Your trusty headmaster would like hold a quick class on etiquette. Elves must practice proper etiquette as much and as often as they can. Granted, there will be times where your social graces may falter, but I am here to coach you on how to avoid those times. Now place this book on top of your head and read on!

Lesson 1 The first lesson in etiquette is all about saying thank you. Gaians will see your generous antics around Gaia and will sometimes be moved to help your cause. Thus, it is important to take the time to say thank you to Gaians being nice to you. Whether it be a gift, trade, art, and/or a comment, please take the time to give your thanks to that person. A quick list below will give you some pointers... Thank You Pointers
Gifts - A person might send you a gift. If the gift is anonymous, obviously you cannot thank that random benefactor. However, if the gift has a name attached to it, please PM that person or leave a comment on their profile. Trade - A trade is usually a lucrative donation as you can give up to 12 items (game items are unlimited in the amount you can donate) and gold. Trades should always be responded with a thank you. Another nice thing to do is include a game flower in your side of the trade. The person sending you the item will more than likely be pleasantly surprised and pleased to see a little flower! Art - The fact that someone took the time out of their life to draw your avatar is a wonderful and giving thing! You should always be thankful for art! Send a small tip, even if the art was free. A flower bouquet or a small Christmas item will bring a smile to your artist! Comments & PMs - Gaians will see elves post in the forums and be inspired to comment on your profile or to send you a private message, whether it be asking you a question or leaving you an encouraging note. Please try to respond to every comment/PM you get. I know your lives are busy, but when a Gaian sees their comment/PM go ignored, they will become sad. It's proper etiquette to keep up with your correspondence! (Please note that some comments/PM will not require a reply and it is fine to not reply to those. You will know those comments/PM when you see it - a comment with one emoticon, a 'ty 4 buying' or other such chatters are hard to create conversation out of.)

Lesson 2 The second lesson of Elf Etiquette is about social manners. An Elf should always be kind and graceful. Such activities include... Social Manners Tips
Treating your fellow elves in a respectful manner. Not forming elf cliques that exclude others. Listening to your elf teachers and leaders and not giving them a bad attitude. Refraining from posting negative things about elf life. If you do not like a certain elf thread or decision, you do not have to participate in whatever actions are going on. Remember, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!

Lesson 3 The last lesson is Elf Etiquette is about resigning from your elf position. The dark hour might come when you decide that you are finished with being an elf. Rather than changing your account name and leaving without a word, below are some pointers on how to act. Resignation Pointers
Proper etiquette states that it would be better to inform your elf in charge or your headmaster before leaving. A quick note saying your elf name and why you are leaving would be sufficient enough. please note that any accounts suddenly changed will be banned on sight, but it would be best to hear from you before you leave.

I would send you an inexpensive scarf, and the following PM!:
Dear sir, thank you kindly for your generous donation! With this, I can provide warm and wooly neckwear to deserving GCDers, and some candy for them to enjoy! What a lovely surprise - I'm sure they'll love the addition to the traditional scarf gift! We elves very much appreciate your generosity - I hope you enjoy this small token of our thanks!

Lesson 2 Final
Please take this time to develop some positive elf camaraderie. Leave a couple of nice, respectful comments on the profile of an elf of your choosing.
Hello Mr. Headmaster! I've posted on the walls of GCD Elf 513 and GCD Elf 000 for this portion of my exam!
Lesson 3 Final
Draft a fake letter of resignation and post it in this thread. I will evaluate all of your work and post if you passed in the post below!
Good evening sir!
I regret to say that I, GCD Elf 716, will have to resign from my duties, as my schoolwork IRL is taking me away from Gaia to the extent that I don't feel I have the time to be a proper elf. Thank you for all the opportunities being an elf has provided me - I enjoyed myself immensely, and hope you and all the other elves will keep up the good work in my stead!
Sincerely, Amai

Good day, sir.
I am so sorry to say that I am no longer free to be an elf. I am busy with my studying in real life and I cannot go on Gaia as much as I did. Therefore, I think I have to resign from my duties in order to study.
With love, Kelly, Elf 520
