It was early in the day and Kairu had left the den already. Something strange had been going on around the pride lately and he was wondering off to go see if he could find some friends. Today he was looking for one friend in particular, it had been sometime since he had last seen Tahki and he was hoping to run into her. She always had good theories about what was going on and perhaps she would have an explanation as to why the atmosphere was so tense around the pride, and why his mom had been up late crying the night before.
He went over a ridge and down towards a partly swampy part of the pride lands, it was no secret that Tahki liked her mud. As he walked he kept his eyes peeled alert for anything going on around him. It didn't take him long to spot Tahki's blue pelt not to far off in the distance.
Chobi:
Tahki was staying close by her den lately. Something strange was happening around the pride. Something she didn't under stand. Mother had taken in three cubs and she was sad lately. Now Tahki wasn't allowed to wander the pride alone and instead was told to stay close to the den. Her mother had never been so serious about anything like she was about that one command.
This wasn't fair. Tahki was a great explorer and liked her leg room. Specially since she was growing like a weed now.
Ness:
Kairu came up to Tahki's den, happy that her den was not to far away, his mother wasn't overly found of the idea of him tracing about the lands before on his own, and he had a feelign with the way things felt now around the pride that she would be a little more angry then usual.
"Hey Tahki!" he called out as he came up to her, "How are you?" he felt strange asking this question lately it seemed no one int he pride was very good. At the moment he was very frustratrated to be a young cub.
Chobi:
Tahki got up from the mud puddle she had been sitting in and gave Kairu a small smile. It was hard to fully smile when the airs around the pride were so dense. You could nearly cut them with a claw. It was nice to see Kairu though. Tahki hadn't seen him , or really any out side cub in a while.
"Kairu," The female smiled and splashed some mud in his direction.

Ness:
"Long time no see Tahki" the cub sent gently as he sat down next to his femaile compainion. Hoping to relax the mood a little bit, he could tell by looking at Tahki that she too was feeling the the same way he did, suddenly tense and uneasy in his own skin.
"Things are different now aren't they Tahki?" he asked quitely while looking around him. He noticed other young cubs inside of her den, and noted that perhaps he would ask about them later.
Chobi:
Tahki smiled when he sat down next to her but frowned when he brought up the sudden change in how things went. Things were much different now and even a blind lion would be able to see those changes. More of a feeling then anything.
For a cub or a juve it was a hard concept to really grasp.
"Yeah," She frowned and splashed some more mud at him, "I think something really bad happened. "

"Me too...." he trailed off what more could be said, it would appear to him that neither of them knew what was happening. He tried a different topic, something that was different, there was no need to draw more attention to the tense air, Kairu felt it was hard to breathe because of it.
"Tahki, did your mommy have more babies?" Kairu asked nodding towards the small cubs inside her den, Kairu wasn't sure that lions were able to have babies that close together, but the little ones inside the den looked some what like Tahki and her sibligns.
Chobi:
The cub looked over her shoulder at the smaller cubs around her den. She frowned some , not that she didn't like the new cubs, but she had a feeling they weren't her mothers. They had a smell that differed from her and her siblings.
"I don't think they are related to us," She looked back at Kairu , her hot pink orbs focused on him. A brow raised, "Maybe momma just wants us cubs to help out with them. To teach them about evil lizards and such."
She splashed more mud at Kairu and smiled.

Ah the lizards, Kairu had not forgotten about them, he had infact even been practicing a little in his den. He wanted to impress Tahki with his new skills but he wasn't sure if she would leave the den and go anywhere. In stead trying again to make her happy he decided to ask her more about the lizards.
"Is there any new news on the lizards movements?" he asked, playfully getting down into a pounce position ready for a fight
Chobi:
Tahki smiled, oh lizards how they got her rants started.
"YEAH! I think they have set what ever their plan was in motion! They seem to be spreading this feeling of dread all around the pride." Tahki smiled, "I killed five today." The number was a fabrication but the truth was she had killed two.
"We great warriors need to be on our toes and looking out for our dens it looks like," She crouched down too and wiggled her butt in the air.

Kairu smiled this was the Tahki he knew, it was exciting to be around her, what an energy this other cub. "Well how about I help you gaurd your den for awhile?" He asked crawling down and around looking under some of the leaves that were in the area, he sucseeded in finding a lizard and grabbed it up by its tail, presneting it to Tahki.
"For you." he mummled
Chobi:
Tahki giggled and crunched the lizards head in her jaws. Kairu had been practicing.
"Thats one down, " She smiled and slurped the lizard down out of his mouth. Her slurping earned her a maw tap with her maw to Kairu's. She giggled and backed up splashing more mud at Kairu.

As the mud came up and hit Kairu in the face he laughed out loud, it was refreshing. He turned and splashed mud right back at Tahki. It was wonderful to be able to relax, it wasn't something that he had gotten to experience that often lately.
Look that way, he said pointing over behind Tahki, trying to get her to look the other way so he could attempt to takle her, she was a little older then he was so he needed her to be distracted before he thought he could suceseed
Chobi:
Tahki laughed, taking mud to her face and splashing some back. It was good for the little cub to hear some laughter and play with some one .
Tahki's turned her head to where Kairu was pointing. the little blue cub was a trusting and niave cub at heart. She had no idea that Kairu planned on tackling her.

Happy that his plan worked he lept into the air and colided with Tahki's body. It worked well, as he fell to the ground on top of her, he summersaulted off of her, enjoying the play time, he landed on his back in the end, completely covered in mud.
He stood and looked at himself, "Wellnow look at what we have done, I am covered in mud." he said chuckling and stuck his tounge out at Tahki, he was clearly just teasing her.
Chobi:
Tahki her self was covered too from being tackled. Both the cubs were truly a muddy mess at that moment. The female laughed and laid down in the mud. She didn't get why some lions didn't like it. The mushy gooshy feeling between her paws and the sounds it made was pure fun.
"Kairu, you need to roll around more. Then I can deem you covered," She laughed and started to roll around her self. Soon the white blue lion was a plain brown one. Dripping with mud.

Kairu didn't waste a moment, he too flopped down in the mud, making a note to try to clean before he made it back to her den, he didn't want to add work to his mothers night. He like Tahki enjoyed the noise and the feeling of the mud.
He flipped back and forth on his back, hearing the mud squish out on either side of him, he flipped over to the other side, and slid his stomach along in the mud, like he was a snake. Standing he looked down at himself and then into the eyes of TAhki, "Do I meet your approval?" he asked her.
Chobi:
Tahki nodded a few times, "Of course you do silly. " She crouched down in the mud about to pounce the muddy Kairu when she heard some one from inside ther family den call her name. The little lioness got up and looked at Kairu. The voice sounded like her mother, though she couldn't be sure.
"I.. gotta go or momma will have a fit. " She gave Kairu a sad smile. "See you later though."
The little muddy lioness trotted back to her den howlering back, "IM COMING!" Only once glance over her shoulder was spared before she disappeared into the shadows of her den.

Kairu watched as Tahki disappeared into her den, he was glad he knew she was safe. He waited by the front of her den and cleaned himself quickly before turning around and running towards his own home, he had been gone a long time, and he didn't want his mother to worry too much.
