Fight A Monster Of Your Choosing Rules ~ No posting in a test thread unless it's your test. ~ Limited to 4 posts. You can use less. ~ You have 2 weeks to finish your rp. ~ Must use the battle field type assigned to you. ~ You must follow the testing scenario assigned to you. ~ Have fun!
Scoring: A 85 credits B- 75 credits C- 65 credits D- 45 credits F- 20 credits ~Ice- Pretty simple with this one. The floor becomes solid ice. There are random chunks of ice protruding from the floor. And of course, you have little to no traction.
~Desert- Pretty much nothing but massive sand dunes. You sink down into the sand, which slows you down a LOT. If the wind blows, the sand gets kicked up, which obscures vision.
~Open Field- A plain grassy field with nothing on it.
~Ocean- A mini ocean about 40 feet deep. There are five floating platforms for battlers to stand on. The plat forms bob around and it's really hard to keep your balance on them.
~Dense Forest- The arena is packed from wall to wall with dense, tropical trees. As in any tropical jungle, there are lots of vines and other such things to get tangled up in.
~Land of Fire- Parts of the arena floor sink away, leaving behind pits of lava. Also, pillars of fire erupt from the floor periodically
~Concrete- A plain concrete floor.
~The Abyss- Near complete darkness engulfs the arena. Dark energy is abundant in this field.
~The Sanctuary- Opposite of the Abyss. Light energy fills the arena. Its very bright!
~No floor- The floor drops away leaving a pit filled with spikes. There are levitating platforms at varying heights, going all the way to the top of the arena. It's hard to jump from platform to platform, and trust me, you don't want to fall.

Kira was nervous. This went way beyond normal test nerves. She could handle sitting down and BSing her way through a page of multiple choice questions. But this... this was very different. She'd hardly known what to expect, and then she'd done a little snooping. She disliked her findings. A varied room? A monster? Kill it? Ridiculous. She had signed up of her own will, yes, but only after had realized the full extent of her mistake.
Nerves showed in the poor girl's appearance in the shape of unwanted appendages. She had one ear. One single, furry black ear upon the top side of her head to offset her lingering human ones. She also had a cat tail, black and long, flicking around her with a mind of its own. One single fang protruded over her bottom lip, and the pale hand she pressed to her fluttering stomach was clawed on just three fingers.
"Nnngh..." An odd half whine, half groan escaped her lips as deep blue eyes flicked around the room. It.. was hot. It was very hot, and that only added to her discomfort. She could almost feel the heat seeping through the soles of her shoes, and lifted one up to check if the rubber was melting. ...will I be able to stand on this alright? she asked herself silently, face twisting in anxiety as she crept a little further into the room.
There was no turning back now.

Oh god, she wanted to turn back.
Kira's outfit was not ideal for her current setting. She was wearing jeans that were uncomfortably sticking to her skin. Paired with these were converse, a grey t-shirt, and, the worst feature of all, a black sweatshirt. ...if I put it down, will it catch fire? She honestly wouldn't be surprised if it did. So for now, the girl simply rolled up her sleeves as far as they could go, awkwardly bunching the fabric up around her arms.
"Stupid, stupid..."
She took a few more steps into the room.
"Stupid, stupid... Why did I...? Oh god, stupid, stupid..."
Pale, partially clawed fingers pressed once more to her belly, as her other hand wiped the glistening, gathering sweat from her forehead. Stray strands of her dark hair were already beginning to stick.
"Stupid, stu-"
She nearly died.
The girl let out a yelp as the ground seemed to give way, and she lurched herself forward, rolling into an accidental somersault. She popped back to her feet as soon as they'd finished flying over her head, and whirled around to see what had happened. The ground had moved. Actually, it'd sunk, and it'd vanished. In its place? Lava. There was lava there.
"Wh.. what the..?" Kira was left gaping, eyes wide and locked upon the absence of flooring. With deadly lava beneath. "You... you've got to... be kidding me..." This was maddening. She could hardly believe her eyes, but her stinging skin helped her mind to accept it. It wasn't some sort of hallucination meant to frighten her. She could feel the heat almost painful against her skin. She took a couple sharp steps backwards, and just in time too.
"A-ah..!" Another yelp escaped her lips, and her widened eyes shifted sharply upwards. Fire this time. A pillar of fire had shot from the ground like some sort of massive flamethrower. She cringed, covering her face with her arms as she shrank back from the blast of hot air. Seconds later, her fingers shifted to her eyebrows to see if they had been singed off. Nope, still there... Good. "This.. can't be happening. It's a freaking death trap!" she shouted at no one, glaring around the arena. She wanted a way out.
Instead, she was confronted with a whole new problem, and quite abruptly too.

It had said there would be a monster. That was the whole point of this little event, wasn't it? Somehow, between the fire blasts and lava pits, this had escaped the poor girl's mind. The creature must've taken offense at being neglected, because it didn't hesitate a second before making itself known. It did it in quite a rude manner as well. Didn't it have a mother to teach it manners?! Kira would readily bet it hadn't a single friend.
It announced its presence rather stealthily for a being so large. One second, Kira was staring down the lava pit with apparent hatred. The next, she was sent skidding across the ground with scorch marks suddenly upon her side, burnt through her sweatshirt and shirt as if they were paper, to leave a nice little cluster of blisters upon her skin.
Kira lay there stunned for a few seconds, her eyes wide and staring, as the ground threatened to add further blisters to her cheek. At first, she had no idea what had happened. She hardly realized she was on the ground in the first place. Then her hand lurched to clutch at her searing side, then jerked away again at the fresh waves of pain the touch brought. During this time, her eyes had managed to find the culprit. She was left in awe over how she'd missed it in the first place.
This being, in fact, had actually crawled from the lava pit, and it had done so while its prey was distracted by the following fire blast. It was furry, yet apparently fire resistant, as the lava itself flowed off of its form like thick but harmless syrup. It nearly matched its hiding place in color, consisting of varying oranges and reds, with black tips upon its ears, tail, and paws. It was a canine of some sort. Kira liked to assume that most canines were from hell, but this one really fit the image. Fire proof, with little flickers of flame spiraling from its nose and between massive teeth with each breath it took, it stood as large as a bus and made an exceptionally frightening sight. Especially to one who was naturally afraid of dogs.
Now she really, really wanted to go home. The eyes staring at her were hot as coal, narrowed as the foot long teeth bared from a mouth that was growling out so loudly that the ground itself seemed to tremble. Or maybe that was just her. She'd admit it in this case, to anyone who asked; she was scared shitless.
She found herself wondering if they'd stop things before she died, or if they'd just allow it to happen. Perhaps others who survived their encounters would mock her for failing her own. Maybe they wouldn't even bury her. Maybe there'd be nothing left to bury. Her father would get a letter of her mysterious disappearance and never be told the truth. It'd become a great mystery, and- "Shut up!" she hissed at herself, and shoved her hands upon the ground. Ignoring the sting in her palms, she lurched to her feet and dove forward.
Just in time, too. The girl had a talent for last minute escapes, at least.
The creature had opened its massive jaws, and as if it were somehow part dragon (again, Kira wouldn't be surprised if it was), it let out a mighty jet of flame that surely would've devoured her in an instant. She could almost feel her shoes melting as she lurched barely into safety. In fact, they stuck to the ground when she landed on her feet again. "D-damn it!" She did the first thing that came to mind, and something she'd have to do anyway if she wished to survive. She leaned down, untied her laces, and hopped right out of her shoes. Then she just kept on hopping, yelping again as her feet rejected the hot touch of the floor. "Stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid! A-ahh..!" She ran. Ignoring the pain in her feet that was working with the burn in her side to hinder her, she darted this way and that with surprising speed, winding her way around the room and always keeping a step ahead of her pursuer. Of course, such things wouldn't last.
She was halted by another trap setting itself off. A lava pit emerged right where she'd been about to leap. She only barely caught herself, skidding to a halt right to the edge of the pit to further burn her feet, then stumbled back again with flailing arms. She toppled right into the leg of the creature. Once again, she was batted like a rag doll. Something cracked. "A-auugh..!" She went flying and skidding over the ground, but her skin didn't blister like before. Her dazed mind managed to piece together a weak explanation; It's been out of the lava. It's cooled...
...that didn't last. She turned, searching for it, but it was gone. Frantically, she scrambled back to her feet, staring around through panicked eyes as she clutched at her ribs. Where-?! Her gaze landed upon the lava pits, two revealed now, then narrowed and watched closely. Yes... yes, there it was. She could see it, a light bulge in the top layer as it lurked just beneath, waiting. She pressed a hand to her head, feeling blood, but simply grunted and disregarded it for now. She could deal with injuries afterward. Right now she had to make use of her adrenaline rush. She had to change.

"A-alright, you stupid mutt..."
Kira shrugged her shoulders, wriggling out of her hoodie. God, her side hurt.
"You wanna play..?"
Her fingers shifted, grasping the hem of her shirt and easing it upwards and over her head. It felt like a rib was broken.
"I'll play with you."
She clutched at her belt, then slowly began to unfasten it. Her feet were on fire.
"I hope you're ready for it."
She turned and tossed her clothing against the nearest wall. No pits against the edge. That's what she was counting on. Then, she closed her eyes. Denying desperate desire to keep an eye on the threat, she closed her eyes, and she kept them tightly shut. Her fingers clenched at her sides, her head bowed, and she fell silent. She focused. She pictured. And she began to change.
Her hands sprang open again, revealing the long, curved claws sprouting from each, no longer randomized. She had gained two fangs, her tail was whipping the air almost violently, and her hair seemed to be withdrawing into her head, while more sprouted along her whole body. At the same time, her very shape was shifting. She'd kept her undergarments on, but the reason for the rest of her clothing's removal was revealed as the two items were simply ripped from her form by her expanding size. Her back arched, legs hunched, her height shortened and lowered her down onto hands and legs, all four quickly shrinking and rounding into paws. The blistered skin remained, but now in the form of scorched fur, and a dark patch of blood stained the fur on her head. However, soon there was no longer a frightened, blue eyed girl. Instead, there was a blue eyed panther, larger than a natural panther, but an insect compared to its opponent. It was like putting a Clydesdale next to a pony. However, Kira was gone. She'd granted the animal control, and it no longer had fear to hold it back. It'd run entirely off of instinct.
When the canine saw its prey had changed, it lurched from the pit, charging head on, and instead of turning and running like she had previously, the panther charged right back. The beast faltered at this, the fiery eyes widening just for a moment. Yet, it seemed that was all the hesitation the panther needed. It sprang. Muscles tensed and released like a coil, launching it's frame from the ground. They collided. Searing red fur charred sleek black, but the feline didn't let go. It had determined a target, and it was determined to reach it. And, it did. Inch long claws latched on, ripping and tearing, and the fiery beast let out a howl of pain. It tossed its head back, releasing another spiral of flame, but the movement simply made the claws rake farther, before they finally released. It was tossed through the air, but true to all cats, the panther landed upon its feet, head lowered as it snarled out, its claws stained crimson. The blood itself was hot enough to burn the padded soles of its feet, but it paid no mind. It watched the dog from hell thrashing, pawing at is own face, blood pouring from now empty sockets. It'd been blinded, and the panther had gained the advantage. It's furry face almost seemed to hold a satisfied smirk.
It didn't waste much time after that. Paws braced against the ground, then once more pushed off, racing toward the much larger creature. But their roles had reversed. The hunted had become the hunter, and the hunter was now a thrashing, confused weakling. The panther had no sense of fear or pain. It pushed on until its job was done, and then it retreated to let Kira deal with the consequences. If it meant her survival would be ensured, Kira didn't mind. In her hands, the power went to waste, and her life would be lost. In this case, with no others around that she could accidentally turn on, she minded giving control even less.
Once more, their bodies collided. The cat hit the dog, landing nimbly upon its back. From then, it was a torrent of wild slashes, ripping its hide, tearing up along its back, the dog bucking like a crazed bronco trying to unsaddle a rider. Again, mass damage was dealt before it managed to separate itself. It finally succeeded, and this time, it was the canine who ran from the cat. As if embarrassed by the very sight, it seemed the panther had decided it was time to end this. The gaze through which it stared down the retreating beast was almost pitying, yet it wouldn't let it get away. More pits were opening up within the ground, and the larger animal swerved as if trying to reach one, but the panther wouldn't have that. It gave chase, running with a slight limp, but if any pain was felt, it didn't show. The feline zig-zagged its way around opening traps, running with a maddened determination. It never let its prey get away. Never.
This time would be no exception.
With another bound and leap, it had reached the clumsy, blindly retreating hell dog. Bodies collided, and the force was enough to knock the already stumbling larger creature to its side. Though, the panther had let out a snarling yowl when they'd hit, finally revealing some of the agony it felt. But it wasted only a second before moving toward the kill. It targeted the neck. After slamming into it and knocking it over, it had pushed off and sprang toward the throat in almost the same fluid motion. This time, claws and fangs had sank in, the latter chomping down, then biting in deeper and harder, catching hold and pulling, ripping skin and flesh away, filling its mouth with burning blood, searing its tongue and chin as well as its paws. But it kept hold, not allowing itself to be flung away this time. Before long, it was enough. The dog couldn't handle such a vicious attack to such a vulnerable place, and the frantic thrashing began to still, and finally, the entire body froze. A deep, gurgling sigh escaped its massive jaws, and finally, the panther released. Blood dripped from its parted teeth, sizzling to the heated floor below. It regarded its victim for a moment, waiting to make sure, and then finally turned to go.
Now, pain was allowed to show. It was limping and walking gingerly upon its paws, trying not to set too much weight upon the front two. The broad tongue was lolling as well, still dripping with the blood of its prey. It crouched and closed its eyes, lowered its head... and when it next raised, it was Kira. The fur was gone, and the shape had shifted back into a human. A naked one at that. The girl staggered to her feet, agony painted across her features. Driven by embarrassed desperation, she stumbled to her charred, blackened clothing and fumbled to tug them on with blistered fingers. Pants and shirt were retrieved, hoodie clutched against herself, pressed between her arms and her ribs. She stared around through one eye, the other winced shut in pain, and saw a door open for her departure. Not looking back at the felled beast, she started toward the exit, grim-faced and flinching with every step. All she could taste was blood, and her entire body felt almost numb with pain. Blood seeped down over her face from her head, and it was difficult to breathe. She'd passed, but she didn't want to think about it. She'd let someone else determine the damage she'd done to herself in the process.
She was beginning to understand why this school had a personal hospital.
"...sss... someone owes m-me new shoes."

I'll drop an 85 here, excellent job spazz.
Though, I might point out that, since your first two posts were all filler no thriller, you could've taken a bit of the second post and worked it into the first one. Just so it doesn't look so tiny in comparison, yeah? Anyway, good job.
