I don't think this would have happened if Jerry was still alive.
Phil is on record saying that he was against the ban from the getgo, and that he didn't really know that anyone else in the band objected to free downloads. Phil rules. Dank you Phil, you are the voice of sanity.
I suspect iTunes charges money for Grateful Dead downloads. I wouldn't know, because I have nothing to do with iTunes (except for streaming roots reggae on my boss's mac). If I pay for music, it better have some cover art and interesting liner notes.
What else do I want to say? Oh yeah, bands that don't have a tape-trading fanbase usually suck.
