we played a peice called the temple of kai uka. it started off with eveyone playing one note as loud as they possibly could including the gong. our director told the audience it was about a nice soft meadow in hawaii when it was really about the hawaiien end of the world. when we started out i looked up and about 5 people had fallen off the bleachers!!

Last year we played Chant and Jubilo for our concert by Francis MacBeth. To introduce it, he had one of the students come up in an old white wig and hobble up and say in a high and weird voice, "Chant and Jubilo by Francis MacBeth will be performed next. This lovely *cough* song starts out slowly yadda yadda yadda. THen she sat down and we started playing. I could hear my mother laughing for most of the Chant Part. The yadda part was actually said.

We French Horns did this funny thing at summer band camp (where we have section shows) where we sang a song. It kinda went like:
If I were not a French Horn I wonder what I'd be, If I were not a French Horn.... and you insert what you'd be there. My line was...A CHEERLEADER I WOULD BE! Cheer cheer fight fight gee I hope I look alright! And all the french horns sang their parts (that had different words and rhythms together and it sounded so cool!) It's on youtube if you type in North Crowley High School French Horns!!! ^-^

Our mellophone player pulled the fire alarm at midnight at band camp because he thought it was a light switch. His only excuse is that it was dark...
