Jaden yawned, stretching himself under the warm sun, high and bright in the periwinkle sky. The birds were twittering about happily as a soft wind blew, making the patch of bamboo shoots rustle and the soft grass sway as the river gurgled close by.
It seemed to be a good day, and he started to lope along the river, only two worries bothering his mind. The first being his mate, Lunar, of course. He rarely strayed from her side, but he thought he would travel for a bit, see what he could find, and surprise her with a few gifts. It had been a while since he had done anything special for her, and the guilt he felt because of it was enough reason for him to convince himself that he could leave her for a few hours.
The second reason was his six pups. They were adopted, but he preferred to think of them as his. It wasn't as if their real father had done anything to them. Why, the male denied them to be his to begin with; he was a failure of a father, no better than an Omega, lower than a worm, even, to have--.
Jaden forced himself to stop, removing the snarl forming on his features. It would do him no good to think of the male now.
Sighing, he paused and leaned down to drink from the still nearby river, before plodding into the cool waters. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he remembered that when he Lunar met, they had gone swimming in a river similar to this.

Eros trotted along the Neutral territory, nose raising to catch the scents of the Eastern territory he was nearing. He sped up, hoping to cross the borders between territories soon, and tried to appear purposeful, incase his elder sister, Eden, was watching. He had told her he would go to the Eastern territory to help the pack (if something happened in the Neutral lands, where he and his siblings lived, and they were forced to run, it would be great help to know the surrounding territory, right?), but, really, the real reason was that he wanted to explore, and have some fun. Sure, he enjoyed the time in his pack, but he wanted to see new places, learn new things, and, most of all, meet new helixes.
As soon as he was sure he was deep into the Eastern territory, he broke into a joyful run. Drunk on the thought that he had outsmarted his witty sister and was finally able to do as he pleased, he raised his head high, craning his neck, and howled, crying out his happiness and calling to others in his exhiliration.
Until he ran full-speed at a tree.
Rolling to a stop, he looked around quickly, assured himself that no one had seen, coughed, and strutted along, acting as if nothing had happened. He rested near a river and drank, afterwards laying down to smooth out the patches of fur ruffled from his fall, lest anyone nearby had heard him, and assumed from his appearance that he had been the wacky howler.

Shadow grumbled to himself as he lumbered along the territory, sniffing at a clump of flowers here and there, searching for a nice area to claim as his own. He planned to start a pack, with Nani, and, if possible, pups he hoped would be their own, no one else's. He was still angry about Nani's affair, but he had cooled down about it for the most part. After all, it had been a while ago, and the pups forced to stay with him had left as soon as they were able to take care of themselves, thank the gods.
Even so, he could never bring himself to talk to Nani about it. Despite the way he acted, he wasn't that confident in himself, even more so because of the fling. He had thought he was Nani's favorite, her one and only, but as soon as he looked away, she returned, pregnant. Her reassurances that she loved him more than anyone else, and that what happened was only because of some mushrooms she ate, did little to remove the doubt that invaded his mind. And his friend, his best friend, had the nerve to help the one who caused the problem, the male who went off with Nani that night. It was as if everyone he trusted had left him, and now he had no one to turn to, to help out with his problems.
Furiously, he clawed at the flowers, tearing them with one swipe. He felt momentary guilt when he remembered Nani loved flowers, even had some flowers on her flank, but it was quickly replaced with anger when he remembered the pups she bore had flowers as well. Still, killing them brought no joy, or even a sense of satisfaction, and he decided to spare the rest. Turning away, he trotted angrily forward, just to get away from them.

Jamie pranced along happily throught the Eastern lands, weaving around the bamboo skillfully as he flexed the small feathers on his shoulders. They were growing into full-fledged wings, and that excited him, despite the fact that it was obvious to anyone with working eyes that his wings, once fully grown, wouldn't even be large enough to let a pup fly. Still, it pleased him, and he showed it off proudly whenever another was close by.
He flapped his wings experimentally, filled with a rush of glee when they moved. When he was young, he had only but three feathers, and was desperately worried that they would never grow. But now that they had, anything that had to do with them made him happy.
He folded them carefully against his sides, arranging the feathers neatly, and started for the river, a skip in his steps.

Howlite grumbled to himself as his blood red eyes scanned the territory he hated. It was where he had been raised, where he had found out his father left him, where he had to grow up with the rest of his idiotic family. And, worst of all, it was where she resided. The one who took his tail, and ensured he would once more be differentiated from his peers. Because it wasn't bad enough that he had been born as an albino, an ugly freak, he now had a stump -- if it could even be called that -- stuck on his rump. And that coincidential rhyme didn't even amuse him.
However, the reason he hated the Eastern territory most was also the reason he stayed here the most. He had grown since the last time he had seen the female, and he was sure he had dispersed the fear he felt towards her. The memory he held of her was foggy, but he was sure his size and new skill would work to his advantage, and he still longed to make her feel the pain he did.
But so far, he had yet to find her. The territory was large, vast, and when he had met her, the land was covered in the snow that had come from the North. At least he hadn't run into anyone. If anything, he hated company, along with the stares and occasional looks of pity he recived.

Aliana’s face was set in a heavy scowl as she weaved, or rather stomped, through the bamboo forest. Her traveling companion, the brightly coloured male Spectrum, was absent from her side. She had been going crazy in the southern territory where she had been hiding out with the male. Eventually, she had simply started walking and, like always, Spectrum had just started following. Somehow, they’d ended up in the east which Aliana hadn’t minded, the territory was quite beautiful and she had never been there before. Of course, then Spectrum had joked about them settling down in the territory because she loved it so much, she had stomped away. She didn’t intend to settle down anywhere with or without Spectrum.
Huffing, she paused for a moment, her breath coming out in small pants. Her sides were starting to fill out and her stomach bulged a little with the pups but it was barely noticable. The only thing that truely gave away her ‘delicate state’ was the scent, if any helix took enough notice it would have been easy to scent. Thankfully, not many had bothered yet.
Sighing, the young pink helix continued on, until she had left behind the bamboo and stumbled to a river. She didn’t glance around to see if anyone else was along it’s banks, leaning down awkwardly, a little paranoid about hitting her stomach on anything, and began to drink, crinkling her nose at the taste. The best tasting water came from up north in the neutral territory, in Aliana’s opinion, directly from the melting snow of the North. Drinking her fill, she laid herself carefully by the bank, still panting a little. She had been walking only a little while but she tired easily now.
Sighing once more, she lifted her head to glance up and down the river banks, only now thinking to check. She tensed as she spotted another helix, not very far away but actually in the water of the river. The white and red male didn't look overtly threatening but still, she began to yell at herself inside her head for ditching her backup, not that Spectrum would have been much help anyway.

“Ali! ” Spectrum called out, a haggard look on his usual playful face. “Ali! Come back here, Ali! ” He was in a panic, eyes darting around the bamboo forest he had managed to get himself lost in. Of course, it wasn’t himself he was thinking about. It was his Ali, who was in far too difficult a way to be out on her own. What if something happened? Alright, so Spectrum wouldn’ t be much help but he could be moral support, right?
“Aliana! ” He called out, using her full name for once. “Aliana, please, come back here!” Growling softly to himself, the helix pushed through the bamboo, breaking free of the forest only to have one of the pieces whack him as it bounced up from under his paw. Yelping, he stumbled backwards, falling back into the bamboo, the loud snapping and thud of him and the pieces falling over echoed in the surrounding area, making him wince. Maybe Aliana would hear it though, he thought brightly, and rush back to take care of him. He was bleeding a little, he realised, standing up. A jaggard piece must have scratched him, leaving a tiny scrape across his shoulder which dripped blood. It was only little, though he winced and limped dramatically like he had almost lost a leg.
Limping from the bamboo forest, he stood just out of it and tried to scent the air. It had never been his strong point and despite his effort, couldn’t find his lost companion. “Damn it, Aliana, where are you? ” He grumbled, frowning.

Silas was sick of being cold. Sick of snow, sick of the lack of food, sick of shivering and curling up into snow trying to keep warm, which, by the way, didn’t work in the slightest. The North had been bitterly cold the last few weeks and he had had his fill. Walking through Neutral had been easy and pleasant but the country was still too cool for his liking. He had continued on, thinking briefly about going to the West but deciding against it. He liked warmth, not desert. South was out too, what was the point of going somewhere it was warm and getting rained on all the time?
The East was the last place he could think off, warmish and less prone to snow and rainfall, it would be a pleasant holiday. Which was all it would ever be, North was his home and that’s how it would stay but getting away occasionally was good too.
Silas had yet to be approached by or even seen any other helixes. Perhaps his dark colours and scars had put them off, or maybe he was looking in the wrong areas. Not that he was actually looking for company but it was odd that he had seen no one so far. He looked scary sometimes, his appearance off-putting to most other helixes. Scowling slightly, he glanced up, spotting a distant figure. It was another helix, but he couldn’t quite make it out. Fastening his pace, he moved towards it, wondering what kind of reception he would get.

Jaden pricked his ears and stopped splashing at the imaginary enemies he saw, when the sound of someone else approaching caught his attention. Usually, he would have been embarassed with that sort of behavior, especially from an Alpha such as himself, but living with his seven pups had changed him.
"Hello." he called to the stranger politely, climbing out of the river and shaking himself free of water, taking care not to get the young female wet.

Eros looked up, mid-lick, his ears twitching, as a pink and white female padded towards the river from the patch of bamboo. At the same moment, he realized there was another helix there, and jumped up, realizing he should have checked first. Hopefully, the two hadn't noticed him yet. In case they had....
He strode up to the two casually, confidently, so that if they had seen him, they wouldn't think he was acting strange. If they hadn't, then he might as well make a good first impression, right? And being confident was good, so long as it wasn't overconfidence, especially for one of his status.

Shadow flattened his ears, trying to push the troublesome thoughts away. Thinking about them wouldn't do any good. He knew this, but no matter how many times he told it to himself, over and over again, his memories returned.
Suddenly aware of another prescence, he turned around quickly, holding himself up high, his eyes flashing as he regarded the male padding closer to him. He had blood-red eyes, a strange accessory, and many scars across his body.
Shadow saw the scars as a sign that the male was either a strong fighter, or weak to have so many scars. Probably the former, Shadow assumed, from the muscles clearing rippling under his dark coat. At this realization, Shadow bristled, wondering if the male was the type to pick a fight. He certainly looked the part.

Jamie halted mid-stride, alert. He heard the faint sound of what he thought was desperate calling for help. But it was hard to tell. However, he didn't want to leave whoever it was alone, incase it really was a plea for aid.
He trotted towards where he thought he heard the sound originating from, jumping when he heard the sharp crack of bamboo. Quickening his pace, he searched around, and was about to howl, asking where the other was, when he caught the scent of blood.
He ruffled his wings worriedly, following the metallic scent, hoping whoever it was wasn't hurt too much.

Howlite snorted angrily, ears flattening. He was never the patient type, and it had been weeks, months, since he had last seen Hunter, the female he believed to have caused most of his problems. Even if he bothered to ask others, none seemed to have known where she was. And how could they? She had wings. She could very well be on the other side of the world, and if she wasn't, she could easily just fly over there in the time it would take him to reach her.
Seething about it, he pushed his way through a forest of bamboo, shoving against them purposely as he tried to reach the other side. Unfortunately, they weren't as easy to break as he had assumed, and they gave no satisfactory reply when they simply snapped back to their original position as soon as he had left.

Aliana watched the Alpha, which she had quickly recognized him as, splash and play in the river with amusement. He was acting like a pup but soon stopped, having spotted her. Scrambling to her feet, a lot slower then normal, she stepped back instinctively as he moved towards her and began to shake, though not even a drop hit her. “Hello,” she said quietly, bowing her head down in respect to him, though she lifted it quickly, watching him with suspicion. She wouldn't be able to fight him, she knew, if he attacked. “Am I in your territory?” She asked, sounding a little worried though she tried to hide it. She hadn't even thought of checking for territory lines when she walked.
Glancing over her shoulder as she scented another helix, she spotted another male striding over to them and dig her nails into the ground, preparing to sprint if needed though she wouldn't be fast. The other male seemed confident and bold, but didn't seem threatening, nor did the Alpha. She couldn't risk it though and keep herself tense, readying to bolt if she needed to.

As Silas moved closer to the figure in the distance, his stride confident and a easy pace, he began to see who it was he was fast catching up on. The male was dark like Silas himself was, but with splashes of warmer colours which Silas lacked, no scars at all decorated him, though his expression alone was enough to assure Silas that he would be a tough fight.
Slowing his pace so it didn't seem like he was in a rush to greet the male, it wouldn't do to come on too aggressive or too friendly, as you never knew with other helixes. Especially fellow males. Taking in the defensive gesture, Silas knew already that the male was preparing for a fight but Silas had no interest in one. If he had to, he would walk away without a word if it stopped a fight, but he was curious.
“Greetings,” Silas called out when he was within hearing range, slowing to a stop until he was a respectable distance from him. He had no interest in crowding him or making him uncomfortable. This was Silas' holiday, he wasn't out to annoy people, unless they annoyed him first, of course.
