Etain was on her way back from searching, though no sign of her father had been found she was hoping that her siblings had better luck and so had winged her way back towards their agreed upon meeting place.

The trip was long however and so she had stopped over alongside a small pond to rest and eat a bit before continuing, shaking her golden mane she lowered her head to the waiting pool and took a deep drink, closing her eyes slightly in bliss...so refreshing after a long swift journey.

At the side of a small pond lay a young white mare of mixed breeding. She had been resting from her long journey from Quirne and the pond had been a nice spot to stop and rest. She had been able to drink the cool flowing water and snack on the green grass. Sometime after her quick meal, she had fallen into a light sleep. When she awoke the sun was farther across the sky. She wasn't sure how long she had slept but it had definitely been refreshing and she had needed it more than she had thought.

Looking back at the sky she knew she wouldn't have too much light left if she didn't get moving again. Then again she wasn't entirely sure where she was going. Perhaps she would look for more of her family? It had seemed ages since she had seem them. Maybe she could check in on Cassius or her parents. Well, it was a thought. She didn't have any other ideas as to what to do just yet. Where would she find them though? Perhaps she should check D'ob just a little more to be sure none of them were here.

Slowly Esterlina stood up, stretched out a little, and then had a good shake. Surveying the area she spotted a Jala mare not too far away. When had she shown up? Perhaps she was nice? A little socialization couldn't hurt. Unless she was like Eacles, then it could get a little unpleasant. Then again she did look like a reverse Udi. He had definitely been nice.

Carefully Lina began to approach the other mare.

Etain had settled into a relaxed pose as she rested by the water, one hind hoof resting gently on its tip and wings slightly drooped as they tried to recover from the fast pace she had pushed on the trip here.

It wasn't until the other mare was quite close that Etain - lost in her thoughts - noticed her approach, Turning her head to look upon her Etain was slightly amused to see the mare was all one color with just one uncooperative mane of hair - much like herself! except hers obviously was tail.

"oh! Hello there..I hope I didn't disturb you"

Esterlina shook her head in response. "Of course not." She replied. "I was just about to be heading out anyway when I spotted you. I was reminded of someone I met in Quirne earlier and I was intrigued."

The mare stopped then. She wasn't entirely sure why she had just told this Jala about Udi, but she had felt compelled to. Perhaps she just needed to confide in someone else or find a friend. Yes a friend would be nice.

Finding that she was still a little hungry she bent to snack on the grass once more. As usual it tasted like, well, grass. There were a few different flavors. Sometimes it was sweet, dry, bitter, or even salty. This particular patch had some good moisture due to the pond but wasn't anything spectacular.

Once she swallowed she turned back to the Jala mare. "Goodness! Forgive me for not introducing myself. I'm Esterlina. Though I prefer Lina. It's much shorter and sounds a bit better I think."

Etain pricked her ears slightly as the mare remarked she reminded her of another she'd spoken to lately. She had two siblings currently in that area..but she couldn't help the quick surge of hope that filled her - she did after all bear a goody resemblance to the father she was still looking for, being mostly of his golden hue.

"Oh? How so?" She questioned politely, hoping that the mare would if nothing else give a description of the creature she was thinking of. "I have quite a few family members who look similar" she continued with a slight chuckle, bobbing her head in greeting at the introduction. "Pleased to meet you Lina, I'm Etain"

Esterlina couldn't help but notice the excitement that seemed to fill the mare when she had mentioned running into Udi. She dearly hoped that this mare was looking for the purple Jala with the golden tail. She really didn't want to have to disappoint the golden mare.

"Well," She started. "I was making my way through the brush trying to get to the beach of Quirne when I ran into a Jala Stallion. I remember him well. He had had a purple hide with just a golden tail. Practically reverse of yourself. Although he didn't have those nice face markings that you have. I do believe his name is Udi. Do you know him? He had mentioned something about looking for his father but it didn't appear that he had very much luck with that. I just do hope he finds him. He was very nice to me. Not like the other stallion I ran into. Oh goodness! I'm rambling now aren't I?"

The white mare stood a moment and studied the other. She waited for a response from the Jala and hoped that she had brought some rather good news.

Etain sighed slightly as Esterlina described the Nequus she had come across, of course she'd expected an answer something like that it was still disheartening to know that Udi had had no luck in finding Diego either - well at least before talking to this mare, perhaps he had found him afterwards - there was still hope though it was somewhat slim she had to admit. she smiled slightly in order to try and hide her disappointment.

"Ah yes...Udi is my brother we always used to joke as foals that someone had mixed up our tails somewhere along the way, I'm actually resting on my way to meet with him and my sister" she responded after a few moments "Maybe Aquila - my sister - has had more luck in finding Diego...the only creature I ran across lied and sent me on a wild goose chase"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 10:35 pm

Lina inwardly sighed a little. The news hadn't been recieved as well as she would have liked but at least she had been able to offer the golden mare some sort of update on her family. So this was Udi's sister then? She could definitely see where some freak part of genetics had swapped their tails. They both had been nice to her too.

"I hope she has. I just remember Udi being rather concerned. To be honest I hadn't even been sure he was real. It had seemed rather like he had just appeared. But at least now I know I'm sane." She smiled a little as she said that.

For a while she really had been worried. She had been on her own for quite so long it had seemed quite plausible for her mind to have created some sort of encounter with someone. Well, at least with the issue of her sanity being clear she could get back to more normal worries.

"A wild goose chase? I'm sorry to hear that. I ran into a rather nasty Reya myself. He tried to torture a poor crab! I mean I know they're small and there are plenty of them but they can't exactly fend for themselves and I couldn't stand back and just watch him hurt any sort of creature. I do suppose I was lucky he was more of a coward than he had seemed." There she was rambling again. Her social skills were most definitely lacking. Now she could only hope the rambling would stop with time.

"Quite sane" Etain assured the mare "At least as far as I can tell" she added with a slight smile - afterall she had just met her. "Udi has a habit of doing that" she concluded recalling the way he had simply appeared in the Valley when she had been thinking of catching up with her family.

Etain too hoped that Aquila had had some better luck in searching, but that seemed like a rather worrisome topic to harp on with someone she had just met - Etain had never liked Nequus who poured their souls out to everyone they met right off the bat, so she merely mentioned a thank you for her well wishing and then moved on to the topic of the troublesome Reya.

"Really? Must be something in the water they've been drinking" She remarked in a wry voice thinking it rather coincidental that they had both come across Reya with ill morals "the one I met told me he'd heard a rumor about a golden Jala dead in the bottom of a ravine. Turned out to be a complete lie, I think once this is all over I will go and look for that Reya..teach him a thing or too..."

Lina felt sorrow for the Jala mare. The shock and sadness that the mare must have felt when the Reya had told her of the golden Jala dead in the bottom of the ravine. The mare probably would have thought it to be her father and Lina couldn't even imagine what that would feel like. On a brighter note at least the creature had lied and her father hadn't been dead. Then again the possibility was still there. The mare figured it was probably better to keep that one to herself.

"I'm sure both of them could use a good lesson, but I'm not going to waste my time going after that disgusting creature. He was too much of a coward to put up any sort of fight and doesn't deserve my attention. I wonder where the two came from. Perhaps they are simply related and it happens to be bad blood."

The poor mare, not being very bright, just hoped it wasn't really the water. Who knew if she had inadvertently drank any of it. Oh goodness! What if it came from this pond? She didn't want to start torturing poor harmless creatures! With her eyes wide from fright, Lina bent to examine the water closely. It appeared to be okay. She didn't see any foreign substances.

"Well, this water looks clear enough." She said with relief.

Etain snorted slightly in memory of the Reya, it seemed Lina was a tad more forgiving that she was - Etain was certainly willing to put off revenge on the Reya for the time being - far more important matters were at stake right now - but eventually when time allowed, that Reya would learn his lesson.

She was somewhat preoccupied with this thought and didn't notice the mare's worry until she moved to inspect the water - and then Etain was rather sorry for her choice of words - it was just a figure of speech but it seemed this mare was unfamiliar with it. "Oh..I didn't mean to worry you" Etain assured her after a few moments "I'm sure all the water is quite fine, its just a figure of speech I say sometimes" She explained.

"Your probably right - they are most likely related that sort of nastiness does tend to run in families I've noticed, the Reya I met was yellow with strange swirly brown markings all over him"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 12, 2009 1:11 pm

Lina felt her cheeks get hot as the mare explained what she had really meant to her. A figure of speech? Well it had seemed a plausible enough idea to her, and one could really never be too careful. She still wasn't entirely sure how long it would take before she would stop checking the water before she began to drink.

The white mare was pondering over this when the Etain mentioned the gold and brown swirled Reya. At her words Lina immediately lifted her head, the possibility of contaminated water forgotten.

"Yellow and brown you say?" Hadn't the Reya she run into been yellow? Yes, yes he had. He had also had strange swirled markings. It was indeed possible that the two were related, but it sounded now that they were most likely the same creature. "The Reya I ran into in Quirne was Yellow with brown swirls. Do you think they're the same one? Or they could be twins, or possibly just siblings I mean I look a lot like my siblings."

Etain considered this possibility for a few moments - it did seem like rather a strange coincidence that she would run into a mare who had run into a very similar nasty tempered Reya.

"I rather hope it was the same one" She finally remarked dryly "It would be irritating to think there might be two such foul tempered, lowly moralled creatures running about" She concluded with a slight toss of her head "I can't quite recall his name, a red Canis told me who he was..stated with an E I think" She flipped her tail as though shrugging the lack of name off as a minor irritant...she would know the creature if she ever ran across him again - she was sure of it.

Lina nodded to the other mare. Having one Eacles was bad enough. The possibility of two... well that didn't sound appealing to Lina at all. If the Jala mare still wanted to go after the Reya Stallion she would not object. He did deserve whatever she would have for him. The white mare was irritated by the thought of even being near him again. The stallion definitely wasn't worth her time in chasing after him. She was brave, and maybe not particularly bright, but she wasn't exactly looking for trouble either.

Once again the silence started to annoy her. She had talked for a while but she was becoming quite irritable again. Just thinking about the Reya had destroyed her once happy mood. She wasn't particularly angry, but she wasn't exactly pleased either. Well it did sound as if the Jala mare was busy, perhaps the two of them ought to be getting on their way? The chat had been nice but she should probably go back to looking for her family. It had been a while since she had seen them.

"I really do hope there aren't two of them." She agreed. "But I think I should probably be going soon. It looks like there isn't too much light left and I'll need to find somewhere to rest for the night or get going." She hadn't yet decided what she was doing. She'd probably just fly through part of the night. She had already rested today.

Etain bobbed her head slightly and stretched out her wings as she eyed the amount of light left in the day - Lina was right, it was growing late and she still had a ways to go if she wanted to make the meeting on time.

"Yes...I expect I should be on my way as well, Don't want to keep Udi and Aquila waiting any longer then necessary" she commented after a few moments of thought "But it was nice to meet you and I do wish you good luck in your travels - heres hoping neither of us have any more nasty Reya encounters" she joked before bidding the mare good-bye and heading off into the skies.
