(Although this is for G'ind to meet some of the Telgar Candiates, Riders and their dragons are more than welcome to jump in if they like.)

"Again?"

Yes, Chosen. The leather is cracking badly. You left it out in the sun for far too long. The stocky dragon loomed over the pile of riding straps laying on a shade-covered stone near the feeding pens, nosing them while staring at the heavy cracking and flaking of the hide. Approaching with a flask of oil and a rag, G'ind muttered under his breath while scowling at the ragged pile. What had started out as a simple stitch job had now turned into something that would take a good while. And to make it worse, he had other duties to take care of today as well.

It had turned into a rush job...

"By the shards of the Queen's first egg! And here I thought I had finally ceased to carry on my carelessness." He sent a mock glare at the Blue watching him from a sunny spot near the wherry pens. Large eyes only whirled a light green in response to his Chosen's "anger". 'Why did you not warn me? I asked you to warn me the next time I did something like that!"

You did not listen when I called for you, Mine. You were far too busy writing something down in the weyr.

"Humph" Sometimes, there was not use argueing with one who shared link with his heart and soul. Settling down on the ground, the Rider grabbed, untangled and started wiping (more like scrubbing) at the tired leather with the oil-soaked rag.

Do not take your frustrations out on it, Mine.

Oh, shush Varoth.

“Listen up Erik, I need you to go down to my room and get some supplies. I have a satchel filled with thimbles set to the right of my bed; go ahead and bring those to me and then, when you get back, we will get started on your work for today.” A strong voice bellowed, crystallized eyes watching as the woman in question nodded, her own stare set off to the side and a look that insinuated distracting thoughts.

“Erikai.” The voice again sounded, this time set in a completely different context. “Go get the satchel and walk straight back here so we can get started. I do not want to hear any of your stories; you've lived here for twenty turns, there can only be so many times that you get ‘lost’.”

Those were Adriane’s words, said about three hours ago and ignored; but this was to be expected.

On rare occasions, Erikai can preform at her very best. She can remember techniques in detail and soak up information that is given to her the very first time; it is on the days that come more frequently that the girl has trouble with…well, pretty much life. Erikai has a disability; not one that is prominent and can be noticed through day to day conversation, but one nonetheless. It has played a very serious roll in her life, turning what should have been a great childhood into something sinister, and what should be an exciting adulthood into anything but.

Today, her struggles do not seem to interfere with her lofty, happy persona. Erikai walked down the paths of Telgar toward the pens, searching for a glimpse of any colored dragon that would offer something to think about. She could go get the bag and return to her tutor right away, but around the corner are those leathery skinned, winged creatures who she can't help but adore. In the distance wings spread, practice flights in session or perhaps an oil down gone completely right, but all were too far for her to gawk at.

It wasn't long before she saw the man with the straps; his actions reason enough for her to pause and then approach. "Excuse me," she thrummed, stopping at a reasonable distance when the Blue became clear in the background. With one hand she waved in greeting, freckled cheeks rising as a giddy smile spread. "I know it is none of my business, and not my place to ask, but by any chance would you like some help?"

Motioning to the pile and drawing those dark brows high in question, Erikai spoke again, "That is if you need it, I don’t doubt your capability to finish them all up, just thought I would offer." Perhaps she was being too forward, and she most definitely risked quite the scolding from her tutor later on in the day but… he seemed like a neighbor in need, and Erikai was known to help out her neighbors. Shoving the rear tapping, blond strands of hair away from her face, she waited for a reply and set her eyes on the dragon every other second in pleasure.

(Erikai is an apprentice tailor / Candidate, so I hope she is alright to throw in the mix. <33 I'm also new to RP so if I do anything wrong and you feel the need to note it, please do! ^^)

Time had flown by since G'ind first started his task, yet the work was tedious; He was pretty much forcing himself not to rush the leatherworking, to make sure he made no mistakes...Because he sure didn't want to regret it later on. Oh no, especially not during flight practice...

You act as if I would let you fall.

G'ind put down the strap he was oiling and stared at his partner, wiping away a few beads of sweat clinging to his brow with his palm. He was just about to say something back when the voice behind him broken off any planned thought; Turning around, G'ind blinked at the female standing behind him and at the greeting she sent. She certainly looked excited about something...

"Ah!" It then clicked, breaking the stupor oiling had settled in his mind. "You wish to help?" It was certainly welcome and not unwanted. And with two, it would make time fly by faster. Smiling at the girl G'ind motioned for her to take a seat. "Please, be my guest. Varoth and I could use the company."

At the sound of his name, the forementioned Blue rumbled a light greeting to Erikai as he stood and moved closer to the pair. He could see her admiration, and like most dragons, he was not immune to the approving glances from his Chosen's kin. Stretching out his neck, he lower her head just so he was eye-level with this new human. Teal eyes just stared for a few moments before he pulled away, a light shade of green touching the natural color.

She flushed a dark pink in response to this mans acceptance, advancing one step before pausing when the dragon stood.

Drowned by the sound of her own heartbeat, it’s quickening pace drumming away as the Blue took one step, then another, and probably only a third to reach her position. There were many opportunities for her to see dragons, many chances that she even took on when given the time, but to be close enough where she could reach out and run one hand over that textured nose...it was like torture.

Noting the color change of the male’s eyes, Erikai's features (which had fallen to no expression due to awe) lightened, her excitement apparent by the ‘dance’ she jigged before crouching onto the earth beside the rider. "I should have a rag in here somewhere..." she remarked, still far too excited with the proximity of this Blue but well enough to realize her reason for helping.

With legs stretched out before her, Erikai dug her hand into the leather bag she always carried with her, (and to Adrianes confusion the one she always returned to work with) retorting an enthusiastic "Ahh," after a few moments of searching, and drew out a dark brown work cloth. Setting it in her lap, the girl looked back to the man, a proper greeting in mind.

"This shouldn't take very long at all now; I have had my fair share of leatherworking." Between mess ups...she thought, which threw off her mood slightly. "My name is Erikai, by the by." A smile did not let the pain from her own criticism show, however.

Yulu had been pretty lucky as far as Candidate chores went, most of her tasks straying away from things like repairing tunics or peeling potatoes in the kitchens, and today she found herself with the fortunate blessing of running errands/delivering messages. Most of the deliveries contained letters or small parcels, nothing too heavy for her, and the young woman found herself scampering along to complete her tasks.

It should have been noted that she had no idea where she was, so sending her on errands like this was a fool's folly, but Yulu would probably never admit that she was more likely to get lost at least once or twice, her rpide wouldn't allow that. Getting lost would be chalked up to experience and learning, a good way to map out the Weyr should she ever Impress and have to stay here. There was no point in her refusing to learn either.

As she broke outsie towards the Wherry pins Yulu had to shield her face from the sun, her eyes having adjusted to the dimness that embraced almost every hall of the Weyr. It's not like it was dark inside, but half the time places just weren't as bright as the outdoors. She noticed first that the heat clung to her like a blanket, but it was easily dismissed. The Healer Hall had rooms far hotter than this, and she was quite certain the sands that the eggs she had been called for were twice as hot.

Eggs, yeah? I wonder.

She kept to herself in thoughts as she walked further out, greeting those who happened to pass her by, when she finally looked down at the package in her hand and the name scrawled on it. She had no idea who this person was, let alone where they would be, and a scowl quickly spread across her face. Her steps came to a pause near the pens, more specially near an area that in current residing was a massive Blue and his rider (plus a blond girl, unimportant to Yulu).

"How in Faranth's name am I suppose to deliver something to someone I can't even locate?"

The question was meant to be asked of herself, though it was plenty loud enough for anyone around to hear. Yulu's voice was low and gravely, seemingly not meant to match her frame.

( Yulu, for all purposes, looks like a young man with a girlsih face...even though she is female. You probably wouldn't know she's a girl until she tells you, or you can get close enough to really tell =) )

Fresh from a bath Folen ran his hand though his wet hair to fluff it up a bit. It was nice to finally be rid of the smell and grime from mucking out the animal pens for the Wherries and such that weyr kept.

Since he had finished his chores for the morning Folen found that he had a bit of time to himself. Deciding to check the weyr out a bit more he took to wandering down passages he hadn't been in before and suddenly found himself out in the weyr bowl.

The brightness and warmth were lovely after the cool bath and Folen smiled as he stretched in the sunlight. "Oh excuse me, I didn't realize anyone was there. I'm candidate Folen. I hope I'm not interrupting?" He said with a quick bow to Erikai, G'ind, Varoth.

She'd seduced some bubbly pies out of the kitchen women for the cost of a song- and the promise of extra kitchen work later- and was prepared for a full afternoon of wandering when she caught sight of the blue and his rider. Deep blue eyes lit on her friend Folen standing near him, and a few of the other Candidates near, and Jadamirei decided to make herself known. "Hello!" she called brightly, moving over to the group. The Blue recieved a courteous half-bow, the rider one of her Bright Smiles(TM?). The other Candidates got a shy wave before she gave Folen a hug.

She hadn't heard Yulu's question, but what quickly caught her eye were the riding straps that the Rider and one of the other Candidates seemed to be looking at. "Did something happen?" she looked concerned for a moment, surreptitiously giving the rider and the blue a once-over. It didn't look like there had been an accident... She almost sighed in relief.

The basket of bubbly pies over her arm were forgotten temporarily, as she beamed at the people (and dragon) near her.
