She stood several feet from the male who'd put her through the paces, chest rising and falling with each puff of breath that she forced out to form steam in the air. Her eyes were dark as she watched him, waiting to see if he'd make another move, or if they were finished for now. She knew that her body could use a rest, but if he wasn't going to back down then she wouldn't either, stubborn female that she was.

His muscles were just beginning to ache from a good workout as he paused. He knew too much more would be less of a workout and more of a strain on both of them. He knew Kibi wouldn't stop until he did and would run herself raw again if it meant she didn't back down.
Shifting his weight slightly he sat back in the snow while his breath fogged in front of him. He was still watching her in case she decided to take advantage of the situation but relaxed as much as he usually did.

Putting more trust in him than she knew she should be giving to any opponent, she closed her eyes, lowering her head for a moment when she saw him sit down. A few more puffs of air breezed past her lips before she pushed herself back up so that she could eye him. There were things that she was starting to notice about Mpasuko now that she hadn't noticed before; things that could be downright dangerous if they were permitted to interfere with daily life. Temptations.
She made her way towards him slowly, wanting to make certain that he wasn't viewing her movements as another attack. Pausing a few steps from him she smirked softly, eyes holding an appreciative look. "We should do that more often."

He watched her get up and come towards him but could tell from her body language that she meant no harm to him. She was probably just as tired as he was and he doubted she was going to try to take another swing at him.
"Mm ... we should." He wouldn't mind a good workout every now and then. He also had to admit, at least to himself, that he enjoyed watching her move.

"It might do both of us some good. You get to learn how to deal with someone a bit smaller and faster... And I get the pleasure of learning a lesson or two about dealing with a big brute." She grinned, the word 'brute' said in an almost endearing manner.
"We make a good match, you know." Her eyes lifted so that they could meet his, watching for a reaction to her words.

"Not often someone smaller and faster wants to deal with a big brute. One good hit to the head and being small and fast looses it's advantage." He smirked slightly. Most of the other slighter framed pride members that he had spared with usually made the mistake of getting their heads in the reach of his paws.
He watched her for a moment as she looked up at him. "We do. Put the two of us together and the scales balance in the center."

"Working out here we don't often get a choice as to what we deal with. Intruders can be small and speedy or they can be big and burly... No matter what, if I want to do my job I have to be prepared." Her body tensed for a moment, eyes darkening slightly as she gazed past him.
"If I learn from you I can defend against others."
She remained distant for a moment before her stance softened again, paws moving so that she could take a step closer to him. "Two warriors, strong in spirit and body; a good match like this really shouldn't be passed up."

"No." He nodded slightly. "But being prepared does not mean just being able to take down any opponent. There are often ways to make them turn aside that to not involve the pointless tiring of muscles that might be needed later"
He shifted his stance slightly so that he wasn't towering over her as much as he usually could. "Matches like that usually aren't passed up ... they're usually far too satisfying."

"Our minds are as much of a weapon as our bodies." She nodded slowly, letting her eyes close as her body shifted along with the topic, head resting on Mpasuko's thick, silver mane. "I think a match between us could be very satisfying... If you're up for the challenge."

"Have i ever turned down a challenge from you?" He smirked slightly as she rested her head against him. They always turn out very satisfying and ... pleasing in the end."

At that she laughed, the sound warm and strange in the clearing used to seeing so much cold. "You're a horrible liar, Mpasuko... But I like that about you. It means I always know when you're telling the truth." A soft smirk slid over her muzzle in place of her smile as she pulled away from him. "I doubt that challenges I've made have always been satisfying or pleasing, but I can at least say that I'll try to make them so from here on out. Until then..." She turned away from him, glancing back over her shoulder for a brief moment before moving forward, voice teasing. "Get back to work."
