That depends on genre.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is what I'm re-watching right now, because it's to me what Takeuchi should have done to Sailor Moon.
My all-time favorites, though:
- Sailor Moon. Original anime only - the dub and PGSM are just... talk2hand
- Appleseed and Appleseed Ex Machina
- Armitage III and Armitage III Dual Matrix
- Rurouni Kenshin
- Captain Tsubasa
- Digimon - Series 1 and 3. 2 and 4 were crap, 5 was too "OMG LOLZ THAT GUY BEATS DIGIMON BAREHANDED!"
- Card Captor Sakura - the anime, not the manga. And certainly not the travesty they call a dub in English-speaking countries.
- B't X - The show that shows that you don't need to have giant robots, you can make a good show with robots which still has the humans do most of the interesting fighting scenes themselves (Y hallo there Gundam your-name-here.)
- Ghost Sweeper Mikami. Both anime and manga. It's what Buffy wants to be when she grows up.
- Doubt - Psychological/horror/mystery manga. It's something the Hollywood 'horror' movie makers should read. Maybe that way they'll learn to make an intelligent horror movie for a change.
