eikkyubi (3:32:38 PM): Ekundu yawned, standing to stretch her long limbs. She blinked, feeling the warmth of the small makeshift den that she had slept in of course. It wasn't there before, but somehow, it was there now. She must have fallen asleep and Bl'arza built it. She smiled. He really cared for her. She padded outside, the sun shining down on her face. She yawned. "Dududuh.." SHe said, fiddling with her pouch. She pulled out a small charm she kept for making herbal remedies when she felt sick. It was her stiring stick that she would use. She put it back in her pouch and blinked. Where was that silly male?
failureXstereo (3:38:02 PM): Bl'arza blinked up at the sun and changed directions, a tawny hare limp in his jaws. It was about the time he knew Ekundu would wake, and he didn't want her to wait long for something to eat. His step was quick, and it wasn't long until he could see the reddish lioness on the horizon. A smile curled on his face and he chuffed as he neared. His light blue eyes gleamed. How beautiful she looked in the morning light!
eikkyubi (3:39:18 PM): [[ I think I'm gonna plan on either making her go blind because of something that happens to her or something o wo ]]
eikkyubi (3:41:52 PM): Ekundu smiled as the rainbow printed lion approached and she could see that he'd been working. His eyes looked brilliant and his fur was gleaming. She smiled back at him. "Good Morning." She said, feeling her breath escape from her lungs. She stared up at him, being a smaller lion then he was, and blinked. She let herself get close to him, able to feel his breath and smiled. "Someone's been busy at work this morning, huh?"
failureXstereo (3:45:52 PM): Bl'arza dropped the hare for her with a grin. "Someone has to get work done while the lovely lady gets her rest." He replied. He pushed the hare close to her and bowed his head. "Eat, I'm sure you're hungry. I already had prey this morning." His chest heaved contently as he sat back and watched her. "How are you this morning?"
eikkyubi (3:49:25 PM): Ekundu blushed, because she wasn't used to be treated as such. "T-Thank you." She sat down, watching him slowly, before taking a nibble of the hare. "I'm fine. Just a little..." She sighed. "I'm curious. Why do you insist that your going to leave when we find a pride? I don't want you to leave."
failureXstereo (3:51:38 PM): Bl'arza started to grin at her comment, but quickly frowned. "Eku...."

He looked down at the ground and shook his head. He didn't want this conversation. He didn't want to see the hurt. "It's too dangerous for me to stay. You'll end up hurt. I don't want you hurt."

eikkyubi (3:54:38 PM): Ekundu smiled. "Just like a male to think about the females safety. Just promise me you won't leave. The time that we've spent together has made me think. I.. I think I've fallen in love with you, Bl'arza." She sighed. "You leaving.. It would kill me inside."
failureXstereo (3:58:14 PM): His face contorted. His heart skipped beats. He wanted to yell at her, tell her she was stupid to love him, but he WANTED her to love him. He wanted to stay with her, to keep her safe and happy. This was such a problem. How has an injured paw turned into such a heart-pulling event? "Eku.." He sighed, touching his nose to her forehead. What would he do?
eikkyubi (4:00:30 PM): Ekundu just smiled and shook her head. "I knew it was too good to be true." She said, standing up and turning around. "You don't need to keep coming with me anymore, Bl'arza. I'll find my own way." She took a pace forward. "Your paws healed, my hearts broke. My job here's done." She took off toward the ocean, needing to clear her head.

failureXstereo (4:03:02 PM): Bl'arza stood stock still for a moment, confused. What had he done? He recounted the short conversation and nearly raked his claws down his face at his stupidity. "Ekundu!" He called, getting to his paws and running after her. "Ekundu stop! I didn't mean that I didn't love you too!" His voice fought to carry toward her and he nearly choked on the salt air that thickened in his lung. "Ekundu please stop!
eikkyubi (4:05:40 PM): Ekundu tripped over a rock as she was running. She fell down, and hit a branch to her head. "Owch." She said, screaming with pain as she heard a paw twist and crack. She growled and whimpered, standing up,. trying to run, but collapsing under the weight on her foot. "Gosh Darn it."

Ekundu's eyes flared. "Do I look okay to you?" She snapped. She growled and tried to run off, but her paw kept her from running. "ugh.." She said, grimacing. "Why do you care? You were going to ditch me anyways." She gave Bl'Arza a spiteful look. "Just leave me alone. You don't understand me at all I guess. I took you in, gave you a home. I thought you were special. But apparently your not. Your nothing. Your a coward, who won't forget that your past is history. An insensitive jerk. That's what you are. You only care about yourself."

She snarled. "Don't touch me!' She glared at him.

eikkyubi (2:06:58 PM): Ekundu flared, her eyes getting wide. "Well then leave me now. It's not like you can benefit from being with me any longer." She looked at him, and stared as he took off. Her eyes filled with tears, and her heart broke. She couldn't believe that he was so afraid of his own brother. "Why did you have cubs with her? Just answer me that."
failureXstereo (2:11:26 PM): Bl'arza stayed silent for a long time, letting the turmoil inside wreak havoc for a while longer. When he responded, his voice was soft, breaking with his emotion. "She got in a fight with my brother. I was trying to soothe her and make things right, but she took it the wrong way and I got caught in the heat of the moment. It was a stupid mistake and I paid for it," he paused, then added, "I'm still paying for it. I can't stay near someone for too long. He'll find me again. He always finds me."

He finished splinting her paw, tying the rabbit hide around it tight with his teeth, before stepping back to examine his work. "I learn from the best," he said with an amused expression that failed to reach his eyes.
eikkyubi (2:18:50 PM): "Don't joke with me." She said, annoyed by his last comment. "You played me. You never told me. And then you were just going to off me on a pride and leave so your fur would be saved." She growled. "That's not the Bl'Arza I knew. Or I thought I knew. I guess it was all a game. A game that I didn't win. You know, some how, I thought you were different." She sighed, a tear leaking out. "I guess I was wrong."
failureXstereo (2:30:35 PM): Bl'arza repressed a growl. "I didn't expect to care for you so much. I thought I'd travel with you for a few days and then go my own way, and I wouldn't hurt anyone in the process, but now I've dragged you into this huge mess and I don't know how to keep you safe. What would happen if I stayed with you? Then my brother waltzes up and kills you, me, and anyone we happen to settle with? Is that what you want Ekundu? I certainly don't. I can't deal with my own death; I know it's coming. But I don't want to see you die too." He touched his nose to her cheek, then looked her in the eye.

"You're a beautiful lioness, and someone with a good past, and a good family, will sweep you off those pretty little paws, and you can have a big family with him. I want that for you Ekundu."
eikkyubi (2:34:01 PM): Ekundu falred. "I don't need protecting dammit!" She roared. "What I want is a family. A family to settle down with me. To just.. Just.. be there when I need them. YOU were that. YOU were everything. I love you. But now I'm not sure who or what I love. You've ruined it. I don't care if he kills me. If he does, then at least I know he's killed me for being smart about who I love. Then I won't die alone. I'll have someone by my side always. You know that I do love you, but I'm starting to distrust you. I don't want anyone else. Can't you see that? I only want you!" She whined, whimpered and cried even more.

failureXstereo (3:20:58 PM): He sighed. He didn't want to fight this any longer. Didn't want her to feel so abandoned. And no matter how often he told himself he couldn't be allowed to love her, he DID love her. Terribly so. And seeing her cry like this was tearing his weak heart apart.

He lowered his head and curled around her, resting his chin across her shoulders. "I'll stay Ekundu. I told you I would before.. and if you really still want me to, then I will now. I don't think I'm the perfect lion for you, Eku, but I do love you too." He licked her shoulder gently, feebly. There was nothing else he could do.

eikkyubi (6:35:26 PM): Ekundu sighed. "Your promise?" She said, hopeful and happy that he said he'd stay. She looked at him, hope gleaming in her eyes, and she smiled, for the first time in a while.
failureXstereo (6:37:16 PM): He frowned and nodded. "But you have to promise that you understand that if my brother does find me, I need to leave. I can't let him hurt those around me." He nuzzled her neck and closed his eyes. "We'll find a pride and stay there. One with a lot of protection for you."
eikkyubi (6:38:04 PM): Ekundu nodded. "..Okay." She pawed his foot, snuggling into his chest, purring. "And thank you."

failureXstereo (6:39:53 PM): Bl'arza let a small smile touch his lips. "Don't thank me. It's a blessing to be around you." With that he began to purr. "You need to sleep. You broke your foot and it'll take a lot of energy to heal." He hummed in her ear gently to lul her to sleep. He'd make a shelter around her once she was soundly slumbering.
eikkyubi (6:41:27 PM): Ekundu wouldn't argue with that. A stiff yawn was all she released before circling around in a circle, and plopping down. It had been a long day, and after crying, she'd lost all her energy. Within four minutes, she was passed out. She wasn't snoring, but she dreamt. She smiled, and shifted paws, to put weight on her non hurt one.
failureXstereo (6:43:21 PM): Bl'arza smiled, nuzzling her once more, and gently moved himself away from her. He needed to gather things for her shelter, and needed time to accept what he'd promised.
