Dark Rebellion (Rise of Empire Alternate Timeline)
By: ElladanKenet
Darth Sidious has been planning for Order 66 for more years than even he can count. After more than thirty years of plotting, dating back to his Apprenticeship under Darth Plagueis, Palpatine has been plotting for a rise of the Sith to galactic dominance, and defeat of the Jedi Order. The Naboo Crisis and the Clone Wars were just stepping stone up to the moment where he...
... failed? Before the Order could be given out, Mace Windu and the Jedi Council successfully arrest the Dark Lord, defeat him, and have him imprisoned. His plot has failed, and the Sith seem to be at an end at last.
But just when his hopes end, a new plan arises. While Skywalker is being heralded as the man who stopped the Dark Lord, Palpatine arranges for a breakout and arranges a cop d'etat, using his Clone Army to seize power. This causes a good fraction of the Republic, mainly the Delegates of Two Thousand (including Alderaan, Naboo, Corellia, Chandrilla, and others) along with the Jedi Order to rebel and break away. Palpatine declares himself Emperor and continues the fight, now not only against the CIS, but the 'Republic traitors' who refuse to join his Empire.
The CIS meanwhile, does not get assassinated, and manages to band together and continue the fight. However, now the Jedi and Republic Rebels want peace and an alliance, so they can join forces against Palpatine and his Empire.
And while all this is happening, two other powers are rising to prominence. The Underworld, long assumed to just be a backseat player in galactic politics, wants a slice of the pie, and is led by Black Sun and the Hutt Empire.
And finally, the rise of a new Sith Empire, formed from those Dark Jedi who refuse to join Palpatine. One would wonder why these Dark Jedi wouldn't join the most powerful Sith in the galaxy, but little does everyone else know, that they have the secrets to a long forgotten Sith Empire (the Rakatan), and plan to take over the galaxy, bringing back the days of the Sith Empire.
Which side will win? Which side will YOU join? Only time will tell...

Blood, Tears, and The Force -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An idea culminated by Sidal, with ideas from Cerasi~Kinn, Raven Blackstar, and Sephiroth_2000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General Notes: Time Period - Roughly "Rebellion Period" or "Galactic Civil War Period" Idea: A civil/political war between the Republic and Empire, with the Jedi and Sith backing either side until a "tremble" in the Force is felt, inspiring both Force-sensitive sides to bring the war to Corellia, a world residing in the "Galactic Trenchline," a "division" of the Galaxy containing disputed territory of the Republic Loyalists and the Galactic Imerium. Twist: A element unforseen by either side. I will not openly discuss it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Galactic Civil War has raged for 5 long years now. The Republic Loyalists have stood their ground against their brothers, the separatists of the Galactic Imperium. In the wake of the Clone Wars, the Republic was betrayed by one of their own, their leader, Chancellor Palpatine. In his attempt to grasp power and take control of the Galaxy, he plunged a blade into the back of the Council, proclaiming their rise into Imperialism and Totalitarianism. Many sided with the "Emperor," while other key members felt the cold shiver of darkness within his words.
"Lies!" they cried in protest as the Council split in twain; the sides were chosen between the Empire and the Loyalists. Soldiers of the Old Republic were torn in their alliances. Some chose to side with their homeworlds allegiance while others felt the pull of one side over another. Entire fleets split, brothers chose sides, and families felt the cold hand of military oppression.
The Council members and their respective homeworlds drew the lines of territory in the stars, creating the Galactic Trenchlines. The Core Worlds remain contested and unrepresented in the years of military and political struggle, while the Mid Rim and Outer Rim worlds became the haven for more than just smugglers and outlaws. Mercenaries became the new soldier; warlords the new generals; the black market became the armory.
During the "Great Schism," the Jedi were not exempt from this. Assassin-Soldiers, Clone Soldiers following Palpatines "Order 66," were also impaled upon the great knife. Many Jedi fell and scattered to the stars in hiding, knowing full well they were no longer guardians of one government. The Jedi Council felt the shiver of the Dark Side and took their followers to the Loyalists new homeworld, while younger, more ambitious, uncontrolled students felt they should protect their former-Chancellor.
The Jedi Council and their followers reformed the Jedi Order to protect the Republic Loyalists. The Jedi whom sided with the Empire felt more than loyalty to the Emperor upon their enlistment. With his rise in political power came more than just leadership over the masses. In his shadow hid the Followers of Plagueis, the Sith cult in following of Darth Plagueis and his teachings. "The ideology of immortality through the Dark Side is power."
The Followers drank from the Dark Side to fuel their own power, giving in to hatred, betrayal, lust, and greed. Many in the first year died as the strife for power consumed them, as it consumed their idol. Much like their Dark Lord Sidious, also known as Emperor Palpatine, they strove for power and respect, willing to give everything to attain and keep it; even willing to fight against their former brothers and sisters of the Jedi Order.
Now, in the height of Civil War, a disturbance has been felt within the Force. However, such a disturbance is not normal if both the Light and the Darkness feel its tremble. A great tremble, originating from a single planet somewhere within the Unknown Regions. A great conflict has been felt by both sides, and an epic battle has begun for Corellia, the key to the Galactic Trenchline and a large stepping stone to conquest of the disputed Core World territory.
But what of this tremor in the Force? A sign of things to come? A warning of events that will forever change the faces of good and evil? A feeling of Fate finally coming to its ephininal end?
"War... Conquest... Victory... Oppression... It's all the same when you don't have to watch your brothers and sisters die. When your father is slain for his beliefs and your mother raped out of spite; your brother conscripted and yourself paralyzed from a blaster bolt in the back. What do these petty victories mean when the lives of so many are lost..? I shall make them see what their sacrifices meant."
~ The Alleged Last Words of Xur
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Authors Note: All I have done is set the table. I have plans for a "world-shifting event," akin or even greater than this War. Could it be a superweapon? A new side? All I will reveal is this: Take Heed of Xur

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Front Lines ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ By ElladanKenet, based off of Republic Commando ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ General Idea
We play as footsoldiers for either the Republic or CIS. Infantry, pilots, commandos, ARCs, droids, etc. Major events are done by Canon NPCs, and we merely carry out their orders, with possible storyline changes depending on roleplay posts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
War has begun. After a decade of preparation, the Grandy Army of the Republic has been unleashed from Kamino, with Acclamators full of V-19 Torrent Fighters and thousands of Clone Troopers on board each, are travelling to Geonosis to defeat the amassed Separatist forces and rescue their Jedi comrades.
The CIS has some cards of it's own to play. New B2 Battledroids, General Grievous and his IG-100 Magnaguards, battalions of spider droids and spider walkers and hailfire droids are waiting to be used and thrown out en masse.
But the real story is told on the ground, where the real fighting takes place. Desperation, hope, carnage, and everything inbetween occur on the battlefield. Which side will you play for, and who will you gun down... or be gunned down by?
The Clone Wars have begun.

Vae Victis ------------------------ Culmination of the ideas from the RP ideas thread for the most part.
General Info-
Timeline: Galactic Civil War Era Idea: A cold war between the Grand Republic(Empire) and the New Alliance(Rebels) with the Sith backing the Republic in the form of Palpatine's new Academy on Telos IV and a mysterious, small Jedi sect guiding the Alliance. A war fought from the shadows, the Hutt Empire's underworld leading a weapons race to decide the fighting while mercenaries are hired as the common soldiers on the silent lines. Twist: Sith ruled galaxy with Jedi emerging from the sidelines to 'balance' the force. ------------------------
A cold war has gripped the galaxy after years of bitter struggle, in the aftermath of the Clone Wars, Senator Palpatine claimed he was attacked by the Jedi for no reason other than their own gain. Proclaiming them an enemy to the Republic, he then stated that they should break their ties to this evil, taking more than half of the republic with him and moving the newly named Grand Republic to Telos IV away from the "taint" of the Jedi.
Others believed that the peace keepers of the Galaxy would never harm one without just cause and as such formed the New Alliance, however, the Jedi were split during this as well during an internal inquisition of the incident. Most of the younger Jedi felt betrayed by the council upon learning that Mace Windu lead the so-called arrest that ended in attacking a man who was known to stand for peace and justice throughout the Republic.
Withdrawing from the Galactic scene, the remainder of the Jedi Order is now broken with few remaining to aid the Alliance. These few, calling themselves The Templars have lead through questionable tactics, attacking weaker and war-torn worlds to gain footholds during the early years of the war. Lead by an enigmatic and unknown leader, their true motives are a mystery.
The name 'The Templars' was brought from their fierce defense of the old council and their actions regardless of the outcome. An extremist sect, they unquestioningly stand for the side of Light, even denying their own darkness rather than learning to face it.
In the chaos, the underworld has become a dominant power, mass producing weapons to the highest bidder and selling off mercenaries for small strikes that cannot be traced back to their employers. Mostly run and funded by the Hutts, the black market and most of the underworld with it have grown exponentially due to the war, with many of the liaisons being treated like nobility on whichever world they reside.
Amidst this chaos and strife, what will you fight for? Who will succeed and who shall be left as merely a memory of a dark and dying age?

Edited some things and added more details.

Quote: Over the forest moon of Endor, in a final assault against the Emperor and his tyrannical regime, the Rebel Alliance battled bravely against overwhelming numbers and the sheer might of the Imperial Empire. Though many lives were sacrificed in this struggle, the Rebel Alliance proved victorious, with the aid of an unlikely ally, and successfully destroyed the Death Star, along with the Emperor’s apprentice, Darth Vader, as well as the Emperor himself. Entire planets broke out in celebration, the Alliance’s promise of freedom finally being realised. Over the coming months, an ongoing campaign, under the command of Admiral Ackbar, to liberate the Core Systems was realised, giving the Rebel Alliance a staging area for their new democratic government, under the banner of the New Republic.
However, Galactic liberation could not be achieved. Unforeseen by the New Republic, support for Imperial controlled worlds grew within them, many violently resisting any attempts by the New Republic to free them from Imperial oppression. To them, the Empire had offered a time of economic prosperity and military security, with the only threat to that security being from the New Republic. All they wanted was to be left in peace. To the New Republic, this resistance was seen as just another form of Imperial manipulation, and so the assaults on Imperial territory continued.
Within the New Republic, questions as to the government’s ability to uphold their promises began to arise. Morale fell greatly, leaving the fate of the New Republic on a knife’s edge. To win the hearts and minds of its citizens, leaders of the New Republic decided that a large victory over the Imperials had to be achieved. The Imperial stronghold of Byss was selected as the target. Not only would a victory there show that the New Republic was capable of defeating the Empire once and for all, but the suspected technology on Byss could turn the war in their favour.
Before being shipped out, Leia Organa Solo addressed the vast number of troops being sent on this mission. She outlined how truly important a victory at Byss was to the survival of the New Republic. However, before she was able to finish her speech, a rifle shot was fired from a nearby building, killing her instantly. Outraged, the New Republic forces apprehended the assassin and killed him, but not before interrogating him. Unexpectedly, it was not as hired killing by the Imperials, but merely a disgruntled citizen of the New Republic who wanted dramatic changes. Though delayed, but with a renewed sense of purpose, the New Republic troops continued their mission to liberate Byss.
Due to bad intelligence, the assault on Byss was a terrible defeat to the New Republic. As the fleet dropped out of hyperspace they were greeted by a truly frightening sight. An Imperial Super Stardestroyer which had been sent to Byss for routine maintenance was directly in the flight path of the New Republic vessels. Though the element of surprise gave the New Republic an edge in the intial stages of the battle, they were inevitably decimated by the incredible force of the Super Stardestroyer. On attempting to flee, Adirmal Ackbar’s capital ship, Home One, was crippled and subsequently destroyed. What little remained of the New Republic limped back to safe territory to deliver the news.
The loss at Byss dealt a near fatal blow to the New Republic. Outraged by the failure of their supposed leaders, the citizens of Coruscant took up arms and an uncontrollable riot erupted. Quickly gaining support, the rioters stormed the political buildings, killing as many as they could find. As a final example of their rebellion against the New Republic, Mon Mothma was executed on the steps of the Senate. Those who were still loyal to the New Republic fled to the nearby planet of Corellia, leaving Coruscant to decay.
Years passed, but the New Republic was never quite able to recover, with questions of the competency of the leaders constantly arising. Coruscant become a dangerous, lawless planet, with neither the New Republic nor the Imperials willing to risk committing men to invading it. Luke Skywalker was able to re-establish a Jedi Academy on the remote planet of Dantooine. Without the valuable artifacts from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, however, what he was able to teach his new pupils was limited to what he himself had learnt. Moreover, financial support from the New Republic for the Jedi Academy dwindled radically as the New Republic had not received its “Guardians” as quickly as it had hoped. Students of the Academy were often taken out while they were significantly inexperienced and forced in combat situations, quelling the small riots that were now a common occurrence within the New Republic. With little choice, Skywalker allowed this; knowing that refusing it would mean the closure of the Jedi Academy all together.
Meanwhile, the numerous failings of the New Republic had rallied support for the Imperial regime within Imperial space. Dark Force Users, previously under the direct command of the late Emperor Palpatine, had been reordered into an elaborate, yet effective, spy network. Learning of the ever weakening New Republic, the Imperial leaders decided now was a fitting time to get revenge for the embarrassment at Endor all those years ago, as well as reclaiming planets they once called their own.
As the Imperial armada dropped out of hyperspace, countless landing craft, loaded with both troops and artillery, launched from the mighty Stardestroyers, headed for the planet’s surface. Day seemed to turn to night as the shadow of the Imperial navy blocked out the sun. Fear struck the hearts of the civilians as the Imperials began their assault on the unsuspecting New Republic... Setting: Alternate Post-GCW Idea: Pretty simple. Imperials vs the New Republic, just focusing more on individual conflicts. Other Notes: Tons of room for expansion after Corellia. - Dantooine and the Jedi Academy - Deeper growth into the Dark Force Users - Retrieval of artifacts from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant (From both light and dark) - Involvement of a third faction based around the lawless on Coruscant - Further conflicts between the New Republic and the Imperials (New weapons?) - Potential for cameos by famous characters from Star Wars (some people like that, others do not. Either way, the option is there). I could not think of a name, so I left that blank.
