Farrah stretched as the sun warmed the fur on her stomach, purring quietly. She was resting by the watering hole, one of her brothers keeping an eye on her from a distance, and just grateful for the quiet. The den of Vizier-Emir Faiz was becoming rather cramped, what with the sudden birth of her Mama Mzu's cubs. She was happy for her father's beybanu; Mzuka had made great strides in becoming less hostile towards her Mama Liua and her siblings, she was happy Mzu could be a mother to her own cubs as well as Tuliua's. It seemed as if she'd only just began to sprout like a weed when the cubs were born, though, and now everything seemed so cramped and busy.

It was a rare sight, Farrah truly enjoying the day. Her days were usually spent thinking about something or other, be it her future or her present, or the fate of her brothers: It was fast approaching, the time her two precious brothers would have to leave the pride. Briefly, concern drifted across her face, and her eyes darkened as she thought of Ilyas leaving. She didn't know if she liked that idea, but it was a necessary part of every young Pesar's life.

That didn't mean she had to like it. Huffing quietly, she rolled onto her stomach and stared at the water, her eyes narrowing at the reflection it showed her. She was getting older, and soon she'd have to leave the cramped safety of her family den and join a Pad her father chose for her. That, too, was a troublesome thought. Would he choose the right Pad for her? And, more importantly, if he didn't... What would become of her? She certainly couldn't deny her father's wishes.

A brief flash of anger flared in her eyes, and she tore her gaze away from the water, looking around. There was her brother, chasing a bug, but no one else seemed to be around. How odd; what with the sudden abundance of cubs, she'd thought finding peace in the pride's lands would be difficult.

Hmmm...

Harb yawned lazily as he flicked his ears, tail swinging over his back to shoo any pesky flies away. Yawning again he rolled over to bare his pale belly to the sun with a content rumble. It was rare for the young male to have the chance to just lay in the sun, undisturbed by either his sisters or a vision. Luckily for him Zar was with their father, Afsar was being tended by their mother and little Neha was napping in the sun not far away, yes for a change everything was good with his little family.

Opening his eyes to slits, he spied a beautiful young female not far away. Blinking again he rolled back on to his stomach cocking his head as he studied her. He had seen a male about that looked like her…likely her brother. Well it never hurt to be polite. Getting to his feet, Harb shook the dirt from his sandy gold coat before calling out , “ Afternoon! I don’t believe I have seen you around. I am Harb.”

Farrah's attention was torn away from her brother when she heard a male calling out to her. She jerked, briefly startled, and looked towards the voice, blinking her light golden eyes at him. "Hello, Pesar Harb." She greeted formally, bowing her head a little and smiling at him. "I am Farrah." She rose off of her place and shook herself, shaking the dust out of her coat as she rose.

"I don't believe we've met, either." She added with a small polite smile, eying the male. She was certain she'd have seen him beforehand if he was her age, but he didn't seem it; perhaps this was one of the many cubs the pride had been blessed with over the past weeks. Her smile widened at the idea of a cub to play with that wasn't her own siblings, gender aside. She glanced towards her brother to be sure he wasn't ditching her to chase after something. She didn't want to be grounded again for being out without an escort, after all.

"It is a beautiful day, isn't it?" She asked idly, glancing back at Harb.

Harb's smile was tight but friendly as he approached the strange girl, " Greetings Banu Farrah. Then again as many cubs there seem to be around, it is not really that odd that we have not met yet." It was true with the large families, it was easy to miss someone if they didn't call much attention to themselves.

When she asked about the day, he gave a dry chuckle, " Nice enough I suppose. It seems like a good day to just lay out in the sun." Most would say nap, but when he slept he saw bad things and so sleeping was not his favorite past time.

She nodded, grinning a little. "I know. It's nice, though. Never a lack of siblings to play with." She laughed a little. She was excited for having so many siblings, it spoke well of her father and it meant never being bored, but it meant peace was hard to come by. She rarely had time to think as of late. She turned her attention from her siblings to the Pesar before her, nodding in agreement at his comment on the weather.

"I'd nap, but..." Farrah found much better ways to relax than napping. Napping always felt like some sort of punishment, like being sent to bed early. She smiled a little at him. "It's never quiet enough in my den." That was a more polite thing to say than what she really felt of naps. For all she knew the young Pesar enjoyed naps quite a lot, and she didn't want to offend him by not being a nap-y lion herself. "Besides, if I was napping, I wouldn't have met you today!" She grinned

Harb gave a soft chuckle at her saucy quip, " I am not much of a napper myself. But it is nice, when you can find a quiet moment in which to rest your eyes and simply soak up the sun's warmth, before going back to the frantic pace of life." Visions aside, the few times his sisters had caught him napping, they had pounced the poor boy scaring him witless.

Farrah nodded her agreement, grinning a little. "That's if I can find quiet." She snorted a little. Her siblings often made that difficult to find in the den, and the last time she'd fallen asleep outside... Well. She had spent three days in the den for missing curfew. She'd really prefer not to repeat that little adventure, thank you. "My brothers like to make that difficult." At least, Ilyas. In all fairness, she certainly liked to pounce her brother back, so it wasn't all that one-sided.

"Agreed," he laughed smiling at the pretty young banu. After the rude way his sisters always treated him, it was refreshing to have civility and a certain amount of respect from a female. Not that he though he was better than her, oh never that! Yet it was easier to give curtesy and respect when it was given in turn. "I think that is just siblings in general Banu Farrah."

Farrah laughed a little, nodding in agreement. "Probably. I've got them to spare, you'd think I'd be an expert on Siblings and their Crazy Ways." She said with a snicker. She loved her family and how big and loud it was, even if it was a pushy sort of family. Between her Mamas, they kept things from getting too disastrous. With a curious eartwitch, she looked back at Harb. "I don't think I've met your sisters, though." She wouldn't have, given her penchance for staying well within the area of the den if she needed to. Though she was a curious little cub, Farrah was also a bit of a coward. She didn't like roaming around without Ilyas or Zeki to watch her. "What're they like?" She asked after a second, curiously.

Harb took a second to gather his thoughts least he simply blurt out what he really thought about them sometimes. "Weeeellll...Afsar is a bit of a snob at times. She thinks she knows everything. Neha'dema is quiet and rather silly, she never seems to talk above a whisper." His emerald eyes clouded with pain for a moment before he cleared his throat. " Then there is Zarha. She is brash and loud, she never minds what father says and just does whatever she wants. I worry for her the most..."

Farrah watched Harb gather his thoughts, smiling a little. She wondered if he was doing what she thought he was; avoiding saying what he really thought in favor of painting them in a decent light. She'd have done the same for her family, no doubt about it. There was an image to uphold with the family of a Vizier, one she would hold for the rest of her days. Her ears flattened against her head as he spoke of Zarha, frowning a little. She nodded after a minute. "They sound...exciting, to be around." She said after a minute. "I'm sure Zarha will grow out of it. My Mama'd say it was a phase, or something." She smiled at him. They were the lionesses in the pride that lashed out at the males, she wasn't naive enough to pretend there wasn't, and though she doubted Zarha would go so far as to be too troublesome, it was a possibility... She was glad to know she would never be that bad. She prided herself on her behavior, if nothing else.

"We fought not long ago, " His ears laid back as he looked at his feet. " I was trying to protect her, but she says I am smothering her and now she runs away from me when she sees me." Ever since his visions of Zar's abusive future, Harb was frantic to protect his beloved sister...who now avoided the little male like the plauge.

She flinched, and sighed a little, watching him. "It's a brother's duty to defend his sister, but... if she is as bad as you claim, perhaps she does see it as smothering." She certainly didn't mind her brother's company. It was nice to have them near, in case of a tragedy. But she was trying to see things from the point of view of one drastically different from herself. "You should give her space, if only for a little while. I'm sure she'll come to see you are only trying to do what's best for her." Farrah smiled brightly at Harb, trying to comfort the poor cub.

He gave her a faint smile, " You really think so Banu Farrah? Would you feel the same towards your brothers?"

She smiled, nodding. "I do." She said in response to his first question. "Though, I understand why my brothers are so close. Our father loves us all, and having one of my brothers around is a way to give him peace of mind in his absence." If she could have taken Faiz's job to make his life easier, god help her, the cub would. She was utterly Daddy's Little Cub. "Things'll change when you both get bigger. I know it." She grinned a little.

He chuckled at her softly, " I am sure you will be a wonderful banu and make some Pad very very happy. I just hope I can figure out how to be a good pad some day." It was a question that plauged him often. What it meant to be a good pad.

She blinked at the question, and smiled slowly. "I think, if you worry over your banu like you do your sisters, you'll do just fine." She promised, getting up and shaking her coat out. "I think I should go home, now." She said finally, sighing a little. "My Mamas'll probably be wondering where I am. Last time I stayed out too late, I got grounded." Not. A pleasant time for Farrah.

He winced in sympathy getting to his feet aswell, " I should head back too. It was a pleasure to meet you Banu Farrah. Hopefully I can come visit again soon!" He bowed his head to her respectfully before turning to head back towards the den he called home.
