Is it wrong of me to be happy that Christmas is geting blasted by the PR department of the US Government and Education Boards? We all but lost Halloween to the schools, publically because a few hundred Wiccans complained about the costumes kids wore (Really now, would anyone but fluffs seriously complain in mass droves to the media that it upset them when kids wore hag masks? stare ), but Christians were all for it because religiously, they don't like the holiday to begin with. Now the government is messing with their holiday and they throw a huge fit?

They came for the blacks, and I did not speak, for I was not black...
They came for the Jews, and I did not speak, for I was not a Jew...
They came for the heretics, and I did not speak, for I was not a heretic...
They came for the Muslims, and I did not speak, for I was not a Muslim...
They came for the gays, and I did not speak, for I was not gay...

So no one was left to speak when they finally came for me.

Paraphrasing with some modern tinges added to it, but the point is conveyed.

And yes, I'm aware that some of the power behind 'stopping Halloween' was to stop the candy hand outs people were doing in classes. They could have stopped that without taking away the Halloween Dance or the allowance to wear costumes as long as the costume wasn't easy to conceal a weapon in.

Personally... I like this whole "Chrismahanakwanzadan" idea. (yes, the original one ends in kah, but that leaves Ramadan out) Too bad it'd be hard to slip 'Yule' in to that and still make it catchy.

"Chrismayulehanakwanzadan" I like that quote you had, in the italics. If you can direct me to the original, then I'll be SO happy. And you are not wrong. It's not smart of them to try and get rid of Halloween. I had a principal in eighth grade who banned Halloween costumes. NOONE was pleased. I personally have no problem with them blasting Christmas the same way they blasted Halloween. (Did someone shoot those fluffs, BTW?) People still went trick-or-treating, put on costumes, went to parties, performed their rituals, etc. If Christmas gets blasted out of school, noone will be pleased about missing the party at school, but people will still have trees and menorahs, give out presents, go to outside parties, etc. I do't like the idea of Christmas getting blasted out, but they didn't speak for us, and now there's noone to speak for them, like the thing said.

I think I heard them say "And Pagans, too!" at the end last year but it could've been my imagination..
