I was about to say that we'd never sign something like that because we stand to gain absolutely nothing, but then I remembered Obama's tendency to tongue European a*****e when an apology is requested or a stern look is given.

It's just a treaty intended to help poorer countries take care of environmental issues and to form an environmental union. It's not going to erode US soveirnty any more than the European Union eroded Britain's soveirnty. Why the hell do so many people find it so threatening? It's a benificial treaty that will bring harm to no one. Here. This is relavent: Captain Verd Okay, so here's what I got so far: Everyone in the UN has to work together to curb climate change. There are countries that are too poor for that, and countries that would be hit especially hard (like island countries). All countries in the UN have to recognize that it's not their country alone that will be affected by climate change, so they have to extend their reach. They will extend their reach by offering technology boosts and other aid to countries in exchange for letting the UN cutting back carbon emissions in that country, working on cleaner energy, etc. Sounds great. Seriously. Calm the ******** down. This isn't going to bring about a new world order. It's just gonna clean up the planet a little bit.
