 Nelly sat atop a tree. It was rather windy and she was holding onto the tree for dear life. Eventually she climbed down the tree and decided to take a walk in the woods.

 Elijah was gathering some berries for his home. He tended to hang by himself since his only friend was a skunk. Normally others hated skunks so they wouldn't stick by him. The ringtail flicked his ears back and forth as he heard footsteps of some creature. He began to look around the area out of curiosity to see what it was.

Nelly was in such a good mood. Eventually she closed her eyes while picking up her pace that turned into a run through the woods. Unfortunately, she eventually crashed into Elijah and ended up butting heads with him. "Ow..." She bounced back while rubbing her head.

Elijah rubbed his head as well once Nelly hit his head. "Ow...watch it...I could off..." He opened his eyes to see another ringtail cat.

Nelly looked at Elijah a bit scared of the ringtail's sudden outburst. "I-I-I'm sorry...I-I..." She then burst out into tears crying up a storm.

Elijah blinked a bit surprised from Nelly's crying. "Hey.." he tapped her on the shoulder. "Forget about it ok? We're both still alive so there's nothing really to worry about." He sighed. Great. Just when he meets another one of his species he snaps and scares it away.

Nelly continued her crying. She was just so upset that she ran into him.

Elijah rolled his eyes, sighed, and shook his head. "Look...I said I was sorry for jumping to rash heights." He opened up his eyes while looking like he was begging. "Just please stop crying."

Nelly stopped her sniffling to look up at Elijah. "Really?" She sniffed once more. "Ok...I'm just sorry I was foolish to collide with you like that."

Elijah shook his head before handing out a paw to her to help her up. "Let's forget that ok? We started out on the wrong foot. My name is Elijah."

Nelly tried to smile. "O-ok...and thank you Elijah. My name is Nelly." She wiped her tears away. "you're not too bad of a ringtail cat."

Elijah smiled back at her as best as he could. It felt awkward, yet he liked her company. "You are too, but can you promise me next time you go on a run like that through the forest that you'll watch yourself and keep your eyes open? Ok?"

Elijah breathed a sigh of relief while smiling. "Alright...that's good. I better get back to work." And with that he turned back around and began to pick berries once again.

Nelly blinked a bit as she watched Elijah go back to berry picking. "Um...do you need any help? I wouldn't mind helping and you don't have to do anything for me. It's the least I could do for you."
