Ugh, if there was one thing a youth could admit to himself and the world, it was the fact of being immensely bored. Especially now, when the sky turned dark and mothers expected their babes to rest for the night. But Li'annam was anything but sleepy. Golden ear tips twitched and his shaggy tail flapped over his paws anxiously. How much longer was he to pretend being asleep like this, curled lazily with his eyes squeezed tight? Every now and then the boy would risk a peek to see if his little group of kin was fully asleep.
It took quite a few winks before his wish was granted, and all his siblings and mother were resting. Grinning to himself, the scaled male rose silently to his paws and tiptoed his way through the mass of coiled bodies to reach the outer savannah. Success! Lia' did his best to withhold his chuckles as he stretched out his restless limbs. Now, what should he do with all this spare time and freedom? Glancing around and squinting against the dark, the young lion decided a refreshment was in need. And the nearest waterhole wasn't too far off; a safe location within this friendly pride. Wide awake and energized, the male trotted off to the said water with a tune being hummed cheerily.

Even if she wanted too, the dark lioness couldn't sleep. Something about the night and the dangers it could hold sang to her in her blood. It made her vibrate right down to her claws, which were itching to dig into something new besides dirt or grass. Maybe a rock? Khahlela didn't know what else was out there, besides that one jerk who she fought tooth and nail with.
Maybe that's what she was craving; some kind of fight. Slinking through the dark, her purple eyes scanned the area, having already been well adjusted to the night. It was part of the reason she slept most of the day; to be up most of the night. Perfect plan right? Finally, her eyes caught some sort of movement that sent her crouching down into the tall grasses. She inched closer to the moving figure, wanting to know, but bidding her time. Something exciting was about to happen, she could feel it. What it was, however, she really didn't know.
Colors caught her attention on the moving figure. Some very bright ones. Even her siblings didn't have that much color on them. It made her even more curious about this... figure. Finally, she heard a cheerful hum coming from it. Peeking up, she blinked a few times and cocked a brow. Who hummed at night? Intrigued again, she got up completely and shook herself free of grass and trotted towards the other. From the scent that hit her, it was male. But if it was a lion, leopard or cheetah, she knew not. Not yet. She kinda recognized the shape. He looked kinda like her twin brother; the size and everything. So maybe it was a lion.
No way to know unless they talked! "Hello?" she called out, her voice sounding lower than a female her ages', but still female. "Hey, hey you! What are you? Lion? Leopard? Or are you a cheetah?" A playful growl was mixed into it. Maybe she could pick on the bright one and start a fight or something. Something she could actually win, unlike against the other jerk.

It took no time at all for the male to reach the water, the moon shining upon it's smooth surface like glass. Lia' almost hesitated, thinking any disturbance to the tranquil scene would cause for his discovery and punishment. But he'd already gone so far and he had no intentions of being whisked back to the den just yet. Bending his neck, the lion reached down and lapped at the cool liquid gratefully.
However, his paranoia to his escaped freedom made his senses on high alert. And every now and then the male could swear he heard grass being crimped behind him. Still crouched, Lia' turned his eyes to scan his unguarded back for any others awake. It was only when he heard a voice that his eyes focused on the source. A shifting blur in that almost blended in the night, save for the eyes and white markings. A quick sniff and glimpse let him know this was another feline, a girl, and apparently still young if size meant anything.
Moving fast, Lia' slinked from his position to rush to the others face, placing his paw against his own mouth. "Shhh. Do you want us to get caught?" He sighed before sitting down, realizing his sudden reaction may have startled or annoyed the other. "And I'm a lion, of course. Why would you ask? Or more importantly, just who are you?"
He may have been a young boy, but his ears pinned back slightly all the same. No need for dangerous trespassers in their pride, after all.

Lela nearly laughed when he said he was a lion, but the other didn't sound too happy. Moving closer to him, her head tilted to the side at his questions, and her own ears pinned back. Was she not supposed to be here? Was this a pride border her mom tried to warn her about? With a mental sigh, she gave the other a smile that would probably only be seen as a flash of white in the night. "Khahlela. I escaped from my mom for the night." She nodded with her words, as if trying to convince him that she meant no harm.
"Who're you? Why are you out here if you're so afraid?" A curious question that could be considered her calling him out for being a chicken. With a grin firmly on place, Lela's tail flicked a bit. "Don't you have any sense of adventure?"

"Khahlela." Well, that was no pride name that he knew of. His brows lifted as the girl mentioned her agenda so openly. How odd, well probably not, to find another young lion roaming about at night. It made a chuckle rise from his lungs, and he shook his head with it's pale mane. "If I didn't know better I'd think you were copying me!"
With a sway of his tail in the grass, the lion decided to answer back in a low voice. "The name's Li'annam, or just Li'a." Wait what? Ears pinned and the moonshine faintly revealed a bothered pout on the male. "Who said I was afraid? Not my fault there are large predators to be aware of." And he gave a firm nod to his explanation.
"Sooo, if I didn't have any sense of adventure, I wouldn't be out here then hm?" Flicking his tail, Li'a continued his way to the water with a grin.

Yeah right, not afraid? Then she blinked at his name and nearly went cross eyed. What? How the hell could she remember that? Stupid name, she thought to herself, rolling her eyes and shaking her head. "I'm not copying you, either. I was here first. So .....Yeah." What the rest of her sentence was, that was up to anyone.
"You could be out here without a sense of adventure, maybe on a dare?" She grinned darkly and then chuckled. "Maybe you're just a wuss who was dared to do this by his litter mates. Being out all alone!" She let out a growl and wiggled her bum, as if she'd attack him or something. Really, Lela was an odd tomboy. She wanted to wrestle all the time.
"I'm calling You Li. ....Just... Li. 'cause the other one is harder to pronoune."

The male snuffed and only shrugged at the other. Someone was quite brash and sure of themselves. Almost like a little pest. "Say what you want, you still seem like a copy cat if I've ever seen one. Just in denial, eh?" Li'a held back a chuckle though as she tried to taunt him. Oh if she only knew! Sure him and his siblings enjoyed the usual game of dare. But if anyone was a wuss...well, it was well known just which of his brothers was. And it definitely wasn't this dark lion.
"Oh yeah? Maybe you're just a brat that thinks she got away without being caught. Hm? Maybe your kin wanted some peace and quiet with you wandering away." And though he was tempted to play growl in return, he held his composure and only grinned crookedly at the other.
"Heh, and Li is fine by me."

A brat? Lela? Never! She bristled at the comment and then snorted, eyes rolling. Right, right. He could insult her all she waned, she wasn't going to punish him for it. Tail flicking behind her, the dark female circled him again, a confident grin upon her face. "Whatever. I dare you to wrestle me, then. See who's the toughest out of the two of us!" Oh, she didn't know him at all. She only knew she was good at wrestling against her brothers. But they were the same age as her. This male was older, probably bigger and weighed more, too.
"I dare you. I double dare you to wrestle me. If I win, we go deep into the Rougelands until morning. Play a prank on our family. If you win.. we'll do whatever you want," with that line, she waved a paw dismissively, as if he'd never win.

((haha, I'm so gonna random number this. >D Low number equals weak attack, high number equals babaam!))
"Fine, I accept that dare." The boy openly chuckled now, completely forgetting he was supposed to be quiet in this cover of night. But now there was something fun to do! And he'd be a lame fool to miss out on it. Twitching his chilled tail, the male lion stood and began slowly circling the other. Now then, even though she was annoying and cocky, she was still just a girl. And he'd rather not be looked down on or feel guilty for hurting her.
But all the same, he wanted to knock some of that attitude out of her.
Taking one last step as a final warning, the dark lion finally leaped forward with a low growl. For now, maybe he'd just try and pin her down with his weight?

Pinned down she was. His weight upon her made her gasp for breath, but it didn't exactly hurt. Just surprised her, is all. Flailing under him, she thought of what her options are. When her brothers got the upper hand like this, she usually ended up headbutting them or biting their ankles until they got off of her. Clearly, Lela couldn't roll him off; he was just that much bigger.
So, she opted for a headbutt. Rearing her head back until it thumped against the ground, she surged forward, hoping to use the element of surprise to gain some ground in order to headbutt him.

Haha! He'd manage to strike her down almost with ease. But the boy knew better than to cheer just yet. They both still had a ton of energy to burn, and who knew what fighting techniques Lela has. Grunting as she began to flail about, Li'a felt almost like he was holding down a large bird. All a blur and mess of limbs.
It was by a quick glance of sight that Li'a was able to miss her own attack. She had thrown back her neck with such fierce intent that the male couldn't help but gasp. She was planning something! Taking caution, Li'a pounced away before the headbutt could make damage. Though as he jumped back, he made sure to stretch out a paw in attempts at a heavy swipe.
"Not bad for a rogue!"

The swipe connected with her jaw, but she didn't care. It stung, sure, but whatever. She ducked down after that, shaking her head, and then acted like she was going straight for him in a run, but she veered to the right. Lela needed to build up speed for her next tackle attack. Oh, she would use teeth, that was for sure.
So, she ran far enough away from him and did a half circle before skidding to a stop and smirking. With a growl, she ran at him again, praying that this tackle would connect and he'd go rolling with her around on the floor. If not, it would be just her skidding on the dirt and ground.

Padding his paws against the cold ground, Lia grinned to the nightly battle. It was a much more fun change than to just lurking around in the dark. Lashing his tail, the male lion blinked as the other boldly charged him. Was she crazy? There was no way he'd just tuck tail and run! Facing her with a growl, Lia was taken by surprise though when the girl veered away at the last moment. What? And before he knew what was happening, the other had attacked him from another angle. Warm fur beat against his side and he was sent tumbling from his feet in a mess of a roll.
Damn it, he lost his advantage! Kicking and flailing, Lia tried to keep the other away from him.

Ahah! She'd caught him completely off guard like she wanted. Now that he was flailing around on the ground like a fish out of water, Lela moved over him and laid there, grinning as she frantically put a paw on his throat, not putting pressure there. "I think this goes to me!" She said, loud enough so he would hear over his own breathing. Lela was panting by now, and she was so warm; her skin itched with the dirt brushing at it through her fur. The dark female picked herself up off of him and walked a few paces away, shaking her fur.
"ARGH. I hate itching!" She said, scratching at a spot on her shoulder with her back leg. "Wanna go again?" She flashed a grin at him after she'd done scratching.

What....WHAT!!!! No way he could loose to a rogue girl, there was just no way! Eyes narrowed as Lia peered up at the other while his lungs kept panting from the play fight. Dang it, all it took was one trip up on his part, and the game was over! What if it had been a real fight? Would he have been....been....
"Fine fine, you've won." The boy rolled upright as the girl finally left him be. Who knew he could be such a sore looser? Though the spectacle before him did have him quirking an eye. What was so bad about itchy fur? Especially in these lands, you'd have to get used to dirt and bugs and heat in your skin.
Offering a crooked grin, the dark male shook his head. "I think I'll pass. 'Sides, the night is getting near finished. The guards will be waking soon as normal." Stretching his legs, Lia' admitted he could still feel his youth in his bones. So energetic, yet still needing so much rest.
