Welcome to the Fifth Age's Fall party!

PostPosted: Fri Oct 16, 2009 8:03 pm
In the aftermath of the monsoon that ransacked Telrunya, a fog rolled in out of nowhere and settled comfortably on the island. When the clouds broke, a beautiful full moon waited to great the denizens of the island.

Quietly, while the island slumbered, without any fanfare or announcement, a new building appeared on the edge of Dragnid Forest, near Waplei Marsh. A very large, gothic-style mansion; dark and forboding. The type of place ghost stories are written about.

---

Outside of the HQ, in the normal spot Iris posts messages from The Guardians, was a large poster, written in black ink in a very fancy, gothic pen.

Quote:
Citizens!

You are all codially invited to a special spooky Fancy Dress Ball at the Nauro Mansion, on the edge of Dragnid Forest.

Come in costume and prepare to have a frightfully grand time!

Due to the nature of this event, details will be delivered as they are needed. We need to keep some mystery to the events as they unfold. wink This event is focused on RP. All prompt replies will count towards a 'final tally' to reward our grandprize. Every piece of RP counts towards your 'entry'.

Part One:
  • Everyone is invited to the costume ball! Post up your introduction, and description of your costume. Even if you don't have a Pae'il, you are welcome to still show up and RP with us!
  • If you signed up at the beginning of the month, those Pae'il are required to attend. You may include more of your own Pae'il if you wish, however the 2 you signed must be at the event.
  • Prompts and clues will be posted daily.
  • RP as much as you want here, just make sure you respond to each prompt.

Part Two - The Ingredient Search:
  • Each day (in real time), there will be a new prompt posted with two ingredients to be found by the Pae'il.
  • Each player must pick ONE ingredient that they believe is the needed one, no matter how many Pae'il they are currently RPing. This is your OOC guess at which ingredient is correct. Please make sure that your choice is made obvious; no vague attempts to try and choose both now! You may then respond to the given RP prompt as appropriate, in as much or as little detail as you wish, describing your Pae'il finding the ingredient and returning to the mansion with it.
  • For guessing the correct ingredient, the player will be granted two points. If you respond to the prompt for that day, but guess incorrectly, you will receive one point for trying. If you fail to respond to a prompt and miss that day completely, you earn no points for that day.
  • More information on these points will be given once all the ingredients are gathered...

Part Three - The Cure:
  • This portion of the game will proceed as follows:
  • Once a day, for five days, you may attempt to cure one of the cursed Pae'il. To do so, you will roll 3 12-sided dice. The first die will correspond with one of the Pae'il wolves (numbers will be listed below). This is the Pae'il that you're attempting to cure for the day. The second die will correspond with YOUR number...the third die is the wolf's number.
    Possessed Pae'il
    1. Alicia
    2. Alister
    3. Apollo
    4. Aysu
    5. Beldaran
    6. Elizabeth
    7. Faroth
    8. Kali
    9. Lhiannan Sidhe
    10. Morena
    11. Pastela
    12. Sera

  • If your number is higher than the wolf's number, you succeed in pouring the potion over the Pae'il! Hoorah! You get 5 points for the day added to your total.
  • If your number and the wolf's number are equal, you managed to get some potion on the wolf, but half of it ended up on the floor or elsewhere. Nice try, just watch your aim next time! You get 3 points added to your total for the day.
  • If your number is smaller than the wolf's number, the possessed Pae'il succeeded in dodging your attempt completely. Don't give up, just keep trying! You'll get 1 point for the day in this case.
  • If you fail to respond for the day, you get no points for not participating. You may not post twice one day to make up for missed days. If you miss a day, you missed it, just like the ingredient search.
  • I might suggest doing your roll for the day, then going back to edit in your RP response afterwards IF you would like to RP appropriately with whatever the day's results are. Also, to help keep organized, I'll try to post a breaker between days to keep track, but if I don't and it's been more than a day since the last marker post, you may go ahead and post for the next day. Like the ingredients game, you may choose to post in your response which day you're posting for, if you want to be really nice to me and the staff tracking this. ^_^
  • The game starts now with the rest of tonight plus Friday as Day 1.
  • NOTE: Wolves may be 'cured' more than once and by more than one person. So, just keep throwing potions and I'll be tracking which wolves are cured and how many times. Pretend the potion has a delayed reaction until we finish all five days. *wink*

  • Mystery Pae 2 - includes light edits and will be fall/halloween-themed.
  • more to be announced as the events unfold.

Prizes will be rewarded for RP. A few smaller prizes will be given out for other aspects, but we will divulge those in a few days. This event has an air of mystery about it, so I don't want to spoil things. wink

The time had come.

According to the posted announcement, tonight was the night of the Fancy Dress Ball at Nauro Mansion, the mysterious building that had appeared recently on the edge of Dragnid Forest. Still, it was near enough to Waplei Marsh that it could be considered at least...less dangerous than Dragnid itself. Even if it possessed an eerie atmosphere all its own.

The night of the Ball had come, and it couldn't have brought a better Halloween atmosphere with it. The full moon seemed to be playing a game of hide-and-seek with the world below. One moment, it showered the land below with its cold light; the next, it had disappeared behind dark clouds, creeping across the sky like a creeping, invading force.

Dark for so many nights since its appearance, Nauro Mansion's windows now glowed with a yellow light. It might have seemed welcoming, if one didn't think about the fact that the building hadn't existed until recently appearing out of the ether. That, and the building had seemed deserted as far as any outsiders were concerned.

Who then had turned on the lights?

The doors stood open as if to welcome guests for the Ball, and a glance inside showed corridors lined with candle light and gothic trappings. The light beckoned visitors in from the gathering fog. Those who hesitate might take a look at the exterior of the great mansion once more. Spires stretching towards the sky, like claws grasping at the moon, fade into haziness as more and more of the fog pours into the area. Are those the tops of the towers? Or do more rise even higher to the sky? It's hard to say at this point.

Through two large ornate wooden doors, a chilling chorus of music echoes from the room ahead. Those that enter find themselves in a large spacious and worn room; the ballroom. Brightly lit by candlelit cobweb covered chandeliers, the room looks almost inviting. Almost being the word as there are things hard not to notice that would put even the bravest soul on edge. Sitting on a stage at one end of the room sit musical instruments resting against wooden chairs. They lay lifeless, dusty and some broken, and yet music floods the room as if they were playing.

The smell of sweet treats and warm delights and snacks assault the nose as food on silver trays float around the room, pausing when anyone ventures close enough to reach out for some. Most of the room is set for Pae to have space to dance, however opposite the stage sit round, dusty covered tables and chairs, set beneath a wall covered in portrait paintings. It is hard not to notice them, as it appears everyone of their eyes is fixated on you the entire time.

A costume party, she had read the note days before. For a while, she put if off unsure it if was worth dealing with or not. As days past, the idea started to warm up to the idea. Shadows hide many things, they could conceal her as well. This was a chance to work on socializing again, in the same illusions she shrouded herself would be at play here as well.

By the time she decided to do this, it had been the day of the party. This led to the problem of getting a costume so late. Thankfully, there was the HQ, it had never disappointed her before, and if it wanted to continue to exist it would not start now. In a room upstairs, she found a door that lead to a costume closet.

There, with time ticking, she picked the first costume that had colors she liked. It was teal blue, very form fitting and short enough to fit her taste. The kimono type design with black trimming on the crossed neck line and black sleeves, it had a black obi but Morena replaced it with a silver one. The blue trail to it came down to her ankles but wasn’t enough to annoy her. If it did get in her way, as a pae unaccustomed to wearing cloths, it could be detached. The dragon design was striking in black and silver, part of the costume that appealed to her the most. It needed some changes, even though clothing was not needed and she never wore it, the less of it the more appealing in her mind. She shortened the dress so it came extremely high showing of her legs and just covering with three inches of dress. Her top was given more so when her illusion kicked in her chest would really shine.

Looking through a jewelry box, she found ornate silver and blue chopsticks to hold her hair up in a bun as well as a few more hair ordainments. She kept the costume so it would be easy to hide if she needed to, but still felt like she could show off. The last bit, she used her staff to focus her powers in order to give her bust a boost and sculpt her curves more. She used the power to make the staff look like a fan so it didn’t look too weird that she had something in her hand.

In full vanity, she used no make-up, feeling too perfect to touch up. With the time coming to a close, she took off approaching the scene with an appreciation for the atmosphere. Assuming everything to be optical illusions, an overly creative host, she breezed through only looking here or there without much interest. One of the first to arrive, or the first she wasn’t too sure, it was up to her to amuse herself. The portrait grabbed her attention the most. Approaching, she scrutinized them to figure out how it appeared to be watching her.

Elizabeth pokes her head into the room. Looks like she'd gotten there before anyone else, really. Her the beads in her hair click against her cheeks as she looks around. Eerie, really, since the music is playing with nobody touching the instruments, and the food trays bob and sway about the room, tempting her to taste from them. Whatever they were, they smelled delicious. Lifting her dress as she walks, Elizabeth heads for one of the trays.

Amapola hadn't been happy that she had to stay home with Masozi. Elizabeth suspected that Amapola had expected her to want to stay home, away from the party, but Elizabeth wanted to go this time--the mansion looked cool and she really didn't want a repeat of what happened to Amapola the last time. So she donned a loose white dress, some sandals, and strung some gold-colored beads into her black hair. Put on a gold circlet and poof! Cleopatra. She even took some gold body paint and drew a little snake tattoo on her skin.

"Alriiight, we're early!" exclaims Kieran jubilantly as they enter. "Means I can get a good view of all tha ladieez as they walk in." He snaps and points at Elizabeth. Somewhere he'd found a pinstriped zoot suit and a dark red tie. He straightens his fedora with a little red feather in it and smiles at her. "Thanks for helping me find all this stuff, 'Lizabeth," he says, using his childhood mispronunciation of her name, grinning like a little boy.

Sometimes the pair liked differences, tonight, they decided to stick together. Beldaran and Darius had both noticed the announcement about the fancy ball posted. It took plenty of time to sort it out but they'd decided to go together, and dress in the same theme.

Darius' hair, if normally was called 'messy' with his spikey hair-do was currently slicked back with enough hair gel that only the faeries would know if it would ever move again. He had on white dress top and short tux-style top, and a pair of black pants. He had found some fabric and created himself a cloak, and his sister one too, but that was besides the fact. all in all he thought he made a rather good dracula, he'd only jsut put the finishing touches of the fake blood before he and his sister had left the house

Beldaran on the other hand didn't really feel she had to change much about her hair, and thought white was a perfect color. she'd scrounged through various sources till she'd found a dress that was the right size, and had died it black and madeteh bottom edges somewhat ratty, it had sleeves that were a lil too big for her and it's length dragged a bit on the floor. She added the cloak her brother had made and was now introducing herself to her brother not as Bel, but as Morticia.

The pair made their way to the mansion, and soon poked their heads into the eerily empty building. Both were hesitant to take fromt eh floating trays and Bel couldnt stop watching the portaits and whispering to her brother.

Finding the notice same as her mother had, the nymph was even more uncertain about wanting to go or not. While she couldn't stand the goody-goodies of the pae world, the female didn't have much against her fellow pae. The event was a good chance to try and find others like Devyn, just thinking of his name brought a grin to her light face, others that knew how to have her type of fun. If something touched up the punch, it really had its appeal. A party in the dark, just maybe she could steal someone a way for an after party, 'party'. While she had her preference, practice with another would do just fine.

Course; to go along with her preferred company, specifically with the little unique feature of the male, her costume choice was easy. She was going to play this up and have fun with it. Picking a vampiress, all she had to do was find the version of the costume type was more of challenge. She could go with a costume that would make her look like a stripper for cheap attention, or really go classy.

This number's main body was a black form fitted velvet top that melded into the curve from her core and her well rounded hips followed by a dramatic v down her front. The silver accent went down her front above both boobs to where the velvet ended. The bottom was a slightly belled deep silver silk skirt. It reached the ground, but so far didn't seem to be a problem. It was tested extensively to make sure she could still move or fight if she had to. Fingerless long coves that came with the costume came up to her mid upper arm with fake spider webbing. The female mused as why spiders were connected to vampires.

That rejection of the connection was why she didn't wear the spider choker, but rather picked a silver bat choker that hung close to her neck. Using costume make up, she made a rather graphic bite marks on the spot where her neck curved softly to her shoulder. The marks included a dark red blood trail going down as if freshly bitten.

Picking a black floor length cape clasped at her neck without interfering with the mark she had placed. Not about to miss out on the most stereotypical vampire feature, she chose two small fangs placed one tooth closer to the center then where she knew them to belong. They were noticeable but she was still able to close her mouth without a problem.

The whole night she was going to be fiddling with them, the uncomfortable strangeness was just going to irritate her. Still, she was determined to go with what amused her.

To the party, the warrior watched everything. The moon moving in an out worked with the scene, but she liked to be able to see without hindrance. Entering the building, her first snag came when her dress caught on a piece of the stair up. Clothes were so weird! Continuing in, the music bothered her, the instruments couldn't make the sounds. What fully set her on edge was her mother being there. She was trained to defend her family, but the female was torn between that and knowing one of the only beings that scared her was in the room. Once again, she could trust nothing with that woman around.

Sighing, her eyes searched for someone to socialize with, someone real.

Having straightened up around the house after the visiting Trick-or-Treaters, Takeko had made sure everything was in its place again before heading out to this special party she'd heard so much about. A ball? And dressing up? It sounded like a lot of fun, especially since she couldn't remember the last time she'd had such an opportunity without having small children to watch over in the meantime. Not that she minded, of course. But some time to herself was a luxury she'd not had the experience of enjoying so often.

So, still clothed in her fancy, deep indigo kimono, hair pulled up off her neck and pinned with chopsticks, she'd set off for the party. However, arriving at the front door of the mansion, she gave her decision some pause. "Maybe...this wasn't such a great idea," she frowned.

"Well, it is Halloween, Mom. It's supposed to look creepy...I think," muttered the mixed angel, one hand on his mom's shoulder in reassurance...the other rubbing his neck awkwardly. With a sigh, Saffron fiddled self-consciously with his eye mask. Lately, he'd picked up some books in the HQ's library about this character, a hero of sorts, except not exactly. His name was Zorro and while the stories were fascinating, the pictures had also captured his attention as a great costume option.

So, he'd gone with it, using supplies from the HQ to make himself a black eye mask and cloak, as well as finding a pair of black pants that fit and a white button-up, ruffled shirt that he'd left half open. He wasn't all that used to the idea of wearing clothes, though he knew some Pae'il did so more regularly than others. Still, he thought he'd done a decent job of capturing the image, based on most of the pictures that he'd seen. And it was only for one night, right, so he'd just bare with it. Shouldn't be so bad.

He'd even managed to find a fencing sword among the variety of crazy costuming things lying about the HQ. Granted, it was a wooden model, not a real metal one...but the image was good enough if he left it tied at his waist and didn't draw the blade.

"Come on, Mom. Let's check the place out. Maybe the party's already started without us? If anything seems weird, we'll leave, 'k?" He smiled, nodding as she smiled back, and took her arm to escort her inside.

Having cleaned up from the chaos, including making sure she didn't have any soot anywhere on her costume, Eudora was happily on her way to the party as well. Her long, white Grecian dress flowed and fluttered behind her, shining in the dancing moonlight and making her appear like a ghost floating across the marsh. She'd even added a few bangles to her hair and some jewelry to complete the look of being some sort of ancient goddess. She hadn't picked one in particular...just thought it might be something pretty to dress as!

Of course, she'd had no luck getting Cabel to come with her. She couldn't even get Daddy to help her with the Trick or Treat boxes, so she'd finally given up on getting him to go with her to a party of all things. He'd become so moody lately. Not just depressed like before, but...thoughtful. He spent a lot of time at the HQ lately, and less time at their home in the forest. Still, at least he was getting out, so maybe that was a good sign?

Either way, there was no way the young fae lady was going to let a party pass without attending. She missed out on enough stuff as it was. She wondered who would be there? Anyone she knew? Would there be good food? Dancing? Lost in her thoughts, she almost missed a blur heading straight towards her on a collision course.

The young faun sped over the marsh's soft earth, careful not to misstep and injure himself, but still in a hurry to get where he was going...as he always seemed to be. He was alone, but that had become normal lately too. Kane had finally snapped something at him about having one brat to deal with, he didn't need two. He'd managed to lose the faun, but it was no big deal. He could take care of himself.

In any case, Faroth had caught word on the Isle of some sort of party tonight! Parties were fun, but he'd also heard you were supposed to dress up as something. Well, something not yourself at least, so he'd had to puzzle over that one for a while. What could he dress as? He was already a faun, so not one of those. A tree? Err...his antlers already sorta' made him look like one. Was that cheating?

After much deliberation, Faroth had decided that a faun dressing as a tree was cheating, so he'd have to figure out something else. He didn't exactly have a lot to work with for a costume either, aside from what he found in nature. He hadn't been brave enough to venture INSIDE that strange building yet. So far, he'd found berries, pine straw, some tree sap...

So, in a feat of brilliance, he'd crushed some blueberries and soaked some pine straw in the juice. Once they'd been stained suitably blueish-purple, he'd started sticking them to his fur with pine sap, leaving gaps from time to time for his natural gray coloring to show through. No one had told him any particular rules about what he could dress as, so no restrictions, right? Once he'd felt that he'd done a suitable job, he set off for the party.

Which left him racing now across the marsh, skidding to an awkward halt, hooves scrambling, before he slammed into a pretty lady fae. "Err, hi there," he smiled awkwardly. "Name's Faroth. You look really pretty tonight, you heading to the party thing?"

Eudora's eyes widened at the strange teen before her. What in the wide world of Telrunya? Okay, yes, she'd seen a faun toddler before, if briefly, so he wasn't a completely foreign sight, but she'd never seen one grown. And what was that stuck all over him? Pine straw? Wait...blue pine straw? "Thank you. I'm Eudora, what are you?" That came out wrong, but she was too busy juggling random questions to correct herself.

He blinked at the young woman, then smiled. "Isn't it obvious?" When she shook her head, he struck a proud pose. "I'm Kane!"

Obviously everyone on the Isle had to know, Kane, right? Everyone at the Great Tree knew each other, afterall.

The fae was honestly struck for something to say. She merely stared at the youth, head tilted to the side before looking back at his face. "...who?"

The faun visibly wilted, seeming to pout at her. "What? You don't...? Ah man...this sucks." He kicked a hoof in the muck, then turned his gaze back towards the nearby glow of the mansion's windows. "Hey, there it is! Well, nice to meetcha' anyway. Have fun at the party!" With that, he waved and dashed off again for the mansion and into its open doors without hesitation.

Blinking some more, Eudora watched the youth disappear into the giant building. What or who was a Kane now? She'd have to find out. Also, what about this Faroth kid? Was he another of those faun things? Did he grow his own pine needles, from those antler things? That'd be so cool!

Grinning like a child with a new toy...or more accurately, Eudora with a new mystery to solve...the fae set off as well for the mansion. As she passed between the open doors, the thought on her mind was that if nothing else, this looked to be a very interesting evening.

After goofing off for the kids and participating in all of the trick-or-treat madness, including the cleaning up that inevitably came afterwards, Texas was going to, for once, kick his feet up on a table and close his eyes to get some truly peaceful rest. Perhaps he would even use his bed! For once, everyone seemed sort of okay. Perhaps it was just a nighttime illusion, or the happiness of the night still clouding his vision of what was really going on.

...Unfortunately for Texas' rest, it was probably the second one. As soon as Texas went to take off the "nails" he had so cleverly glued to the sides of his neck, Aysu swept in and grabbed his hand, dragging him towards the door without even letting him ask a question.

Instead of asking why Aysu needed him, Texas' first question was, "Where are we going?"

Aysu glanced over her shoulder at him, hitting him with the fancy, twisted ponytail her hair was in accidentally. "You're going to the ball with me. I need moral support." She certainly didn't seem like she needed support if she was confident enough to stroll outside in what she was strolling in. After all, a golden bikini top with gold ball chains hanging down from it all around and a similar bikini bottom with similar gold ball chains and a translucent black cloth wrapping around her legs was not exactly what anyone would call modest.

Still, that wasn't what she needed the support for, and Texas seemed to acknowledge that fair enough, soon enough releasing himself from Aysu's grip and moving to stroll alongside her. After a few quiet moments, Aysu glanced to the side and offered a small, "Thanks," before continuing forward towards Dragnid Forest.

While Dragnid Forest was a place that had terrified her since she was young, the naiad really wanted to go to the ball, if only for herself. Aysu could bring herself to go outside again and mingle with others other than her younger brothers. She could live her life normally without looking back at what had happened... well, it would be a while before she could do that, but for the moment, this was a step in that direction for Aysu. Soon, she wouldn't have to cry herself to sleep anymore.

...Ugh. How emo did that sound?

Though this manor was rather creepy. Was this really the place where she was going to break out of her cocoon? She knit her brows warily at the creepy place on the outskirts of the creepy forest, but with a small nudge from Texas, Aysu sucked it in and strolled inside, Texas right behind.

And what a sight to behold! Texas glanced up and looked all around, absolutely enamoured with the terrifying scenery. Whoever organized this party certainly knew how to create the horror movie ambience. Cobwebbed chandeliers, music coming from nowhere, trays floating in the air, portraits staring... This would be good for a haunted house, but a haunted ball worked as well.

Any vague subconscious disappointment Texas may have had with getting no rest once again was gone, and the demonic strolled forward ahead of Aysu, reaching out to one of the trays to get some of the pepper jack cheese laying on it. The demonic was a little surprised to find that it stopped completely and let him grab a piece--were these trays being held by ghosts?--but shook off the surprise and instead took as much food as possible before letting the tray mysteriously float off again.

"Whoever did this certainly knows how to make an ambi--"

Why had Texas froze like that? His mouth was slack-jawed (admittedly, a bit of a gross sight to Aysu since Texas had been chewing), and he seemed to be staring at nothing. Eh? She tilted her head at Texas before following his eyes to wherever he was trying to look. All she saw was a lady wearing a kimono and some guy with things sticking out of his head that didn't look like ears who was wearing a Zorro costume.

A very well done Zorro costume, at that. Maybe that was what he was staring at? "Texy, snap out of it." Aysu snapped her fingers in front of Texas' eyes, forcing the dazed demonic to pay attention again.

"Oh, what?" Texas turned bright red before muttering, "Er, sorry." Okay, so he was supposed to be the calm and supportive one here, not Aysu. This wasn't the time to stare mindlessly at attractive men he had only met once. What the hell was wrong with him! Did he not know how to deal with these things?! It was called taking it in stride, Texas. Not that difficult...

...Though he was wearing a very nice costume. Texas liked it a little too much. "Just an acquaintance. Met him when the Isle fell... I'm going to go say hello, you can follow if you want." Naturally, when Texas glanced over his shoulder, he found that Aysu was following with an amused smirk on her face. Great. He was being too obvious.

The Frankenpae quietly cursed himself before he arrived in hearing range. Texas swallowed hard and yanked at his collar, feeling too nervous to greet someone for the first time he could remember in a very long time. Aysu's snickering seemed to snap him out of it, though, and Texas shook his head before shouting over to the two others, "Takeko! Saffron! Good to see some familiar faces in this excessively odd place!"

(( If anyone's really curious and can't get an image off my brief description, Aysu's costume is imagined something like this. ))

Apollo had found his way to the new Mansion for the Fancy Dress Ball. He was happy to go as he had told his father he was going so that he didn't have to babysit his new little sisters. The sisters had been a big shock and well, he didn't want to babysit them. So, instead he wanted to go to the party even if he hadn't seen his love in a while.

Apollo had come dressed as Luke Skywalker complete with real lightsaber. The lightsaber was one that he made so instead of being blue-ish white it was more yellow-ish white. Apollo didn't think that would matter to much.

The fae found himself in a room with trays floating around. This looked promising. He wasn't sure who to talk to so for the moment he just tried to get something to eat.

If there was a party somewhere Jazz had to be there. She was the Elder of Entertainment after all. She felt it was her duty to be at all entertainment functions. At least to check them out if not to perform. She knew the others might have been sick of her singing by now. Not that she was or would ever be. The elder did feel bad that she left Hula Bob's Hallloween party, but knew Bob wouldn't mind.

The elder was dresses in a black dress that looked like it was from the 1940's. dress Her hair was styled in a 40's style along with her make-up. hair and make-up

The elder looked around for someone she knew to talk to. She has always loved going to these things but always had some kind of odd time. So many awkward dances with men she never saw again. She guessed she was just that kind of guy magnet.

Theron pushes the door open and stands in the doorway for a moment. Sounds and smells and sights flood his senses.

"Oh," he says as he feels someone behind him. "Sorry, go ahead," he stands aside and holds the door for a lovely young woman with pink hair and a flowing white dress. He smiles politely at her and goes back to wondering at the spacious ballroom and the disembodied music that fills the air.

He'd deliberated a long while before coming to a conclusion as to what to dress as. It'd started with a long piece of burgundy fabric he'd come across. After fashioning it into a cape, found some old leather and made a gladiator belt out of it. He'd intended to go as one of the 300 Spartans, but couldn't find a good shield. So, he'd rigged up a bedsheet as a toga of sorts, put some laurels around his head, and had a rather effective Marc Antony costume. ((Not to be confused with Marc Anthony. xD /bricked)) He couldn't wear shoes, on account of his hooves, but he did wrap some brown cloth stripes around his ankles to look like knee-high gladiator sandals.

And so now he looks around for someone to socialize with.

Kelebek...hadn't been sure that she wanted to come. The last party she attended had had...interesting results. Still, they'd been interesting in a rather good way, so she decided to try her luck again. The sign had said it was a fancy dress ball, but to come in costume. She'd wondered how to do both effectively, as her first thought was to come as an octopus, but that wasn't very fancy now, was it?

And so she'd poked around HQ until she found this lovely dress, and she was reminded of a legend she'd heard as a child, about a princess who fell under the spell of an evil magician. During the day she'd be a normal human, but when the moon came out she'd turn into a swan.

Kelebek had taken the dress, and then attached white feathers around her wrists and neck, tossing in a few black ones for contrast. It was simple, pretty, and elegant. She worries as she walks toward one of the food plates that she'd do something stupid to spoil her lovely costume. Just then she trips and falls flat on her back in front of everyone. She sighs and runs a hand through her hair, and gets up again. "Sorry," she murmurs to whoever might be listening.
