Fight A Monster Of Your Choosing Rules ~ No posting in a test thread unless it's your test. ~ Limited to 4 posts. You can use less. ~ You have 2 weeks to finish your rp. ~ Must use the battle field type assigned to you. ~ You must follow the testing scenario assigned to you. ~ Have fun!
Scoring: A 85 credits B- 75 credits C- 65 credits D- 45 credits F- 20 credits ~Ice- Pretty simple with this one. The floor becomes solid ice. There are random chunks of ice protruding from the floor. And of course, you have little to no traction.
~Desert- Pretty much nothing but massive sand dunes. You sink down into the sand, which slows you down a LOT. If the wind blows, the sand gets kicked up, which obscures vision.
~Open Field- A plain grassy field with nothing on it.
~Ocean- A mini ocean about 40 feet deep. There are five floating platforms for battlers to stand on. The plat forms bob around and it's really hard to keep your balance on them.
~Dense Forest- The arena is packed from wall to wall with dense, tropical trees. As in any tropical jungle, there are lots of vines and other such things to get tangled up in.
~Land of Fire- Parts of the arena floor sink away, leaving behind pits of lava. Also, pillars of fire erupt from the floor periodically
~Concrete- A plain concrete floor.
~The Abyss- Near complete darkness engulfs the arena. Dark energy is abundant in this field.
~The Sanctuary- Opposite of the Abyss. Light energy fills the arena. Its very bright!
~No floor- The floor drops away leaving a pit filled with spikes. There are levitating platforms at varying heights, going all the way to the top of the arena. It's hard to jump from platform to platform, and trust me, you don't want to fall.

Mizuki knew that, by now, she should know what to expect, since this is her second time taking a test at Tenshi University. However, as she fell down the tunnel from her dorm room once again, she was startled by the heat of the desert sun, covering her eyes instantly with her arms. What? Again?! She thought, incredulous as she bent her knees and prepared for hitting the sand. Landing and feeling the impact Mizuki automatically lurched her body forward into a roll, getting sand in her hair and mouth despite trying to avoid doing so. After rolling down a sand dune she stood up and brushed herself off, then took her katana in hand. “Well, this should be easier than last time…” Mizuki murmured in an attempt to calm her nerves, still anxious despite having been tested in this location.
Hearing the sound of shifting sand behind her she swung her blade as she rotated back, but her weapon hit nothing but air. “Huh?!” Suddenly she felt something pinch at her from below. Screaming with shock she looked down to find a small creature, similar to that of a crab. Without another thought Mizuki swung her foot in the air forward, as if she was kicking a soccer ball, and the crab-like creature flew in the air, landing a few meters away. Landing on its back its legs were waving in the air for a few moments in its attempts to regain balance. Finally able to bring itself right side-up, the sand crab hissed at her, a small monstrous sound able to travel the distance. You have to be kidding me. Mizuki thought after looking at her foot, finding that the claws of the creature pierced her boots and had penetrated the skin. Last time they sent me monster bigger than the shrine at home, and now they send me this?! Going forward, ignoring the slight pain in her foot, Mizuki bent down and let her katana skim the sand, the blade’s edge toward the small sand crab. Even though she did not get the speed she wanted, she was able to annihilate the annoying monster. Oh yeah…the sand slows you down here… Feeling a breeze on the back of her arms she then closed her eyes, covering them with her arms since she knew what was going to happen next. A gust of wind then kicked up a substantial amount of sand, and Mizuki had luckily seen it coming. As soon as she felt the wind died down she opened her eyes, adjusting once more to the bright landscape due to the sun. Looking at a sand dune she realized there was something…different. It seemed that grains of sand were flowing down from the dune. What…? Turning her gaze to the top of the dune she saw a line of the small crab-like creatures over the top of the dune. “Great,” She said sarcastically, bringing her arms up for a moment and then letting them fall to her sides again for emphasis. As soon as the line had begun to make its way toward her Mizuki saw another line appear, and then another. “Now you decide not to be nice.” She murmured. “Just great…”

“Oh, come on guys,” Mizuki said, taking a step back, “one of your kind started this. I mean, see?” She said playfully, pointing to her injured foot. The sand crabs responded with their hissing, an army displaying their anger and resentment to their enemy through a war cry. “Ah, no truce then…?” She said softly, as if to herself. Nishimura then scanned the surrounding area, seeing that she was at a disadvantage since she was surrounded by sand dunes on every side, as if she was in a valley between mountains. “Okay…” She said to herself, turning as she felt vibrations through the ground. Seeing no other way around this she ran away from the incoming sand crab force, knowing that she was outnumbered. I don’t want to use my magic this early. But, I have no choice. There’s too many of them… Running up a dune Mizuki looked behind her, seeing that the creatures were closer to her than she thought, remembering again that the sand slowed her down and not the crabs. She then picked up the pace, even going to the extent as lowering herself to use all fours to get up a sand dune. I have to hurry. They can’t be too intelligent as to figure out what I’m going to do to them. She thought while scurrying up the sand.
Finally arriving at the top of the dune she quickly focused her concentration on her hands, small sparks of light appearing at her fingertips as she sheathed her sword. “Focus…” Mizuki murmured, remembering what her mother and father taught her as she began to draw ancient characters in the air, yellow streaks of writing emitting sparks like sparklers on the Fourth of July. “Disperse…” After finishing the spell she wanted she spread her hands out, her eyes furrowed as she broke the spell apart and placed different parts in separate locations around the crab army, now at the pit of the sand valley. “Breathe…” Opening her palms she looked down at the creatures as they began looking around, and some who had began to suspect something started climbing up the sand either to escape or reach her. “Raitei Shorai!” Bringing her hands forward Mizuki spoke the execution words, and the characters of her spell began to link with rays of lightning, a loud thunderous sound coming from the initiation. After all were linked an explosion of light resulted and blinded the crab-like creatures as bolts of lightning made their way into the sand valley, eliminating each of them one by one.

Taking deep breaths Mizuki watched as her spell began to wane, revealing dark spots in the sand where the sand crabs had been as the character she had made began to fizzle and fade. “Well, they are taken care of…”[/crimson] She murmured, and almost sighed in relief. However, she knew that it wasn’t over. There has to be something more…this can’t be it…right? Nishimura thought, looking around her. Even as she turned she found nothing but endless sand. Giving up she looked to the sky. “Um, test proctor or whoever is watching…Am I done?” She asked, but then another thunderous sound. As she closed her ears with her hands she noticed that she was sinking into the sand at an alarming rate. “What?!” Bringing herself forward using her body weight she tried to roll forward, and succeeded in doing so. But, unfortunately, she brought her body in the wrong direction and ended up rolling down the dune she had previously took so much trouble in climbing. Going on all fours as she stopped at the bottom she began to spit on the ground, since she accumulated an amount of sand in her mouth. “Ewwwww….” Then, a monstrous roar echoed in the desert, and the ground began to tremble under her feet causing her to rise in alarm. Then, looking around her to find the source of the sound she realized something.
She seemed to be rising in the sky, but, the ground remained under her.
Looking down Mizuki saw that she was being lifted up, and that a large part of the ground seemed to be rising up as well. “Um, is this normal?” She asked, taking a step forward. Suddenly, the ground stopped moving, and the roar broke the silence again. Her eyes widened at a realization-- the sound was coming from beneath her. Now she stood on what was the shell of a giant sand crab, at least fifty feet high and seventy feet wide. Looking down she saw that she was now sinking into the shell at a rate faster than normal. Now what?

Mizuki began to struggle now, having trouble as she used her hands to lift herself out of the sinking sand. However, she noticed that her hands were beginning to be sucked in as well. Immediately pulling out her hands she began writing a spell, again determined to do so with a limited amount of time. Well, I guess I spoke too soon. She thought with a sigh. She began to write her characters in the air, and they were a bit sloppy. Frowning at her work she continued, feeling the sink lower now. She had started when she was knee deep, but now the sand was at her waist. ”Ugh…” Mizuki needed to create a big spell, one that will be able to take down this monster upon initiation. Soon she felt that she needed to hands, sinking down lower than her waist, the sand up to her stomach. Suddenly she felt the crab move, causing a break in the spell she was writing. “D****t! Just stay still!!” She yelled down, continuing even though she knew that the spell may backfire. Know the sand was up to her bust, and she struggled to finish it. “Just a little longer…a few seconds…” Again remembering her mother’s words she focused, even as she felt the sand up to her neck. Soon enough she knew her head would be buried. Thus, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes and mouth. Keeping her hand moving she could see the spell in her head, continuing to write as she felt the sand go up to her brow. When she was finished, she clenched her fist. ”Raitei… Shorai…” Another blast of light came forth, and she felt a jolt of her own magic go through her body, lightning bolts stabbing the giant sand crab from all sides. As the monster began to sink and lower itself to the ground, becoming the sand that it formed from, Mizuki was found underneath the surface a few feet under, her heart rate low but still breathing. I'll drop an 80 here.
They were good, lengthy posts that moved at an even pace.
The only thing is the ending...It leaves a bit to be desired. I'd kinda like to know about that last 3-4 sentences covering something like
Gin thrust his hand up, grasping and gripping handfuls of sand to gain some form of leverage. Slowly emerging from his tomb of sand, like a snake from it's egg, he coughed dryly, spitting out a mouthful of sand and mud. He pulled the rest of his sand-coated form from the ground, shaking off heavy clouds of sediment. "....I need a shower." Gin walked off dumbly, wiping sand out of hard-to-reach areas.
