Running playfully through the shallow water, Angie was alone for the moment. She missed those she had known as a hatchling, but she hadn't seen any of them for some time now. These days, she talked with sea gulls, laughed with the waves, and ate with the crabs. The beach was her dearest friend. By now, she was almost afraid of new kirin. What if they wanted to take her from her home? Or take over her home?! But that wasn't now. Her child-like whimsy was in control, playing tag with the waves as they rolled up the shore.

Ah, it was such a perfect day for a flight. The sun was shining, there were very few clouds, and the sea breeze was strong. Chococo was enjoying a very leisurely glide over the shoreline at the moment, and didn't immediately notice that she wasn't alone on the beach. In fact, it wasn't even until she was fairly close that she noticed the orange mare prancing about below her. "Oh," she said softly to herself, circling around to land. Even though she was generally quite shy, it was such a rare thing to come across another Kirin on the beach. Plus it would be rude if she didn't stop to at least say hello to the other.
The chocolate-colored mare made a graceful landing upon the sand. With a soft smile she slowly made her way over toward the other. "Hello. I don't believe that I've seen you before," she greeted in her usual soft tone. "My name is Chococo."

Lost in her world of play, Angie didn't notice the mare above until she heard the gentle thump nearby. All of a sudden, someone was next to her! She yelped and jumped back, blue eyes quickly looking over the other mare. She had heard the warm greeting from the dark female, but was as wary as ever. "Hi, um, Chococo." She said slowly, nostrils flared to small the air. Where had this female come from. She made a quick suspicious look at the sky before looking at Chococo again. This time, she returned her own soft smile, a near match of the other female's. What should she say? Oh! Name! "My name's Angie, and, I've pretty much always been here." She gave her ocean a look. How could she ever leave it? "I've never seen you before, so I suppose we're even?" She added lightly, calming quickly.

"Forgive me, I didn't mean to startle you," she said apologetically, noting the clearly startled reaction the other mare had when she landed. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Angie." The beach was quite long, so it shouldn't have been too much of a surprise that they hadn't ever seen each other before. Still, it was comforting in a way to know that others besides just her family resided on the shoreline. "Beautiful day, isn't it?"

"It- it's okay." Angie replied, feeling silly. "Yes, a pleasure." She pawed at the sand a moment, looking for inspiration until Chococo spoke up again. "Yes. It's very nice out." She smiled that they were agreeing on something. "Have you been in the water yet?" Finally, she had to address the wings. "Or, can you not go in with those things?" She had never seen a kirin with wings before, so was of course curious.

Chococo chuckled slightly at the question. "I haven't yet today, but I can," she replied with a smile. "I just have to let my wings dry before I can fly again is all." Actually, that sounded like a nice idea at the moment really. It would probably be very refreshing. "Is the water nice today? Perhaps I might go for a swim."

Angie giggled. "I'm not really one to ask. I always think the water is good for swimming." Feeling better about Chococo for her appreciation of the water, Angie jumped backward into a coming wave with a laugh and jumped back forward. "See? I think you'll find it nice though."

Chococo had to admit, she was growing to like this other mare rather quickly. Angie was innocent, friendly, and quite happy as far as she could tell. With a small, the chocolate-colored mare trotted over to the water's edge, also doing a small jump in at the next wave. It was slightly chilly, but still refreshing. "You're right, it is quite nice." The Airin spread out her wings and splashed the top of the water lightly with them. "I take it that you swim alot?"

Angie watch Chococo's actions closely. Did this female really like the water? She grinned when the other jumped into the waves. Eagerly following, Angie leapt into the ocean to where the water was up to her belly. "Yes, I do. I grew up on the beach. I could never leave it." She dunked her head under the water, coming back up with a shake of her head. "So where do you live?"

"Just over that way," she answered, stretching out a wing in the direction of her home. "My family and I live on the edge of the forest, so we travel a lot between woods and beach. I like both really." The mare stepped a bit farther into the water herself, nickering contently at the cool tingly sensation against her skin. "Have you never been anywhere other than the beach before? Even briefly?" Even with as much as Chococo liked to stay at home with the family, she still occasionally enjoyed venturing out for a bit and seeing new places. Perhaps it was the Airin in her that encouraged this migratory urge.

"Well, I hatched right inside the forest, but I found my first friends here, so I don't leave much. I've always loved the water." Suddenly, she let out a squeal and ran for the beach, shaking each leg wildly until something green flung away. "Except for that." She said bashfully. "I hate sea weed."

Chococo was quite startled by Angie's squeal; she had nearly fled half-way out of the water herself before seeing what it was that had spooked the other mare. She let out a sigh of relief that ended in a half giggle. "Seaweed's not too bad," the winged mare remarked, slowly making her way back onto the shore now. "It has an interesting flavor at least. Not the best mind you, but interesting nonetheless."

Angie wrinkled her nose, both in embaressment and in distaste of the wretched plant on the sand. "It tastes all right, but I don't like when it wraps around my legs. It's... creepy. Especially when you're in the deep water and you can't see what has you." Satisfied with that description, Angie headed back to where the water lapped at the shore, letting it rinse her legs off.

"True enough," Chococo replied with a smile, watching the other female 'rinse off'. She decided to rejoin her in the water then. In a sudden bout of playfulness, the Airin slammed her wings against the water to create a large splash all around. Might as well get as wet as possible if one was going to go for a swim, right?

Angie looked back in surprise at the loud sound of wings on water. Caught in the playful mood, she ran full force into the water, emerging from underneath with a shake of her mane. "What's the furthest you've gone into the water, Chococo?" She asked, a playfully daring glint in her eye.
