The wheel of time has a funny way of turning. It seems fall has come to the land again. The vast forest, tinted by dawn-twilight, has turned its top out in final, blazing bursts of colorful glory before winter comes and turns it all to death and solitude for a stretch. The glory, of course, can only be noticed when it's not raining, as it often is in the fall. As it will this day.

Skryre watched as a chill wind blew leaves off the trees and they gently floated down to the surface of the lake, where they lit, floating just on the water's surface. They were crisp, as it hadn't rained since they had brought on their fierce and flashy paint job. These tiny details fascinated and perplexed Skryre, as he watched the tiny husks float by. He looked at his own skin, gray in most places, purple in others, and felt a pang of jealousy. The orb in his hand, however, soon glowed with a calming aura, and Skryre felt these feelings fade. He had something just as beautiful.

Autumn, the season of noticeable change; many found it spooky or drab, but Imra found there was something very cozy about it, as though some one where laying a downy blanket over the land to protect it from the cold to come. Then again things seemed most beautiful and honest before dying too. She had no envy for the lands brilliant displays, nor their approaching fate, just a simply appreciation for what they perhaps tried to teach other’s about them.
Imra had just retrieved her skull from the lake again, it seemed to favor the place for some odd reason, and it’s constant wandering offs where warring on her. The smell of rain was in the air, and though Imra did not mind it, she did not wish to be in it either. Having draped herself lazily over the floating skull, the two meandered about the lake side looking for shelter form the rain to come, but instead of finding shelter they found another kirin. Imra tilted her head to the side a bit in realization that this was the first of her own kind she’d ever meet. She was curious.
“…Hello…” She said plainly after a moment of staring, the greeting more of an announcement of ‘some one’s here’ then ‘hi, how are you’.

Skryre did not start, even though he had been snuck up on in his brooding. He turned his head slowly, pupils dilating slightly as they pulled away from the orb he held. Pupils in eyes that were filled with wonder the second he looked at her. If he had seemed quiet or solitary before, it was gone now. He quickly fluttered his wings and was on his feet, then in the air, in a matter of moments.
"Oh, my. What a specimen!" he cried, and the light and mist swirling inside the orb clung together, the shape of an eye forming. "I haven't seen another Kirin in such a time! Hello, hello!" A small grin was forming on his face.

This ‘specimen’ of a kirin seemed un-amused as she stared at Skryre with an almost blank indifference, and said nothing. Her black skin and fur were mottled with and almost toxic, burnt looking blood berry red. Her hair and tail end where a stark white, and decorating them where skulls, but they where different from the one she was slumped over and now slid quietly from; it’s eyes glowing faintly like the embers of a just dieing fire seemed to seek Skryre out and blatantly stair. White hooves never touching the ground, Imra took up a seated position in the air, letting the skull float about her of it’s own accord.
“Hmm… A specimen…” Imra said at length after taking in the kirin before her compared to the one moments before.
“Are we so rare?” Her tail swished idly behind her as she spoke in a plain flat manner.

Skryre stopped short from his orbit around the other. The eye inside the orb flickered, almost indignantly, than faded, the star pattern taking its place. He composed himself, rather rapidly. "My apologies. Of course you're not just a subject, nor are we terribly rare. I've just been on my meandering way alone for a while, documenting nature and wild fauna, and I haven't one of my own for some time." The grin on his face shrank slightly. "And look at me run my mouth. I apologize, once again. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Skryre. And what might I call you, my fair acquaintance?"
