[LOG] Jackal Sisters [Bura x Anansi]

[Chobi_Chocobo]

1/3:
Anansi crawled out of the den, bowing her head down low and curling her back as greeting to the new sun.

"Bura!" she called, turning back to gaze into the den. "Bura~ Are you getting up, lazy head?"

She sniffed, then glanced out over the plains. Nothing.

"Bura!"

Chobi:
Bura had spent the night else where. Unlike her sister, she spent it alone else where. She had agreed to something she wasn't really all to keen about. A pack.

Now she was headed back to her den only to be greeted by her sisters cries.

"Anansi..." She muttered, still half asleep.

1/3:
At the sound of her sister's voice she turned, ears straight up and forward. She knew her sister wasn't happy with how she'd been spending many of her nights lately but she saw it as a nessesity. If they were both to survive in this world they needed a pack. In her eyes the easiest way to start a pack was to start a family. That's how it had been done by the leader of her former pack and that's how she'd do it now.

"Bura!" she bounded through the grass, ready to greet her beloved sister.

Chobi:
Bura stiffened as her sister barrelled on over toward her. The jackal rose a curious brow at her sister. She seemed in high spirits this morning.

"Anansi.." She said dryly taking a few steps back so that her sister would not run int to her.

1/3:She slowed as she approached the other jackal, nuzzing her affectionatly the moment they met. Bura was grumpy. That was to be expected though, she'd been a little distant since this whole thing had started.

She was doing this for Bura more then anything though. Her desire to be with Bura verged on desperation. They'd lost so much. She would have done anything to keep them together.

"Sister," she rolled on her side, licking at Bura affectionatly. "I'm sorry, next time I'll find somewhere else to sleep. I worried for you all night."

Chobi:
The female let her sister lick at her with affection but the frown did not turn upside down. It stayed firmly planted on her maw as she let her sister lick at her.

"There is nothing to be sorry for," She mumbled. "Lets just go find something to eat.."

1/3: She didn't let that get her down. Even if Bura never thanked her she'd be happy simply knowing that the other jackal had an easy life. For that... well.

She got up, following behind her older sister submissivly. "Maybe we could hunt a small rabbit today?"

Chobi:
Rabbits, Bura felt her spirits fall some. She was starting to see her sisters point even though she wouldn't admit it. Rabbits were a good catch but they were tiring after a while.

"Alright," She mumbled still waking up some. "Lets go get some rabbit then shall we?"

1/3:
"Unless we can scavange something larger," she said, voice hopeful. "Maybe a zebra. It's been ages since we've tasted zebra."

Anansi had spent a while trying to convince her sister through reason. As it turned out, the only thing that could convince was day to day life as it slowly wore at her spirit.

Chobi:
The jackal mirrored her sisters hopefulness with a smile. It would be nice, one in a million, but would be nice. The two had done it before.

"Yeah, lets get us some zebra," She laughed. It really was highly unlikely but a nice goal none the less.

1/3:
Anansi grinned. Oh goodie! A zebra, even scavanged, was one of her favorite meals.

"Have you seen any herds lately?" that was the only catch. If there were no herds then there would be no zebra, fresh or otherwise.

Of course, if they were short on zebra rabbits were a fairly reliable alternative.


Chobi:
The jackal hung her head low, "No herd of zebra." She mumbled. Crap, you needed zebra to eat a zebra. There hadn't been many herds wandering these parts as of late. Rabbits seemed to be pretty common though.

"I suppose rabbit meat is just as good as any other," She tried to cheer her sister up. Before she could try some more , a lone weeldebeast calf ran across their path. Spooked. Bura ran on after it with out thinking.

1/3 says (3:11 PM):
Anansi hesitated a moment, glancing back the way the small wildebeast had come, afraid that she'd see an angry mother or a hungry lion bearing down upon them. Seeing the coast was clear she grinned and dashed off after her sister. Please, she begged to no one in particular, Please don't make my hesitation cost us this meal...


Chobi says (3:16 PM):
The female kept her pace not sparing a glance back at her sister. She just kept running her eye on the prize. If they could get this meal.. if only they could get this meal.

The weeldebeast made an unexpected sharp turn and caused Bura to loose her footing and face dive into the dirt.

"s**t..."

1/3 says (3:25 PM):
Anansi shot past her sister, not sparing a moment of pitty. If she was hurt then they'd have all the time in the world to lick her wounds... later. Now the only important thing was catching that wildebeast. Licking wounds on a full stomach was far better, after all, then licking wounds on an empty one.

Just so long as she could catch up. The harder she ran the further away the baby seemed to get.

Chobi says (3:27 PM):
Bura started back after her sister, half way limping, as she went. They needed that god send of food. They needed it so bad.

Not minding the pain in her paw, Bura kicked up and ran as fast as was possible. The pain stung her every time she took a paw step, but she was gaining.. They needed this.

1/3 says (3:34 PM):
When she noticed her sister was back on her feet, but limping, she took a deep breath and dug her heals into the ground in one last ditch attempt to catch up. A little faster, a little longer, they needed this break worse then she could describe.

With this last push she found herself nipping at the heals of their prey. So close. They were so close!

Chobi says (3:38 PM):
Bura felt her body starting to give. From under eating and the strain on her paw she colapsed.

The black widow was out of the game and panting. Even still she cried after her sister, "GET HIM!"

1/3 says (3:50 PM):
Hearing her sister shouting from behind her she reached that inch further forward and sunk her teeth into the soft tendons of her young prey. She had to slow after that, but their meal was slowing too, already limping from it's deep wound.

After a moment to catch her breath she charged forward again, and again, and soon she was able to get close enough to bite at it's throat. Even a small
wildebeast was large and dificult for a lone jackal to take down. But she was desperate.

Chobi says (3:54 PM):
Bura, watching her sister, found the strength to get up and charge. Her limp and damage was evident but the jackal managed.

Her teeth ripped into the babies flesh. They needed this.

The baby fell over on to its side and withered in pain.

"we.. We... did it..." Bura fell on to her side too but from her tiredness, "Guard the kill while I nap...."

1/3 says (3:55 PM):
"Eat first," her sister urged. There was no telling what would come along while she napped.
