Private RP between Francis (Graficcha) & Uzi and her posse (ladyumbra)Location: Eli and Uzi's territory Time: Early evening Weather: Warm autumn sunset whisking over the lands A serendipituous meeting -WHY are there so many people invading my turf lately?!- that started as a confrontation, dissolved into calm interaction. A lost creature calling himself Francis has found his way through the open space blindly, only to run into our favourite frisky huntress. Fascinated by her nature, Fran decided to try and learn more of her. Maybe by observing her, he may find out what his own nature is? It confuses him that she trusts 'humans', and he claims to be cautious of them because they supposedly have 'made his life a lie'. What he means by that exactly remains to be determined. While wary of him at first, Uzi seems to have taken a tentative interest in him, regardless of his strange antics. There seems to be more to him than one glance can tell.
So far it has been revealed that Fran, while biologically eyeless, can 'see' by sensing electromagnetic fields, that all living things produce naturally. His hearing's no more developed than a human's though, if not worse. He is not an essentic, that much any actual essentic can tell, but is he human, then?

So there they were, out in the dark environment Fran experienced as such. He felt it was beginning to darken, the sun losing its intensity slowly. For a while their conversation had fallen into an open-ended silence now.
Eventually Fran let out a slow, heartfelt sigh. So, when exactly did you get me to talk about my not-liking-people? I was sort of trying to forget all about that you know... and I'm still hungry. No matter, you seem to know very well what life is all about, in your way. For your situation. Maybe I want to be like that, too.
For lack of anything on his hands and feeling oddly nervous, the hybrid reached out again, and pulling a rather sad expression -easily readable even with the obvious lack of eyes-, he took a light hold of Uzi's tail again. The claws on his other hand he clamped together, as he usually did when he wanted to avoid hurting anyone.
"I don't even know where I am..."

" On the edges of Vargash" Uzi replied calmly golden eyes watching the sinking sun turn to the sky intro a myriad of intense colours. Colours she herself could mimic if only she could figure out how to do it on command. Not that it mattered if she did now, her companion probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyways, the alter doubted his version of vision noticed colour change.
Uzi flicked the tip of her captured tail but made no move to release it. Affection, touch, comfort, these were things the essentic was still learning, still experimenting with. Uzi they were trial and error a mixture of good experiences and confusion. She had been uncomfortable with Zia's grab but not this one. Strange for zia was another essentic and Fran was not. Then again Fran was also what seemed to a lost searcher trying to solidify his place and Zia seemed utterly at home in farstep. The magic one.. he had no place either, perhaps she was more kindred spirits with those who were untethered than others.
"You are in human territory but safe." The only humans nearby were Eli and his family and they were all good people. Uzi trusted all of them to varying degrees. " Kell may slobber on you though." Unlike the irritating magic one Uzi did not trust Fran alone in the wastelands, for all eh had survived this long and could hold his own with her he was too naive to the world as far as she was concerned. At least temporarily she would have to take him home.

"I have heard of Vargash... many of the... people came from there." He didn't feel like calling them researchers or caretakers, let alone think of them as family anymore. They'd told him about how a city worked, basic knowledge, but he'd learned more by listening in on their conversations with each other. He wondered if they thought he couldn't hear them, only because his ears were disfunctional, too. They should know the device they'd made for him would allow him to catch their words, though.
So, near Vargash. What to make of that... Oh, she's saying more, let's pay attention.
".... who is Kell?" A... 'friend' of hers? A slobbering friend? Was he like her? Or was he a human friend, too? So many questions at once, he hoped she'd answer quickly. His grip on her tail intensified slightly, but he wasn't going to hurt her like that.

"Kell is Eli's dog, he's a coonhound, he slobbers but it means he likes you" there was genuine fondness in the alter's voice there. She might have originally been at odd with the dog but time and certain experiences had changed her mind about him. She still wouldn't classify dogs as mans best friend overall but Eli's certainly and Kell was special to her as well.

"A coon-hound?" A racoon? A dog? "..... a canine?" Little guess. "Ah, like that. Friend to all humans, man's best friend. Woman's best friend, too?" he asked her, getting rather confused over the issue suddenly. These concepts he knew of, but it'd never been a real part of his world like this before.
"Does he get spit all over you, too?" Does he like you? Why was he even asking this? There really was something about her that made him want to listen, learn, never let go of that tail, lest he lost himself again in this vast nothing.
He even tried not to get distracted by the uncomfortable noises his stomach was beginning to make. The little pout he made was enough to tell it wasn't very pleasant a feeling though.

" He's not my best friend but he has drooled on me," Uzi admitted. " we hunt together, with Eli or just the two of us". They shared a secret as well the only two who had seen what had happened on that dark night not so long ago. There was respect between her and Kell now and Uzi intended to make sure Fran new that. Kell was not just one of the dogs that were bred on the Galvao grounds but a special one.
The alter's ears perked then swiveled in the blind male's direction at the noise his stomach was making. Ahh yes hungry wanderer. Uzi had been hungry on occasion herself but never suffered pangs of it, she was both a capable hunter and well provided for by Eli.
" I will teach you to hunt for yourself later, you can't stalk anything that condition." Despite her feelings after her accidental killing uzi was unable to stay away from hunting for long, it was her purpose and it called to her too strongly. She was warier now and there was guilt when she was alone and thought about it hard enough. Still she had returned to her old ways and would teach her new companion them as well.
"You'll meet Eli now and he'll feed us." Uzi would teach the other self sufficiency in the morning. For now full stomachs would help them both feel better.

Ah yes, your hunting partner. While that made sense to him, Fran still had no clue how one would go about 'hunting together'. He's always been fed premade meals, which half of the time consisted of ingredients so garbled together there was no telling what was even in it. It was almost a miracle he could tell the difference between the taste of apples and peaches really.
So! Hunting. That's where the food used to come from, he knew that, and it was also the source of other materials. Straight from the storybooks his 'nannies' had read him, how romantic. Uzi would... really teach him that? She really seemed to believe he was capable of it, or she wouldn't be offering, no, deciding that. How right she was, though. No matter if he had the potential for hunting, right now he really didn't feel up to it.
All in all, he had to admit he was relieved to hear her say she would help him out, in a way that wouldn't involve doing something he'd never done before, yet something still bothered him, one could tell. That Eli-person... A human, eh. Not half convinced he'd be able to trust this man, even if Uzi claimed he was all legit, he eventually nodded though.
"Alright. I will... follow you..." His tail swished anxiously, and he finally let Uzi's extra appendage go.

The moment Fran released her tail Uzi began to move, long quick strides filled with confidence carried her towards the farmhouse. this was her territory and she was safe here, she also felt form in her convictions of bringing this lost waif home. He was salvageable in her mind, he could be taught to take care of himself and then where he chose to go and what he chose to do would be up to him. The other clawed being was not tethered to anything anymore.
The scent of Kell reached Uzi's nose just before her keen eyes picked up the outline of his fast approaching figure. "Be still" she warned her companion.
Kell issued a loud bay at the unfamiliar scent he'd picked up. He loped along the ground as fast as his paws would carry him intending to check it out but not attack without command.

Keeping her radiant electric shadow right before him, Francis padded after her, with careful steps. It could be quite annoying to have no idea what was strewn over the ground, even if he caught a faint hint here and there whenever the terrain was covered in hesitantly flowering herbs and mosses. He wasn't really thinking about anything else, somehow feeling his mind turn into one big sigh once again. Maybe this time things would work out somewhat alright? Sometimes he wondered what he'd gotten himself into, really, but just as he thought it might've been a bad idea to break with the place that had nurtured him, that stab of white-hot rage made sure to remove it at the roots again.
As he got reeled in by memories and worries yet again, Fran completely failed to notice the hound approaching. Uzi's sudden warning did make him halt and look up from his musings though.
It took all but a split second for him to find out what she was alerting him about, and react to it by jolting a step back and crouching low, the long claws on his right hand extended defensively. Why was it coming at him so fast, what was it doing? ARGH WAT Baring his sharp teeth slightly, tail stretched out behind him rigidly, he had to resist the urge to duck or curl up at that incoming storm of deceptively violent-looking canine. He'd never actually encountered one before, all he knew is that right now, he was pretty damn scared. Trying to at least keep track of Kell, he uttered soft whimpery noises, forcing himself to keep his 'eyes' open. The markings in his cheeks were flickering from their darker shade to skintone nigh imperceptibly.

Uzi reached out and rapped Fran on the head with her knuckles "Hush." Making noises would only agitate Kell more " Just let him sniff you he's not going to bite." The old hound was too well trained for that and Uzi was fast enough to prevent an attack even if Kell made one. However the dog would be justified if Fran tried to make himself look like a threat.
Kell stopped just a few feet away from Uzi and the stranger, the hunting dog glaring dangerously and moving into a couch. He couldn't very well tree the intruder but he'd be right there watching every move he made. his lips were pulled back and the dog was showing his teeth as he growled low. Still kell waited for some sort of signal.
Uzi kept one eye on the dog and one on frowned. Hold you ground, she thought to both of them, but don't attack. I'll let you know when it's over. It was an inpromptu test of trust but one Uzi figured she might as well use to her advantage. The huntress herself lazyily using her tail to brush dust off the bones on her one leg. As long as she remained calm everything was fine.

Francis nearly had a complete freakout at the sudden knocking, but stood fast, trembling like a leaf in anticipation. He's just. have to. Trust her with this. Rationally he knew the creature had no reason to hurt him, he really had to remind himself of that, but still, but still.
So damn scared shitless.
Ever crouching lower, like some odd kind of raptor going into defensive, letting his arms hang slack but ready to whip up to counterattack, Fran waited. Breathing deeply, in shudders, trying to hold his nerves in check. Kell was way too close for comfort now, he could smell him already.
Don't move, let him do as dogs do. No, don't let your tail twitch now, who knows what he might make of that; Don't. Move.... HOW could Uzi be so calm? Well, she was Kell's friend, his hunting-partner... It wasn't all that strange for them to get along. No, he'd have to prove himself here now. I'm only standing here, I'm with her, I'm no danger, don't, please don't attack me? May I be here?

Kell inched closer his growl fading slowly then disappearing all together at a slight twitch from Uzi's hand. it was a subtle signal but the dog now knew the being beside her was not a prisoner, not prey and not to be attacked. Still the orange and black furred dog moved forward continuing to sniff the stranger, unable to recognize it's scent in any way. The droopy ears dog's tail wagged slowly and it was clear he no longer meant any harm.
Uzi's own tail now swayed behind her and the alter grinned. "Everything will be fine if you listen to me." It was hypocritical perhaps to ask the other to trust her when she was so distant her. Still she did not ask for blind faith but proved her worthiness.

... there we go.
With Kell's obvious signals of settling down, Fran slowly lost his tension as well. While he was still feeling rather shaky after that unexpectedly intense confrontation, that about-to-crack nervosity wore off rather quickly. As Kell began wagging his tail, the hybrid slowly straightened up again, clicking his claws back together.
He turned his head to Uzi, looking still a little out of it, but he nodded quietly. "I'll listen to you...." You haven't betrayed me yet, your advice was definitely worth taking into consideration. I'm glad I did as you said.
"That was... hah." A slightly deranged-sounding giggle, the nerves haven't worn off entirely yet. Fran wrapped his arms around his skinny torso, trying to stop himself from shivering quite that much. "I suppose this is what adrenalin does... He... would've killed me if he had to, right?" he pondered aloud, making it sound much more hilarious than he felt it was.

Uzi snapped her fingers signaling for Kell to move to her other side and farther away from Fran. " He would only have killed you if ordered to, the most you would have gotten from your own actions was a bad bite" she informed him before stepping forward again. "It's over, think about food again" she advised him " Dwelling is bad." in her experience it brought nothing but stress. Still the alter gave a soft purr like rumble as if to sooth the male. She wouldn't coddle him but she didn't want him traumatized either and he seemed far more shaken than she had intended or expected. Uzi was beginning to wonder how much of fran's fight was bluff as he seemed to deflate rather easily.
