My parents were in florida to visit my grandmother, and people were asking my mother about something very... very strange.
The news down there stated that Canada has some sort of "Death Panel" that looks at two people with the same disease and decides who lives and who dies. My mother was absolutely dumbfounded by not only the fact that something like this was on the news, but the fact that people were actually believing it.
Has anyone else seen any weird stuff like this? It's mostly on Fox and CNN (the same people who talked about the child molesters using pictochat to target kids and find information about them). I just want to clarify that NO, there is no 'death panel' and it's just there to invoke fear. My mother, from Fort Pierce, Florida, ended up coming to Canada to get the same epilepsy medication for much cheaper. My father's friend had a heart attack and was taken in for surgery, had a stint placed in his artery and ended back up in a local hospital in less than 24 hours. Our system isn't as bad as they're claiming. Whoever needs the treatment first gets it first. So before you believe what you hear in the news, do some decent research first.
Sorry, this kind of became a rant. Care to discuss any other weird things they're saying in the news about the the healthcare system?

Oh heath care is fine. I'm more wooried about the coast of health insurance.

My dad has a bad hip, really bad. Can't work no more bad. Well he took medical leave, and whent in to get it don. He needs to go to the dentus to get his teeth checked for gum desise. so he does and they have him come in 4 times over the course of several months and then tell him he needs to have two teeth removed. before he can get the hip replacement. So, even if he did get them removed, guesse what, his health insurance expiers, the one he's been paying into for almost 20 years. so he can't get the replacment. and he can't go back to work on it. and it's never going to get better with out hte hip replacement he can't aford, and even if he got it he can't go back to the job because it puts strain on the hip.
