Tailsin had been worrying about her daughter, in fact when did she not worry about her children? All were adults now, all so wonderful but yet Chepi hadn't been winding Nita up nearly as often as she use to and for some reason it worried Tailsin. She should be over joyed, she knew that but... it just wasn't like Chepi.
In fact, Chepi seemed to have been doing a lot of growing up, she was a beautiful girl but yet she seemed to be loosing her immaturity, she even got on with her pridal jobs. How odd and strange that it could be the case that her Chepi was actually starting to grow up. One day she would find a mate and have cubs... no not yet though. Tailsin was to young to become a grandparent!
"Are you going to lay there all day?" Doea, a bird who was always to be found near Tailsin chirped at her.
"Quite possibly Doea, it is a beautiful day to sunbathe!" She chuckled and laid her head back down on the ground. The bird seemed unimpressed and started pecking the ground for whatever lay underneath.
Chepi was in love, oh she was and it felt great! Her stalker loved her and she loved her stalker. Oh life was, it was truely amazing. Yet she had been putting off introducing him to her parents and so they were yet to live together but she had enough. She wanted him and so today she would have him.
"Arun you there?" She called out looking around hoping that the gorgeous body of the male she adored would appear. She was going to take him to see her mother and then he could join the clan and they would be blessed and married and live happily ever after playing tricks on Nita. Then they would have cubs who would be the best tricksters the world had ever seen!
She had been dreaming a lot about a lot recently. Oh how she adored Arun and she couldn't wait to introduce him to Nita, oh she knew how Nita would hate the fact that Chepi had someone else to help wind her up. Oh life would be good.
"Stalker where are you? You aren't much of a stalker if you aren't stalking me!" She teased knowing that Arun had to be around here somewhere!

Arun was excited. And not just a little excited. No, this was butterflies-fluttering-in-your-stomach-enough-to-lift-you-off-the-ground excited. Chepi loved him. Not in the way that someone loves a sibling or someone loves a pet, but how someone loves a mate. Chepi might be his mate!
The striped lion stalked forward slowly, making sure to move on the pads of his feet, careful not to upset a single stone as he crept forward towards the lioness. It was hard not to come the second the brown lioness called him, but he had to wait! He wanted to surprise her.
Crouching down, he wiggled his butt in the air, tail swishing in excitement before he lunged, tackling his soon-to-be-mate to the ground, wrapping his paws around her and rolling a little in the dust, grinning like a little cub, extremely proud of himself.
"I'm here~"

Chepi was surprised when she got knocked on the ground but it didn't take long for her to be laughing.
"Oh you silly thing!" She chuckled and nuzzled against him.
"You shouldn't keep me waiting like that, mother is sun bathing not far from here and erm.. I thought I would surprise her!" She smiled widely and then started to wriggle free from his grip even though she would much rather stay that close to him forever and not move. They did however have to go visit her mother and get him with her, their own den... their own life. Oh today was going to be good.
"Just think tonight I will spend it next to you..." Oh it was a happy thought! "And tomorrow we can introduce you to Nita. I am sure she will just LOVE to meet you!" She chuckled knowing that her sister would be far from impressed.
"Come on, sooner we meet mother sooner we can find our own den!" Oh this was exciting. It was the most most exciting thing ever. "Come oooooon!" She urged him on, her mother wasn't far away and she wanted Arun all to herself.

Arun laughed along with her, feeling the butterflies start a flurry in his chest again. Mkodi, he loved it when she laughed. And when she smiled. And when she scolded him teasingly, but didn't actually mean it. Grinning broadly, he nuzzled her back, rolling off his back when she climbs back up, pushing himself to his feet and shaking the dust off his fur. Oh, yeah, that probably wasn't a good idea when he was about to meet her parents.
"I'm sorry, I wanted to bring you something special," He replied sheepishly, padding back behind the bush where he had left the little flower, picking it up in his mouth and bringing it back to her, setting it down on the ground in front of her. "I know I'm not very good at... knowing stuff about the pride... but I thought maybe you could keep it in your pouch... if, you know, it wasn't totally blasphemous."
He gave her a huge grin when she mentioned their den, leaning forward to nuzzle her affectionately. "Alright, I'm coming!" he laughed, padding after her, praying to all the gods he could think of that her mother would like him.

Chepi was speechless when he showed her the flower. He got her a flower?
"OH thats just so cute..." She smiled at him and put the flower in the pouch. She smiled at him and then turned, Right time to find mother.
"This way!" She smiled at him. He had got her a flower, he had actually brought her a flower! Oh how sweet! She had the best stalker in the world, the best ever!
"Mother? Mother? I have something to show you.." She called out as they neared where she knew her mother was. In fact she could even see Doea on the ground and it was the bird that turned first. Oh she can't stand that bird!
"Follow me!" She whispered back at Arun, a huge smile still planted on her face.
Tailsin looked up at the sound of someone calling her, slightly confused. She recognized her daughters voice, of course she would! She looked at Doea and then back toward where her daughter was emerging and was that someone with her?
She sat up and Doea flew up and perched on her shoulder.
"Chepi, who is this?"

Arun's grin broadened when she smiled at him, a little relieved that his modest gift was not completely frowned upon. Even after living in the Ela pride for this time, he still didn't understand the customs very well, and messed up quite often, although he tried his best to be at least fairly well behaved. With his personality though, it made things difficult at times, and with Chepi, the whole pride was in danger of their pranks!
Following close behind her, the striped lion peered curiously out from behind his new mate-to-be, spying the other lioness sunbathing not too far away. The colors of her fur reminded him distinctly of Chepi, the exception being the tuft of yellow on her tail. Even so, the resemblance was uncanny; there was no doubt that this was her mother. Beside her, a primarily white and black bird hopped up to the lioness' shoulder, Arun's intrigue piqued -- he had heard about Chepi's sister's bunny, but he hadn't been aware that her mother had a bird. He would have to try to stay away from bird-catching for a while -- hopefully he hadn't already tried to catch this one!
Clearing his throat a little sheepishly, Arun bowed his head deeply to the lioness, swallowing his nervousness.
"Arun, at your service, ma'am," he replied, grinning a little, "I've come to steal your daughter's heart. With your permission, of course."
He had almost slipped up and told her he was her daughter's stalker! That could have been bad.

Tailsin looked to Arun as he spoke and nodded her greeting. Well well... so this is what her daughter had been getting up to. She looked at Doea on her shoulder who promptly fluffed up proclaiming innocence about knowing anything about it and it made Tailsin chuckle. Nothing was said between them but they had been friends for long enough to relay messages through looks.
"So this is why you have been running off. It seems I must give you my blessing if only it will keep Chepi in our clan for a while longer. I take it she has told you of her role? Or at least the role she should be stepping in to soon?" Tailsin had to make sure that Arun would support her daughter but mostly the clan. Chepi was to run the clan and she would need someone sturdy to be beside her.
"Though if you can honestly put up with my Chepi I suppose I must applaud you, not many can." She smiled at her daughter as she spoke and wondered what Adi would think of the matter. She would have to speak to him later and see what he thought. Chepi, getting married. That was unexpected.
Chepi looked like a small cub being able to do the thing that she loved with the look on her face. She was a picture, her eyes seemed to sparkle with excitement. She knew her mother would approve though she wasn't too keen on the parental speech she was giving Arun.
"Mother do we have to go in to all this..." She knew it wouldn't stop her mother but she had to make some sort of protest. She then lent against Arun as her mother continued and then laughed at the end. It was true, Chepi had a way of putting off males and females though she did seem to generally get on with the females in the pride much better then the males. Maybe Arun could talk to the males for her? He could share in her clan duties, he would be her mate!
Tonight.
Tonight they would be together, as she knew her mothers blessing meant her fathers. After all Chepi got her stubborn ways from her and so she knew her mother would get her father to bless them to. She would have Arun to herself, in her clan. Oh it would be amazing!

Arun looked a little sheepish when Tailsin mentioned that Chepi have been sneaking off, knowing that it had been his fault. As much as he loved the fact that this beautiful lioness wanted to spend as much time with him as she did (and oh how he loved it -- had he already had nothing, he would have sacrificed everything for her) he hated that she might be getting in trouble because of him. He didn't mind getting in trouble, but getting his beloved Chepi in trouble was a different story.
"I would never steal your daughter from you, Ma'am," He replied, dipping his head respectfully, "I know she's very important to you and your clan. It is good that it's the male who moves, instead of the female. I will support Chepi however I can, even if it means laying down my life for her."
Grinning a little at the other lioness's words, the striped lion leaned against his soon-to-be mate, nosing her affectionately, "Oh, I'm sure it is she who should be applauded, for putting up with me."
He was thrilled. Ecstatic. On cloud nine. Chepi would really be his. This wasn't a dream, and he wouldn't wake up alone any longer. He didn't know what he had to do in order to transfer prides, but he would do it in a heartbeat, no matter what the cost. He was the luckiest lion ever.

Tailsin watched the two of them and smiled. She could hardly say no now could she? Chepi was the only one of her children she thought would never mate so the fact that this male seemed to adore her so... well she wasn't going to let that go. Once hey were mated he was stuck with her anyway.
"Then I give you my blessing." She smiled at the pair of them and then looked directly at Chepi. "I shall talk to your father about it though I have no doubt he will give his blessing." She let a smile cross her maw again and turned to Arun.
"If you wish to join the clan you are of course welcome. Now the two of you are mates you may find somewhere to stay, anywhere of course. You must however both go to your clan leader and inform her of the situation." Tailsin looked at them both and chuckled, she felt Doea move about before fluttering off.
"I guess I shall see you around then Arun, I shall go and find my mate and inform him of the situation." She dipped her head to them before turning around and following the bird back to where they would find her mate and Chepi's father, oh and probably Nili.
Chepi listened carefully to everything her mother said, when her blessing was given Chepi felt over the moon. She and Arun were together now, they could officially be mates and he was hers. All hers! Oh could life get better? Oh yes it could... they could introduce her new amazing mate to Nita, yes that would make life even better!
She didn't speak until after her mother turned and left, she had no reason to speak during that time she just smiled widely and nodded when her mother spoke directly to her. She waited for her mother to be out of sight before turning and pretty much leaping on Arun.
"You are all mine and I love you!" She would have shouted the last bit as loud as she could if it were possible but she didn't want to get them in trouble seconds after becoming mates, that could wait a little while.
"We must go find your clan leader but will we find a den first? Our den Arun... all ours!" She smiled happily as she spoke oh could today get any better? No of course not she had Arun, her Arun and they were now mates. They had their parents blessing and he was joining her, they would live together forever and start breeding... oh yes cubs, their own little army of minions... though that could wait because right now she wanted her Arun, just him and nothing else.

Although it was a little silly, when he thought about it later, (over and over again,) the striped lion was visibly surprised when Tailsin gave her blessings to the young couple, his expression intensely comical. For some reason, he just could not fathom that Tailsin would give her blessings to him, although what he was expecting, even he didn't know. For her to say no? For her to say she was too sweet, too gorgeous, too perfect for him? Probably all of the above, actually. But when he got over the initial shock, his expression was alight with happiness, his grin broadening, his muscles tightening under his fur, as if he did not want to sit still. Which he didn't. At all. If someone had told him to run around the pride's lands ten times, he would have done it without thinking, and probably had tons of energy to spare.
Things were really working out.
Bowing low to the older lioness, Arun dipped his head respectfully as Tailsin left, responding happily to her as she turned. "Thank you ma'am, if I can be of any service, please let me know."
As soon as she left, Arun was about to turn towards Chepi when he suddenly found her leaping on top of him, and he rolled a little with her, licking her cheek. "I love you too, Chepi. My Princess," He replied, grinning broadly, nuzzling her, "We can do whatever you want to do first. Whatever you want."
