It was a good thing that Uuni had moved very recently from Ista Weyr, because transferring things from one place to another was a great deal tiresome. Things always seemed to get lost on the way.
Despite this, she seemed to have, somehow, accumulated quite a lot of s**t. Groaning at the amount of work she'd have to do, she kicked a dirty skirt across the floor to join the evergrowing pile of clothes that needed to be washed.
It wasn't very distanced from the pile of clean clothes which needed to be at least properly folded before she moved them over. Her cot had a semblance of rumpled furs, and a pile of things. Little trinkets, some things she'd gotten from other people, brushes, and a wide variety of items that didn't really need names but existed in any case.
Makereth had taken to the pile of dirty clothes and had hidden himself under them where no one would be able to see.
Uuni was ignoring him for now, knowing he was probably as bored with this whole ordeal as she was. Unfortunately, he was a lot harder to convince to do work. But she'd get him carrying something somehow sooner or later. She certainly wasn't lugging all this stuff over by herself!

"Hey," A slight rap on the door alerted Uuni to the presence of Avery, hip resting against the frame, hazel eyes moving from the girl quickly to scour the room with her discerning eye. In her arms was a small pile of folded, clean clothing.
Expression neutral, she hesitated only a moment before entering the room and placing the clothing on the bunk. It was clearly Uuni's, that Avery had taken the time to wash before returning, as she presumed the young woman hadn't much clean clothing available. "I figured all of yours were dirty." And that simply wouldn't do for a Weyrling, was the implication.
Gaze running around the room again, they fell on a rather large, misshapen pile of clothing. Odd. Then again, where was her dragon? He was only a baby, so he should've been here. It quickly became clear to Avery, but she made no comment.

Uuni looked back over her shoulder, the annoyance at her clothes still clear on her face. Who should it be but Avery. Of course.
"You washed my clothes?" If Avery hadn't already touched them before, she might have made more of a big deal about it. But there a lot of them were, folded and neat and so clean and odd looking. Had she put tallies on her clothes, she might have noticed some where missing. Well, oh well. Now they weren't.
And that misshapen pile of clothing wriggled as it heard Avery's voice. Not knowing whether it was being looked at or not, and hoping it wasn't, the pile was suddenly put into action as Makereth took to running with a squawk in Avery's direction.
He flung aside a shirt over his head with a quick motion, revealing himself as he jumped up and planted his front feet on her stomach.
Had he surprised her?! He had, right?
Uuni let out a light chuckle at the action, her teeth showing white between her lips. "Makereth says hi."

"Yeah, I figured--"
It was only years of handling animals, as well as her previous suspicion of the pile that stopped Avery from kicking the dragonet in the face as he ran at her. Animals usually made more aggressive sounds before attack, and so while she was on guard at the sudden launch [not knowing Makereth's personality], she quickly settled, an 'oomf!' coming from her as he pressed on her middle.
Despite any anger or hurt she felt over the hatching, the curly-haired brunette was still, at heart, an animal lover; dragons included. Still, he was pretty heavy. Reaching for his forepaws, she lifted and dropped them, automatically correcting his improper action in a way that showed she was too used to training. Still, her hands found his jaw and she began to rub, eyes running over him.
"Hello, there, Makereth, you handsome fellow. Aren't you sneaky?" She couldn't help a grin as she looked over at Uuni. "Good luck with him."

Makereth seemed content to be 'trained' once he knew that Avery had, yes, been surprised. On top of that, she was very pleased with him. Uuni was watching him, Avery was watching him, and even the firelizard had lifted his head to look in his direction. Life was how it should be.
He was not sneaky! He was fun. Although he supposed he could like the word 'sneaky' as well if it went with fun.
He lifted up his jaw and took his attention in stride, turning his head here and there when she found a particularly itchy spot. There were bound to be some, as he was already growing. And there, Avery was smiling! Makereth felt overly successful.
"Hah," Uuni said with a dismissive snort, grabbing the pile she thought was clean and folding some up. "He reminds me of you half the time."
She tossed some dirty clothes after the both of them. "Desperate for attention and out of control." It would describe the three of them, to be quite truthful. But there wasn't nothing wrong with it, and only smiles were given to Avery as she pampered the blue.
"Let's go," she said to Avery as picked up what was left of the dirty pile - including what Makereth had tossed aside. "Bring that hellion and those clothes with you." Time to go wash things. Ew.

Avery tossed Uuni a look at the girl's 'witty' commentary, she picked up the clothing she'd set down only moments prior, shooting a barb she knew might irritate the brunette's way. "Yes, well, everything reminds people of that special someone when they're in love, you know." She enjoyed putting a stress on the 'l-word' that Uuni so loathed, about to continue when a shriek tore the air and a firelizard appeared from Between.
The bright green creature's eyes were a yellow that quickly went to an orangey-red at the sight of Makereth, and the little creature chattered at him angrily, flying near his head aggressively before landing on Avery's shoulder. Rubbing her little head affectionately against the young woman's jaw, she chittered at her, as if informing her of the irritating creature in the room.
Rolling her eyes, Avery obliged the contact for only a moment before pushing the firelizard away, tone more vaguely annoyed than surprised. "Sparta, cut it out, you silly beastie." Frowning at the flitt, she lowered her voice, causing the critter to whirr almost pleadingly.
"Goooo. No, Sparta, go away!" With one last, irritated chirp, the green disappeared. It was another moment before Avery shot Uuni a grin. "Sorry about that. My brother gave me her egg right after... Right after the hatching."
Avoiding that subject, she turned and started out into the hallway. "Let's get a move on, shall we?"

Uuni was looking rather smug over her witty comment up until the point when Avery threw her off guard. She rolled her eyes and rolled up her ball of dirty clothes a little tighter.
What does she mean, special someone? Aren't I your special someone?. Uuni almost choked on her own saliva, instead laughing out loud.
The firelizard came careening through. And she responded to Makereth in her mind as Avery continued. Not quite. Special someone is a bit different than 'other half of being'. Both terms amused her, but left Makereth rather confused.
Not confused enough to be overjoyed at the sight of a lizard, angry or no. He watched it, a grin heavy on his features.
"Looks like Avery already has her special someone," Uuni said aloud on purpose with a eyebrow raise to Avery. She nudged the girl in the side as she made her way by and towards the place to clean clothes.
"Wait until I tell Kesslan you've fallen for a firelizard." Annoying little creatures they were. "Have you seen her, yet? Kesslan, I mean. I know she mentioned seeing you, but. . ."
Makereth was trotting along at her heels, his eyes wandering the halls, and Uuni kept getting the feeling that at any moment he would spark a very brilliant idea.

"Well, if she's seen me, I've clearly seen her, haven't I? Despite your hang-ups about her emotional honesty, Kesslan isn't a stalker of some sorts, staring at me from afar." Avery sniffed, tossing her hair haughtily as she completely disregarded Uuni's commentary on Sparta.
Instead, she simply shifted aside for Uuni, smiling just slightly at the physical contact before following the shorter woman toward the washing area. "I hope you enjoy the increase in roommates you're about to suffer."
Of both the human and draconic variety. Faranth knew that the last clutch had held an interesting combination of personalities. "I have to say, love, that is the first time I've ever seen you wash your own clothing."

Uuni looked back over her shoulder and raised a brow, grinning the whole while at the idea of Kesslan watching Avery from afar.
"Oh, well, that's just for the men, then," she piped off cheerily, catching a piece of clothing with her foot that had fallen. She kicked it off and it landed expertly on Makereth's head.
"Carry that," she commanded, but Makereth didn't seem to mind. It was all in good fun, and Uuni wouldn't turn him into a pack animal. Well, not too much.
"I'm sure all my roommates will be just fine!" Uuni defended, her voice going suddenly bitter. "There were plenty of nice dragons in that clutch." The last blue just wasn't one of them, and neither was that gold.
"Certainly they won't be invading my space at awful hours of the night looking for favours," she shot Avery a look, though the smile that peeled over her lips showed she hadn't minded in the slightest. They'd since arrived in the room of choice and Uuni dumped the load on the floor.
"Besides, I've got Makereth," she added with a yawn as she picked at her clothes and grimaced.
"Don't hold your breath," she added. "I haven't started yet." It was really too bad she couldn't pay someone else to do it. . .
"Hey Avery, you feel like washing some clothes for a trade?"
