 Blinking as he exited the welcome shadows of the warren and stepped out into the dawn light, the weary owsla paused only long enough to check the area was safe before slipping out. The conversation with Bracken-rah had only added to his sense of unease, and he knew that before he could find any much-needed sleep, he had to find certain pair of owsla and speak with them. He doubted he would be lucky enough to find them together and had already resigned himself to a morning of searching.

He felt well rested, enough.
In fact, the sturdy buck was feeling rather fine. He had slept long and hard within his roomy burrow and had recently surfaced to patrol the Down for his usual duties. The dusty hued creature was tempted by a rather new, delicious looking patch of grass, something that was becoming a bit of a treat as the months turned cold.
He could hardly help himself and stopped to graze for a spell, after paying particularly close attention to his surroundings and the rabbits that ventured above ground at this time. All seemed to be going well enough for now. There was a bit of a stir at the moment, though. Talk had it they would be going on a raid soon, that much he knew already, though he was not sure just who ordered it; Bracken or Cocklebur? He had heard it both ways so far...

He had been right, it was some time later that he spotted the grey-toned fur of one of the ones he sought. Pausing a moment he frowned at the buck some distance from himself, mind once again turning to what Bracken-rah had said. He had to persuade Badassi to join him... the whole thing was giving him a bad feeling.
Moving over he approched the other officer from behind, not even waiting to give warning before hopping up alongside the grey owsla male. "Badassi... " He greeted with a faint nod, voice low and somber.

"Blackthorn." He greeted the dark rabbit that slid up beside him with a brief nod, after swallowing the bit of grass he had been chewing. One tattered ear flicked respectfully towards Blackthorn, while the other remained trained on their surroundings, swiveling now and again at the slightest noise. He's done well enough in this life, so far. Being on alert, even in the calmest afternoon, was a rabbit's best defense.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?" He cast a soft, emerald eye towards the other male.

The dark owsla glanced around, clearly on edge, bebfore turning to the paler buck next to him. "I assume you know of the planned raid that is to happen?" Glancing a way again he flicked his ears, nose wrinkling as he scented the air. Maybe it was just tiredness, or maybe it was worry, but he couldn't settle.. not until Badassi and Althea had agreed to join him...

The paler buck replied stoically as he chewed and swallowed a blade of grass. The hefty creature could note a wary air around the darker, but he left that observation unsaid as he, too, tested their surroundings. One could never be too careful.
