I don't know HOW it took me this long to realize, but I finally figured out I've been wrong. D:
Ever since last week I was under the strange impression that "Changing Channels" was this week - and not that I had evidence, I was one of the many people who pointed at the screen and went "TRICKSTER EPISODE" when it showed the crazy tv show previews.
I would say "Don't get me started on my creepy crush on the trickster." But I'm started and if you don't wanna be a part of this madness, RUN. SAVE YOURSELF. Because I'd be his minion if he were taking applications. *apologizes profusely to Misha and the other minions* But it's true. Don't judge me. D: We're all a little strange somehow.
The sad thing is, now I'm a little disappointed and this weeks episode feels overshadowed in my mind by that. xD I think I'll be sitting there going, "Woo. Bobby's legs. Dean's Brad Pitt in that movie I never wanted to see. Yaaaay." because I'll be sadly waiting for the episode I thought I'd be watching then. xD
I wouldn't do that if I'd REALIZED. Which is entirely my fault. There WAS a preview, guys. It told me.
But when I heard about the trickster ACTUALLY coming back, my brain erased facts. razz
First, since I just had it on to ease out of my disappointment, I was watching Tall Tales (which is definitely one of the best monster of the week eps, imo xD, just because Sam and Dean bickering, and that totally gay Sam that Dean apparently sees is marvelous. XD).
When I first saw that episode, I can tell you I had this reaction: GUH, LOOK AT THE CUTE JANITOR.
What? Bitches, the man bounced and whistled out the building. I totally liked the janitor the whole time - and then more when they were like "Omfg, he's a TRICKSTER." And I was like "GUH, HE'S LOKI. <3 WIN."
So. You know. Best moment of season two for me. razz No. Best moment was when he DIDN'T DIE and was like "LOL, Sam and his stabbing. Silly." Why was that the best for me? Because he was COMING BACK, I COULD SENSE IT.
(And no, I don't mean best moment over all razz Just. Best monster moment. xD Shuddap.)
ANYWAY.
I realized today I've been calling him Loki and apparently other people don't. >.> Which makes sense. Because they don't call him that in the show. XD "The Trickster" has so many syllables, guys. razz
But yeeeees, there are so many other names for trickster Gods. Hermes, that random African one (yes, I was on SuperWiki, stfu). But I will tell you why I chose to NAME the unnamed character xD and why I picked that particular name. razz (and no, it's not because it's supposed to the best known. xD)
1) Goddamnit, he comes back and then doesn't die AGAIN. He deserves a ******** name. xD
2) I have the weirdest obsession with Norse Myth, and since he is clearly most like Loki (read about Hermes, sooooo unfitting), and I happen to be madly in love with all Norse stories, I decided that since he NEEDED A NAME, that was clearly what he'd be called.
Also, I don't buy this multiple trickster bullshit. (Yes, I'm fully prepared to be embarassed and eat my words if they randomly throw in new trickster gods in that episode - because "BUT IS IT THAT TRICKSTER?" in the synopsis is making me uncomfortable, like some other one is behind it. xD Or they're just retarded and think that it's a good question to ask, when we've only known one. razz )
POINT BEING. Look at the show and his powers there - and then look at old Loki legends (whatever the ******** his name is in whatever myth you're reading). He's WAAAY too powerful and uniquely mischievous for there to NEED to be more than one.
More than one is like OVERKILL.
And I know it's suggested a few times that there might be - but I figure it could be the misconception due to there being so much lore about it. It could all just be one thing, you know? xD
I dunno. It's like the Grim Reaper thing. Which always bugged me. They have the reapers that actually run around reaping as a fulltime job, and then they have the creepy old pagan one that one time - and it made me wonder what the ******** he did when he wasn't being controlled to reap. xD
When Sam grabbed him in Mystery Spot (yes, I watched that recently too. D: No judging meeee.) he was like "BAH, I KILLED ONE OF YOU BEFORE" And this guy was like "Lol, no you didn't, I'm the same one."
All I could think was "There should only...be one. o.O"
I would imagine that there was one and just different variations of him in different cultures. He can clearly, even IN the show, be anywhere, do anything, and escape death quite easily. There only needs to be one. D:
I mean, the one in Supernatural is clearly not straight out of Norse Myth (which is why I say I call him Loki because he's like him and I like Norse Myth razz That is all. I'm sure he's nameless because he is THE trickster, and the random names cultures have given him are wrong and silly). Because if the one in Supernatural were the Norse God, then Dean would be totally out of the "First Seal" business.
Because Loki totally breaks that "first seal" (metaphor, that's so not what it's called in his story, guys). Which is a hilarious story, and I could tell you many ridiculously interesting tales about him, but we're not talking about him. xD I was fangirling the one on the show.
MY POINT IS. I call him Loki because that's my favorite name for him, and I think there is only one. There's no need for two. razz If he's as powerful as they've clearly made him, he really can just cause mayhem wherever and whenever he wants. Two would just be...well, they'd probably ruin the world, okay. razz
And I love this one in particular because he randomly <3's Sammy.
Like. He's not a badguy. I mean, people die, but you know what I mean. razz And he never tries to really kill them.
He actually confused me in Mystery Spot. He was so set on actually teaching Sam a lesson...that was valid and even valuable. xD Wtf was my question. Why the hell did he care.
I figure Sam's just that darn cute.
I mean, he did get his way with the trickster by making big sad puppy eyes. "Pwease bring Dean back."
"You're missing the lesson here. D:"
*sad eyes*
"...Fine. >.< Goddamn."
^ Really. Obviously Sam has won over Loki's heart. razz
Anyway. I love him and I'm excited and I wanted to ramble. I like their take on it - and I'm pretty sure their intent is that there is only one trickster god. Which I hope is true, because guuuh, overkill, fo reaaal.
But yeah. I really just wanted a good random fangirl rant. And to explain my naming him. xD
I'm also fighting back to tell you all about Loki. xD This is not the time or place and no cares, I'm sure. Otherwise I would. razz *wiggles in joy*
I should probably go back to watching the episode. I paused for a snack and then got sidetracked here. xD
This thread is clearly open to anyone who might wanna talk about the trickster. ;P

Just to clarify: I'm away it's pretty clear there should be more than one out there in the world. XD Cause the way Bobby talks about "them" like he's dealt with it and killed it before - and they know the weird "way" to kill it.
But I say: still stupid.
And two: It could just all be one trickster and no one's managed killing it.
This particular one I've so nicely dubbed Loki razz evades death pretty well. xD I mean, they're clearly shapeshifters and everything else.
Still overkill if there are more. I like to imagine there's one.
>.> And I personally like the one in Supernatural. I vote he be the God Of Chaos in the real world. *takes him home in her pocket*
Edit: And I have to say that now that I finally finished watching it razz He kind of implies that there's a chance there's only him.
WHATEVER. I'M SORRY. XD I know I'm weird. razz And I'm fangirling and spazzing over such an insignificant part of the show. xD It might have to do with my Norse obsession and my unusual, slightly weird thing for that character as well as his face. razz

You're so obsessed, it's adorable heart
xD Anyway. Yes. I agree that it would be overkill if there were more than one trickster. Or. More than one Loki xD He's so powerful all by himself. The world would be a psychotic mess of chaos if there were a bunch of them running around, wouldn't it? Srsly.
And haha Mystery Spot <3 I luff that ep. Drives me nuts though xD Poor Sammy <3 The whole Loki-Sam dialogue part *pouty face* so sad and adorable. [/fangirling]
