if i have The Immortal of Thunder set on the field, i flip it and gain 3000 life points, then i tribute it to tribute summon my Prime Matirial Dragon, Then the Immortal of Thunders effect activates that would inflict damage to me when sent to the graveyard, would i gain LP because of my dragon or is the timing off?

yes, the timing is off. youll take the 5k damage before PMD officially hits the field

From the official rulings: Prime Material Dragon: If "The Immortal of Thunder" is sent to the Graveyard, its owner will lose 5000 Life Points because this is not damage. "Prime Material Dragon" cannot change it into a Life Point gain.

In a nutshell, you tribute The Immortal of Thunder, which sends it to the graveyard, you take the damage and then Prime Material Dragon is summoned to the field.

Trae You know that would only hurt you unless you do Creature Swap & get a monster from you opponets field.....then you could destory The Immortal Thunder & let them take damge instead! Using the Dragon of course.

Sephs Vamp Girl Trae You know that would only hurt you unless you do Creature Swap & get a monster from you opponets field.....then you could destory The Immortal Thunder & let them take damge instead! Using the Dragon of course. official ruling says that if your opponent gets your set immortal of thunder and flips it, they gain 3000 lp. if immortal of thunder leaves their field after that, it goes to your grave and you lose 5000.
