Pageantry and Infantry

If I will only end up in my same old room again
Might as well pick up my old habits
If I will only end up in my same old words again
Might as well pick up my old rabbits
And pretend to be cute while you

Stare at me now, will you stare at me now?
That you see who I am and see past the glamour of
Pageantry and infantry
Am I only what I pretend to be?

If I will only end upside-down in my head again
Might as well do so thoroughly
If I will only end up like that same old me again
Might as well do so creatively
And ease up the pretend while you

Look away now, will you look away now
That you see how I am and see past the glamour of
Pageantry and infantry
Am I only pretending when you see?

And if you stop, will I change
And un-pretend to be entirely
Something that’s never been seen?
If you stop, will I change
And begin to be a stifled me
Something under fears, chains?
