked around, carefully taking in everything. She wasn't entirely sure whether or not she was the last one to arrive, as she had little idea how many were coming. Jackie never really read directions thouroughly enough, so, it might have said somewhere, but she wouldn't know. She shrugged it off though, because she didn't really see the problem with being a little late. They'd all get there eventually.

"Hello everyone," she said, grinning broadly, unable to bottle up her good mood even a bit.

Gloria had checked and double checked everything before she had left home and then had triple checked everything as she'd left her local accomodations. Of course she was prepared for the rain with a purse sized pop out umbrella. Her white hair was wrapped up on top of her head and pinned underneath a wide brim straw hat. Despite the rain, she wore large BluBlocker glasses over her own spectacles. She was prepared! It was just in her nature. Nearing the boat she noticed a small group had gathered.

"Oh my!" Gloria worried that she was the last one to arrive and she hurried as briskly as her short legs would carry her towards the boat.

"So sorry I am late! Am I late?" The elderly woman breathed slightly heavy as he reached the boat side clutching the largest purse she owned and struggling to keep her umbrella up while still pulling her rolling suitcase.

Jerry blinked and waved at the others. "I don't think you're that late. We've all arrived within a few minutes of each other. If you're late than we are too." he assured Gloria, reaching out the hand not holding his umbrella to carefully put a hand on her shoulder in case she needed support. It had nothing to do with her being elderly or female, just out of breath and looking a little in need of a hand for a sec.

"You okay?"

"No one is late and don't run, the dock is slick and I don't want any of you fall into the water." It was actually more dangerous to fall in here than it was out in the open ocean. Never mind that Daniel hadn't even got life vests on them yet. As it was he'd just been nodding and smiling at each arrival as they'd joined the group. They were certainly different from the last set with several of them being quite a bit older.

" If I can get everyone's name please we can start boarding and get under way." There were four of them and he was slated for four passengers but he still had to ask for the names and besides it made it easier if he started putting names to faces now.

Alice watched as the others arrived. She had thought that the group attending the workshop would be much larger, but she was glad to see it was a fairly small group. She would handle a small group much better than a larger one.

Her attention was called back to the captain of the yacht when he asked for there names. "Alice Lewis," she responded promptly, smiling at him. She hoped the boarding would move along swiftly so they could get out of the rain.

Gloria smiled as she caught her breath and thankfully squeezed the arm of the man who offered the slightest help.

"I'm fine. thank you, young man." Her round cheeks were only the slightest bit flushed when she smiled at him thankfully.

Gloria rested her suitcase upright and tried to get a good look at everyone, all much younger than her (what she expected), while she straightened out her things. By the time she was ready to give her name her bags were straight and she looked less like she was going to lose everything to the ocean depths.

"I'm Gloria McDonald. Nice to meet all of you!" Now that she was here with the other participants, she was practically vibrating with excitement. This was definitely the most exciting thing to happen to her in a very long time.

He nodded lightly to Gloria and removed his hand from her shoulder, moving it to adjust the suitcase and knapsack by his feet*. "No problem, Ma'am."

The middle aged man smiled pleasantly. "I'm Jeremiah Ericson, though just Jerry for short." he told Daniel with a warm and friendly tone. It was rather drizzly but still nice enough out for the most part.

"I feel outnumbered." He joked lightly, smiling at the other three workshop goers. It was okay though, Jerry didn't really have a problem with being the only guy out of this bunch. Women were just as nice to talk about writing with as men, and just as talented and intelligent, if not moreso.

(* - Deeg wasn't sure whether or not luggage was separately put on the boat or not so I didn't mention it previously. Just pretend it was there the whole time -makes shushing sound-)

"Jacqueline Berret," the girl stated, pointing, rather unnecessarily, to herself, "but you can call me Jackie." She smiled in what she hoped was a friendly way, and readjusted the strap of the duffel bag on her shoulder. She had brought only two bags; a rather large duffel bag, and a smaller messenger bag.

"It's fantastic to meet you guys," Jackie continued brightly, while attempting to wring out her pony-tail, which was dripping cold water down her back.

The dark haired Captain nodded as he mentally checked each name off, alright that was everyone and they were all ready to get moving. Most likely so they could get out of the rain, even if it was minimal.

"Ok then, everyone this" he motioned toward the yacht beside him " Is the jazzy tune, I'm her captain Daniel Baxter and we're going to board you all now. Be careful stepping off the dock," The dark skinned man paused a moment to show the best way to move off the slick wooden platform and get up onto the yacht. "Make sure your luggage is handed up and on before you are and then once you've boarded grab one of the life jackets in the green box. " Daniel once again had more life jackets on board than they'd need but he'd also once again been unsure of what the writers would look like and what sizes to have ready so he'd just brought the general assortment from his first trip.

Done speaking the man moved so that he could help whoever followed him first get their stuff on board.

Alice listened as everyone introduced themselves. She made sure to match each name with the face of the speaker so she would remember who was who. Unlike her siblings, Alice had never been that much of a social butterfly. Her fellow classmates would find it annoying when she couldn't remember their names. Another reason that she was thankful for the small workshop group. She would be able to handle remembering the three other people. "It's very nice to meet you all," she said, grinning happily at her fellow work shop goers.

Taught never to dawdle, Alice stepped forward and presented her bags to Daniel. Once her bags were out of her hands, she climbed aboard the yacht. She located the green box that Daniel had mentioned and searched it for a life jacket in her size to wear.
